what jrpg are you playing right now ?

Play Arcanum, it runs on almost any PC, is available on gog (so drm free), and you'll thank me later. It's great fun. PT is OK too, not that fun as Arcanum, System shock 2 (I assume you mean 2) is not exactly that much of an RPG but it'll run on almost everything, I think.
I'll second Fallout (original one) suggestion too.

I'll definitely try Arcanum. I've watched a review and was surprised it was made by the Fallout guys.

You got more?

Something along the lines of Anachronox would be great. I love turn based RPGs.

Nope, sorry, not much of a PC Gamer, apart from a few games.
Those two I told you, plus Arcanum which was mentioned above. I also liked The Witcher but I don't think a "low GPU" can run it...
It is relative to how low end your GPU is.

I can run oblivion in low/med settings in 720p. Very old computer around 8 years old.

EDIT: GPU is Radeon X1650 pro.

Just finished a speedrun of Ao no Kiseki to get it done before starting Sen which should arrive soon. Other than that playing through VK3 for 2nd time and from time to time, Suikoden 2 on the Vita.

Doing a first playthrough of FF Tactics on my vita and getting my ass handed to me holy shit i suck.

Make sure you are prepared when you get to the 'point of no return' stretch at the end of the game because there is...no return, and I remember specifically one playthrough I had to start over because I couldn't win. Eventually beat it but there are some difficult moments. I think the final boss is pretty easy though.

Two saves.

Ramza's starting jobs isn't as gimp as it first appears...

Prepare for grueling asshole bosses without much warning, even back to back.

Ninjas!

Hunker down and keep fighting till the back stretch of the games; they reward you for getting that far, I'll say that.

I finished FFXIII. I rock!

...I started FFXIII-2. My life is a shambles.

Good points so far (I'm only about an hour in):
- Finer control over paradigms seems like it will be helpful, especially the ability to save them (hated switching my party around in 13-1 because of having to re-create my whole deck every time).
- Battle flow has been slowed down a tad, which pleases me because things don't feel quite as hectic.
- Noel and Serah seem immediately capable/unafraid of fighting, and I don't think either of them are going to pull a Hope and sink to their knees in despair when they stub their toe. Well, I guess Serah might, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt for now.
- Graphically and aurally everything is great, as expected. Actually, the starting area's visuals and music are giving me serious Besaid Island vibes, which can only be a good thing.
- Civilization may be a little rougher on Gran Pulse, but New Bodhum is clearly keeping itself well stocked with dye and hairspray, so things can't be too bad.

Distasteful points so far:
- The NPC dialog. I was sitting there in horror listening to multiple people recite multiple lines about "my kitty is awesome," "my kitty is soft and smooth," etc. I wanted to stop pressing X but it was like watching a car crash—I couldn't turn away.
- Time travel/multiple timelines(?) sounds cool on paper, but I know it's going to lead to straight-up retarded shit and I'm not really looking forward to it.
- I'm probably doing the Crystarium wrong. Thanks for that short, clear-as-mud explanation on how it works, Square. Is it possible to screw yourself over with how you choose to level your characters' roles?
- Noel and Serah might be able to fight, but they still don't seem very smart. At least they're in good company.

Fire Emblem: Awakening.

I thought my love for JRPGs had died off this gen but this game. It's so incredibly addicting. This is my first foray into the series and I really give major props to the people who are playing this on the Classic mode. I went with Hard/Casual-- I'll always try to get everyone to stay alive but sometimes I buckle under the frustration and just give in and sacrifice one of party members.

Some of the battles are terribly frustrating at times-- almost unfairly so. (
I'm at one of the paralogues where I meet Severa and I can't seem to get through one of the turns w/o one of my party members dying.
) But when you actually manage to get through the battle that feeling you get- it's so satisfying. And I normally don't even like Tactical JRPGs.

But yes, Fire Emblem: Awakening is incredible and it's definitely one of my GOTYs this year.

Dragon's Dogma: DA thanks to PS+.

The demo really put me off this game back when it came out. It played and looked like a run of the mill, generic fantasy RPG. Oh how I was wrong.

Hard/classic wasn't that bad for me. It was my first time playing a SRPG and I took to it quite well. Every stage required multiple soft resets but finally finishing a chapter always felt really rewarding.

Lunatic on the other hand can go fuck itself. Nothing but frustration to be had with that. Even on Lunatic/Casual with mid-battle saves. It's just too much and I'm not willing to lose my hair over it just to beat my chest and prove how hardcore am I.

Final Fantasy III for DS. Only about two hours in but already liking it a lot. It's weird having jobs unlike FFII where anyone can do anything.

I have a question about white mages though; can they ever equip a weapon or no?

I'm playing through Etrian Odyssey Untold right now but I haven't made much progress due to school. It's pretty fun from what I have played, though. I'm hoping that I can finish it before Ace Attorney releases but that probably won't happen.

Decided to play through Golden Sun 1 and 2 again because I loved these games and considered them to be amazing RPG's.

I really should have left them alone, these games are fucking awful in hind sight, well that's an over exaggeration but Camelot really needs to learn how to fucking do exposition and write real dialogue, not to mention the story is a shit show with a huge portion of the activities you do being unrelated to anything regarding your main quest and can barely be even called footholds to real objectives.

BUT THE DIALOGUE AND WRITING IS LITERALLY THE WORST I'VE EVER SEEN, and I'm not talking "campy bad" or "so bad it's good" I'm talking characters legimiately have no idea what is going on around them, poorly framed questions, constant contradictions between what was said before and what is said now (some times minutes apart) and contradiction between what happens on screen and what the characters say!

Not to mention dungeon design is mostly the same, few dungeons introduce a note worthy gimmick besides, rolling logs, pushing blocks, activating switches and circumventing the 1 square jump limit.

These games, have an insane level of production value but some of the worst execution of ideas / story I have ever seen.

I only played the first GS, but I noticed this also. Annoyed the heck out of me.

That said, I'm playing Kingdom Hearts: BBS for the first time. Seems like dialogue has not gotten much better in RPGs, it's so cringeworthy in this one. But I like everything else, so I'll have to sit through it.

I'm also playing the first Etrian Odyssey on the side. Love these games even though they hate me.

I finally gave up on Golden Sun: Dark Dawn and now playing though Radiant Historia. The difference in quality is simply astounding, even the story is interesting. still getting used to the whole time travel mechanic but GODAMN!! I already feel like I'm playing a special game.

Finished Trinity Universe about a week and a half ago and am now up to Chapter 5 in Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2. I'm really enjoying it but I liked the first one a lot more.

Next in the backlog is Tales of Graces f.

Etrian Odyssey Untold. EO is a full-fledged JRPG now...and I like it. Having the options for both a traditional story and the classic build-your-own-characters is just awesome -- best of both worlds.

Trying to knock out the mainline Dragon Quests I haven't beaten yet. Finally got done with 2, working on 3, and 7 is on the way.

Got the Hero, a Fighter, Pilgrim, and Sage up to 20 right now. I'll probably learn all of the Pilgrim spells before changing to a Soldier.

Playing through Tales of Xillia and really enjoying it. I played a bit of Xenoblade when i got it via gamefly, but i wasn't gripped. I would give it another go, but i don't want to renew my subscription to gamefly and the game is too expensive at retailers.

After Xillia i don't have any planned at the moment

I have a question about white mages though; can they ever equip a weapon or no?

Admittedly not that great of a game, but I got really addicted to the job classes in FFIII DS. Love the artstyle too. The game feels like it opens up a bit once you unlock more classes, and (apparently unlike the nes version) even in late game the classes are relatively balanced with one another, meaning you just pick what class you enjoy the most.

And, if I recall correctly, white mages can equip daggers and hammers (and maybe bows, but that may be really stretching it). Just like in every other FF, they are entirely for support offering almost no offensive capabilities, other than against undead enemies.

Finished Tales of Xillia (which was awesome) and not sure if this count as a jrpg (probably not) but i'm playing Rune Factory 4 now .

Next one for me is Ys:Memories of Celceta

Atelier Totori and Meruru are on my backlog (planning to get Vita version) these would be my next jrpgs

Still cranking away at etrian odessey 4. Really not liking the third maze.

About to get pokemon x, and have tales of the abyss and disgaea 3 vita on my backlog if I can get past the horrific characters.

I'm taking my friend through the Chrono series. We're on Death Peak in CT and after that I'll have him play CC. These are two of my favorite games but I know how CC's narrative can be a little frustrating if you want all of your questions answered so I thought we'd pick up Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes fan hack to bridge the story! It's not canon but what I've played I have really dug and I don't even know the entire plot yet.

Anyone have much experience with the fan hack? I hear it really just ramps up enemy hit points to seem harder instead of making the strategy harder. But I also hear the narrative is amazing.

Final Fantasy II SNES. Completed with gameclock showing 24hrs, all sidequests done and the end was intense because the guide I read said that my party members should be levelled to the high 60's while my highest dude was level 57.
Take that, Zeromus!!

KH 1.5 HD Remix! About to seal the keyhole in Hollow Bastion. Absolutely loving going through this game again (first time since the original on PS2)!
