Wii U eshop Games

Toki Tori HD has passed lot check, just needs approval from Japan. Should be out in a week or two.

Excellent. I just bought my Wii U and the Pikmins transferred all my stuff over from my Wii (which is now to be relegated to the bedroom). I was wondering only this morning on the odds of eShop releases of Wii Ware games.

Even though it's cheap enough at £1.69 (assuming current Euro-Pound conversion rate), I wonder if toes would be dipped in regards to extending the loyalty discount for current Wii version owners, like they do with the (quite frankly, horribly overpriced) VC games.

I'd love to see more Wii Ware games converted.

"experience" aND "offtv" is what I was looking for in Little Inferno.
I know that it is not exactly a "true" game, in fact.
Could you post some rough impression?

The story is pretty nice. I think it's all about the experimentation though. Burn, cut, freeze, poison, nuke different items. For example you can disarm a bomb if you freeze it, or you can open some items like bottles. And I enjoyed the references. I think I've played about 20-25 hours.

It's as much a game as Tetris is a game. It's a puzzle game. A pretty genius one. And there is a pretty crazy endgame which would be spoiled by any more clarification.

I just got a Wii U and when I was filling out my registration at Club Nintendo it said something about Deluxe Digital Promotion. I haven't seen anything about this anywhere. Basically for every $50 you spend on the eshop you get $5 back.

I'm not sure why all these kickstarters persist at making Wii U a far end stretchgoal. I don't see why people would pay that much more to get a version on a console that doesn't sell.
Oh wait, that must be why. Or they just hope they won't have to do it if it's expensive enough.

Still, they should use PS4 verison as a bait, not Wii U version. That won't bring them more money.

Edit: not talking about this game specifically.

well as things stand there are millions more wii u owners than ps4 owners

Yes,
every Premium pack comes with the promotion. they give you 10% of your digital purchase as "points". Once reached the "goal" of 50 bucks (I think it's 50 also in PAL) they give you the realated 5 bucks back to purhcase something else on the eshop.

Yep, that's how it works.

£1.79 I believe in the UK

you only get 8% back in pal-land as our prices include tax

Yep, it's pretty neat if you plan to buy consistently from the eShop. I got the Wind Waker bundle, and downloading it gave me almost an entire $5 certificate.

Same here, I already have a $5 cert after owning it 2 days.

Any suggestions for Eshop must buys?

Must have to me: Toki Tori 2 + and Nano Assault Neo

If you still have to play it: Trine 2 and Runner 2

If you don't own a 3DS: Mutant Mudds Deluxe, Migthy Switch Force

On the VC, Earthbound

Hey guys I bought a 3DS XL with Mario Kart 7 built in ages ago but recently sold it. Before selling it I formatted the memory like I always do with any kind of device I sell that has storage. My question is it seems Mario Kart 7 is gone, any idea how I can restore it?

Go to your eShop account download history and they should be there, I think?

I hate to say it but I have never played Earthbound.

And that's the best reason why you should buy it now :)

So far all I've gotten is Pikmin 3 DLC. I have Earthbound and Toki Tori 2+ on my wishlist but too much in my backlog ATM. Plus Mario World 3D comes out next month!

A few weeks ago Two Tribes stated on Twitter they are working on some kind of 2D shoot 'em up.

Today they posted a screenshot of a new game on Miiverse, so it's probably from this 2D shoot 'em up.

Recently bought Nano Assault Neo. Recently fell in love with Nano Assault Neo. Scheduled a wedding with Nano Assault Neo. Planning to have children with Nano Assault Neo.

Super Metroid and Mega Man X are the only must buys imo

And Earthbound, and Mario World, and The Legend of Zelda, and Adventures of Link, and Punch Out!!, and Mega Man 2. Assuming money is no object, how are these games not must-buys as well?

So I bought the Wind Waker Wii U the other week and I've picked up a few SNES games since. Ended up with Super Metroid, Earthbound, Harvest Moon and Super Mario World. I've already finished Super Metroid; I'm painfully awful at Mario games, so I might play that one last...

I never owned a SNES so I definitely feel like I'm righting a few wrongs. Also, playing them on the Wii SNES controller feels great!

Yeah, the Wii U VC is kind of on the barren side, but there's far more greatness on there than just two games.

Why does the eshop have to close every time the WiiU drops my wifi connection, why not just give a refresh or reconnect option. Really annoying whilst I'm trying to start my Pikmin 3 and W101 downloads.

Question: I already transferred my wii content to my wii u. I've now got some discounts on the games I already had on wii.

However I still have 800 pts on the wii shop. If I spend them on let's say MMX, will I then get a discount the wii u eshop MMX?

Yes. But why would you buy a game that's on the Wii U VC already? My suggestioN: Buy something that's NOT on Wii U. If you buy MMX, you spend $9.50 on an $8 game that you could buy for $8 on WiiU VC. But if you spend the 800 points on a game you don't yet own (I'd pick one that's unlikely to be re-released on WiiUVC) you at least have a unique one.

Because I already have the points on my account. The only money I'd have to spend is the $1.50 for the Wii U upgrade.

edit: and I like playing with my shiny new GamePad!

Get some Castlevania games?
Castlevania Rondo of Blood (VC Turbografx) and Castlevania:Rebirth (wiiware) and Super Castlevania IV (VC Snes)

I'm considering buying a Wii U (I know, I know...) and had a question about Virtual Console games.

It looks like the list of official Wii U Virtual Console games is pretty barren, but I've read that the Wii's full stable of Virtual Console games is available through Wii Mode and/or the Wii Shop Channel. Just how does that work? Sounds less than ideal.

Hold B on startup to boot directly to Wii mode, or select Wii mode from the gamepad menu. Then you access the VC games just like you do on the Wii.

It's pretty simple, and the only extra step over having a native Wii U downloadable game is activating Wii mode (just 1 button press over a native game).

it's not really that big a deal.

You can transfer all (with the exception of 2-3 games) of your Wii VC games to WiiU and access them via Wii mode. They'll be playable on the TV and now even display on the Gamepad, HOWEVER the gamepad doesn't act as a controller (hopefully they'll fix that sometime)
You can still download anything from the Wii Shop Channel and use it in Wii mode.

Should you decide you want to upgrade any of your Wii VC games to their respective WiiU versions, you can pay an upgrade fee (1.50 Euro) and get it in native WiiU mode with all the benefits attached to that (Miiverse, savestates, screenshots, e-manual)
