Pokemon X and Y SPOILER Discussion Thread

Can't get my Sliggoo to evolve into Goodra. I guess it's the pokemon that evolves when it's raining? Rain Dance doesn't seem to qualify though. Do I need to look for environmental rain, and if so, what route does that happen on?

I heard it's level 55 while raining.

I want to obtain a Mudkip, as I want to make it a surprise for my "girlyfriend," who had one as her starting Pokemon back in Pokemon Emerald.

However, I haven't had much luck with obtaining one in the GTS, so would someone be willing to trade with me?

I levelled mine up to 56 with rain from Rain Dance active. No evolution.

Dang really? Isn't he in the Mountain dex though? Or does that mean I get the Mountain dex soon?

Oh and when do you get fly?
Honestly can't remember when I exactly got the Mountain Dex or Fly to be honest. I had the Fly HM for a while without being able to use it due to having no flyers on my team (I had not evolved Shelgon to Salamence at this point).

Mudkip is unobtainable in Gen VI as of now, you'll have to wait until December when Poketransporter gets released and you can transfer over from DS games (and subsequently GBA games)

Most of the Kalos shinies look pretty decent. I'm surprised. We haven't seen a single Garchomp-style shade change. I'm getting a Shiny Greninja, Tyrantrum and Aegislash if it kills me.

Looker isn't someone I have come across before in Pokémon games due to not exploring B/W and ignoring Platinum.

Having finished the quests in X/Y, was there any real point to it or is it merely story?

Right, so I'm guessing you have to actually be somewhere where it's raining, since using Rain Dance and levelling while it's active isn't working. Is there a route where it's always raining?

Anyone know how to get a Dusk Stone early? I just arrived at Route 12, and I've heard you can get one in the post-game from a grunt in the sixth gym town and one via Super Secret Training. But, I'd like one that's quicker to access then those...

Grab a random pokemon (not something from your main party), complete all the missions and max out It's EV's (super training bar). When they're maxed the pokemon will get access to super training missions that occasionally award evolutionary stones. The dusk stone is in the 5th or 6th secret mission featuring Aegislash.

Just story, I think.

My favourite sidequest in any Pokémon game, though. A weird Dickens-meets-noir thing.

So does anyone know how you get the upgraded Mega Ring? I know you have to do the Serena battle, but where is that?

The town you visit via train that has Battle Maison there.

She/He should be at the top of the town during the day. At least that's how it happened for me.

You MAY need to do some Battle Maison/Friend Safari before they appear though.

Afterwards the professor will contact you, you'll meet him and you'll get the upgrade.

OK, thanks. I'll do a quick Battle Maison round then check again.

Have we found out how many total Pokemon are in XY yet? How many from Gen 1-5?

And any legendaries besides the flying trio from red/blue?

Has anyone found Gary Oak/Blue yet?

Serebii's unlocking new fights in the Battle Maison.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gary's a high level opponent in there. Or he appears when you complete the Kalos Dex, which I don't think anyone has done yet.

Wait does Sliggoo really evolve while it's raining? Ugh I nuked Rain dance on him.

According to someone, I forget who it was, I think it was on this page or a page back, rain dance doesn't work to evolve Sliggoo. It requires rain from it actually raining in the area.

there seems to be a way to get dw abilities on the starters:

I've completed all missions levels 1-3 and it won't unlock Level 4? Is there a badge requirement?

Do we know what move tutors teach in the game, and where they're located?

Really hoping I can teach Houndoom dark pulse :V

where can I find the aerodactyl fossil? I broke all the stones in the cave where you fight against team flare but I can't find it! (a friend of mine with Y found it there...)

I'll ask this again because it probably got lost in the other posts.

Was "Volcanion" ever found to be the Japanese name of any Pokemon. It isn't Delphox or Fletchinder and there are no Kalos Fire types that haven't had their Japanese name revealed so unless the name means something else entirely, Volcanion might be an event.
