Pokemon X and Y SPOILER Discussion Thread

Oh man, the third Looker mission is full of Japanese that you're not supposed to be able to read, but I was reading it the whole time, haha. It was weird, the game was like "you can't understand," but I could, easily.

Turns out I didn't talk to the guy because I'd already talked to him before getting the badge that triggers the event -_-

Also, anyone knows how do I trigger the upgrade to the Mega Ring? I finished the E4 and took a walk around the world capturing Zygarde, mewtwo, getting most TMs and exploring the enw city, yet i can't trigger...

Also, is the lumiose bug very common?

Do a round in the Battle Maison so your rival appears for another battle, beat them, and it'll trigger.

So my friend only just beat the first gym, but she really wanted a Goomy. I only had female, and another friend had a male Sliggoo so we each gave one to her. We forgot that she can't control them, so now she's trying to breed them. The pokemon have been in the Day Care Center for like 6 hours or so, but still haven't produced an egg. Shouldn't they have made an egg by now?

Damn, they don't even respect her enough to make babies.

What's up with this area?

I have a hard time believing that they made me go all out of the way for just a full heal

Does anyone know how the isolate IVs and base stats from the stat formula? I have a bunch of Clauncher in a box and I can only get to the (IV + 2*BS) point.

Is she moving around? Egg production is based on taking steps

You have 2 unknown variables, so it's not really possible unless you can somehow find out one of them.

In the meantime, just treat it as one number ("base stat").

That's what I figured, but people are coming up with estimates... so are they just assuming that the highest and lowest they've found so far are 31 and 0 and waiting for them to converge on the right answer?

I'm not sure... I asked her just now but of course now she's idling on skype... I bet she fell asleep again.

They usually calculate the base by taking an average, doing something like assuming 15 IVs. Hence, most numbers that you see you shouldn't take to heart.

Only way I can think of to get base stats one at a time is to figure out how to get a Pokemon with a 0 or 31 IV in a stat, and go to the IV guy somewhere later in the game (I haven't gotten to postgame yet) - I believe he has unique messages for when a Pokemon has 0 or 31 in a stat. From there, it's simple to get the base stat at lv. 50 and up, after removing EVs.

Ok so the nature of an egg is random unless one of the parents is holding an Eviolite, and in that case the egg has a 50% chance of taking the nature of that parent, correct? Is there any other way to influence nature for eggs? Synchronize doesn't help?

If one of the parent is holding an everstone, not a Eviolite it will 100% pass down the nature.

It's been that way since Black and White 2.

So I looked at the Claunchers I caught...

Speed (IV + 2*BS) = 116
Speed (IV + 2*BS) = 85.4555

(They're level 25 so it's not perfect)

Difference of 30.54545... I should probably keep and train these two right? :P

Hey guys I think 8 Soothing Bags max your pokemon happiness.

I used 6 on my Azurill and it took some forth and back on the day care route and a few battle. It was on level 5, it evolved on level 10.

Hopefully someone can locate the EV hold items and a fair amount of older pokemon soon so we can get perfect IVs on the old ones and chain breed them onto the new ones. Time consuming but foolproof.

With breeding in the past, whenever you had an egg, the Pokémon that hatched from it would always be within a standard Poké Ball. However, as of Pokémon X & Y, this all changes. From now on, the Poké Ball the egg hatches in is now solely based upon the ball that the mother was caught in. So, if you're breeding a female Pokémon you caught in a Dusk Ball with a male Pokémon in a Cherish Ball, the baby will always be inside the Dusk Ball.

Everything I ever wanted <3

Either that, or
wait for the guys doing Pokecheck to update with XY support @_@

My Mega Gardevoir's sp atk stat is 283.

Holy shit. Seriously this thing would murder anything that gets in its way, which my regular Gardevoir could already do. I guess this is why the stone was saved for post game? Hahaha...

Mega Mawile has a maximum possible attack of 678. Before swords dance. It also learns priority moves.

As a member of the #Teamboth master race I can trade a mawile with its Megastone and use it the moment I get a Mega Ring.

Well don't I feel special. He also offered the Blastoisite for 50k afterwards. I pretty much did everything there was to do in Lumiose city including the Looker sidequest and getting my Froo Froo Poodle a dandy new perm.

And yet that nice lady at the salon still won't gimme another hairstyle other than the medium perm. What do I have to do for you, lady?!

So for those who have completed the game what do you think the chances are for them pulling a sequel as opposed to a third version? Would the story lend itself well to a sequel?

Finally beat the game(well, main game, I'll be starting end game now I guess) and the credits were cute. I got a badge of honour, people cheered me on, some homeless guy attacked me. Pretty great stuff.

Now to catch some legendary's.

Not really answering your question, but what I'd rather they do is release an awesome upgraded version with tons of new things in the vein of Emerald or something.

Need to evolve my Sligoo and it isn't raining anywhere, grr. Anyone have any advice or am I just going to have to get lucky?
