I had forgotten that the Bucs picked up Cato June, I think that means GOOD things for the Jacksonville running game considering how much he slipped off MJD last season.
June made the highlight reel all game long that day, thats for sure. After seeing Gray play last week, I'd say MJD and Taylor are each going to get about 50 carries a piece.

the bucs also have Trotter. Im sure he will see alot of time because the bucs wont be scared by the pass

Big Ben has more control over the pass protection this year and yet he has still been sacked 15 times (about the same or a little less than last year).

It seems the blitz pickup is not as much of a problem as bad blocking at times because it doesn't seem to matter who is calling out the protections. The sad thing is that Ben could have been sacked at least 10 more times if he did not have the holy powers of the Messiah. Might Big Ben be the hardest player to sack in the game (considering that he can usually avoid one or two totally unblocked rushers a few times a game)?

Eh I'd say Vince Young is the hardest to sack, of course he makes up for it by being the second worst passer in my eyes.

Vince looks to run more than Ben too. It is easier to avoid the sack when you are always looking to run.

Ben moves around to buy time to throw it.

I think that makes what Ben does more impressive.

Actually Romo is pretty good at avoiding the sack too now that I think about it.

If you get sacked 15 times, you aren't good at avoiding sacks. Or rather you might be good at avoiding sacks but have no idea when you have to get rid of the football. Which I think is much more important. I'd definitely go with Young first of all he is elusive, second he can take a hit and still go on. He's complete garbage as a qb though.

Peyton is one of the least sacked quarterbacks ever, but if the line doesn't block no one can avoid all of the sacks. Remember how Peyton got sacked like 6 times against the Steelers in the playoffs? He didn't just become shitty at avoiding sacks, his protection just couldn't handle the pressure that day.

Big Ben handles A LOT of pressure and if it wasn't for his ability to avoid the sack that number could be 30 instead of 15. The Steelers O line has been wildly inconsistent this season and sometimes the numbers don't tell the whole story. Out of the 15 sacks, I would attribute 4 to Ben holding the ball too long, but as I said he has avoided being sacked a lot more times then he has actually been sacked.

And Young is a beast, but as I said Ben avoids the sack to throw and Vince avoids the sack by running. It is harder to do what Ben does.

I actually feel really bad for Steelers fans and Tomlin in particular. THey're having a damn good season so far but because of Brady and the Patriots' grudge against happiness nobody is even giving the Steelers they're props when they're easily the third best team in the league at this point.

FITZGERALD FACES PATERNITY SUIT

Taking a page from teammate Matt Leinart's off-field playbook, Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald is facing a paternity suit from a former Raiders cheerleader.

The mother is Angela Nazario, and she alleges that the child is due in early January. She wants child support from Fitzgerald, and he says that he's willing to provide it if a DNA test shows that he's the father.

Court documents obtained by TMZ.com reveal a partial Mrs. Robinson situation, with Fitzgerald at 24 years old and Nazario at 37.

st louis does have great fans, but they only show up to cardinals games....rams fans in st louis are generally disgraceful

Screw that. I am not giving my money to go see a 0-7 team. The Texans 2-14 season was hard, really hard. I didn't blame people for not showing up. The only positive is that season tickets had sold out the stadium all season so there wasn't any black outs. I guess that is one thing I can say about Texans fans. Even after the 2-14 season they continued to buy season tickets. Actually, they sold more season tickets than ever after the 2-14 season.

You never know really. He got thrown in there unexpectedly against the Super Bowl champs. Against another team, and a week of getting all the snaps at practice, he might look fine.

I'd rather it that way. Steelers have always played better under the radar. Not sure that has changed much under Tomlin. Plus, I'd rather the team peak at the end of the year than the beginning. Hopefully, Tomlin and Arians get better at gameplanning as the year goes on as well. They were outcoached in their two losses so far.

Not just Tomlin and Arians but LeBeau too seeing how the defense fell apart at times. Everything else you said is dead on, especially the part about peaking at the end. So much more important to be playing great football in January than October.

Still the formula for the Steelers is still the same as when we won the Superbowl. Get a lead early with the passing game. Then grind it out with the running game and defense.

Yeah, the D performance was unsettling last week. For now, I'm looking at that game as just an aberration so far. At least I hope so.

Robinson the Wise on matters of Chad Pennington said:
While the Jets still haven't made the switch to Kellen Clemens, it's clear that Pennington's starting days in New York are running out. Pennington's numbers haven't been atrocious, but he hasn't engineered wins this season, either. He'll be 32 when next season starts, and considering his past health issues, he's likely nearing a point when his arm strength will diminish significantly.

Okay, which TV network is broadcasting the Giants lphins game? Since we'll be in a convenient sideline position, the topic of taking along the traditional network-themed signs came up, and it would be good to know which company we should be subtlely mocking. :P

Favourite suggestion for a (network-neutral) sign so far is "My colonies invented a new form of football, and all I got was this lousy Cleo Lemon..."

Best player-baiting suggestion comes from infrequent GAF-poster spikydavid, who has expressed a desire, since we're sitting directly behind the Giants bench, to occasionally shout "Hey, Peyton" at the sideline. :D

Edit: I also quite like the classic "Americans and Brits mean different things by 'football'. Neither definition encompasses the Miami Lphins." Though that might be a little lengthy for Fox...

drew brees will have an incredible day, The fraudy niners is exactly what they are, i can't believe people were expecting them to go all the way this year. :lol

The way you continue to talk trash when your team is 2-4, and has the same record as the 9ers, confuses me

Especially with drew brees and his 69 QB rating

All the way? What the hell?

Look, in all seriousness, I don't know if we'll win this game on Sunday, but come on man... You guys are 2-4, so are we: but we didn't have our starting quarterback in 3 straight games. Why you keep hating?

because i'm a shit talker, but before either team was 2-4, every other person had their bets on the niners going to the playoffs, i didn't see it then, and i damn sure don't see it now. No offense methodman. :D

if alex smith out plays drew brees, i'm gonna wear his avatar for the entire season. Deal? to show my appreciation, i'm not gonna allow you to bet against that. Also, i won't talk shit against the niners if they beat us. :)

I have a gut feeling the bengals/steelers game tomorrow is going to have some of the worst flags ever. aside from the first MNF game nearly every bengals game I've seen has had some horrible, horrible officiating against both teams.

Even as a Redskins fan and the improved D I don't see much hope of us getting a win, or even keeping the Pats below their 30 point per game output. But since I pick them every week anyway, why stop now?

Go Redskins!

Go Arsenal!

Well, I leave to see my first real live American Football team in half an hour. I'd always hoped I'd get to see two, but it's the thought that counts...

Thats why a limping niners team beat your ass LAST YEAR. They've actually gotten better across the board while the Saints have a habit of cutting their bust players and drafting girl scouts instead of guys who can play defense. Mike McKenzie wouldn't even make nickelback on most teams in the NFC anymore and that linebacking core couldn't even stop the most pitiful of 40 & up flag football teams. I look forward to seeing Reggie cry when he gets shown up by a real runningback from a real college - DA MUTHA*****N U!

Damn. This is the first week that I'm actually ROOTING for the Lions. Most times I just dispassionately watch what happens because I'm sick of them always breaking my heart. But I'm so sick of arrogant fucking Bears fans that I hope the Lions beat them again today. God.... Bears fans have ZERO reason to be arrogant about ANYTHING. Sorry but if your team can't figure out that, hmmm, the RB and QB positions are KIND OF IMPORTANT and shouldn't be ignored all off season (at the same time you're ignoring one of your most important defensive players) then you don't get to say you're a good football organization.

The biggest crime in Chicago isn't Mayor Daly and all his shit, it's not that cop putting a hit out on another cop... it's the fact that Chicago fans continually stand by sports teams where the ownership clearly doesn't give a shit about the fans. And I almost felt bad for Chicago fans until I opened up the Red Eye today and saw all these ass clowns ripping on the Lions.

Now I hope the Lions smite the Bears with the fury of God himself. I hope Brian Urlacher tears his ACL walking off the field at the end of the game, too, just to add insult to injury. I mean, they won't... they'll probably lose in the most embarassing way possible, but a fella can hope, right?

holy fucking shit!!! :lol :lol :lol

i kinda feel sorry for brian urlacher knowing that he have that back injury. I guess thats why he doesn't play like he usually plays. I hope that they can just seat him out this game, that and the bye might help him out.

Is it wrong that im wishing harm to players on san diego, and hoping they lose big. I have really come to despise the chargers based on some of the very arrogant fans on another board who think the deserve to win just because they are the chargers, coupled with the whinyness of LT.

I hope iapetus is tailgating it up right now. At Giants stadium right now we'd be grilling up sausages and downing some of the worlds finest beer.
