Wii U eshop Games

Ugh... some people in the PCARS thread have suggested that the WiiU version might probably get cancelled. Fuck I was looking forward to the game on WiiU.

Isnt that game crowd funded? How can you cancel the WiiU version when people have funded the game that would make no sense.

Looking at the other replays seems just people saying stuff with 0 evidence

Watch Nintendo revealing bunch of these new indie games at a Direct before 31st (Secound Quarter Earnings Release). Would make sense in my opinion. The exposure is from different planet than just tweeting "ok here's a screenshot of our new game".

So just yesterday I heard about the game FORCED and that it's coming to Wii U. There's an interview with the team where they talk about the game, their work with Nintendo and that because of Microsoft's policies, they were forced (pun intended) to release the game later than intended on Wii U

http://www.nintendolife.com/news/20..._to_the_wii_u_eshop_and_working_with_nintendo

Microsoft still pulling that stuff? Maybe that's why I haven't seen too many XONE stretch goals on kickstarters.

Yes, the quote in this interview says it clearly:
NL: Do you have a target release window for FORCED?

SG: Not really, and that’s extremely annoying. It’s actually because of Microsoft, the Xbox One requirement is that you’ve not released on another platform before, so what we’re doing is that we have to port it for PS4, Wii U and Xbox One simultaneously, and release it on all three platforms at the same time; that’s annoying because we could in theory release it on Wii U in January or something like that. But now it might be later because we have to do all the porting work on all of them at the same time instead of doing them one by one.

Yes! NinDirect incoming is my bet., too;

I wonder if we are ever going to get any action games that aren't 2D platformers. I have Nano Assault Neo but would like something that looks as good and is perhaps 3rd person.

Guys need help with Super Mario World (virtual console) how do you get two player to work? Have tried assigning different numbers to each controller but no joy.

It was a huge pain for me in Kirby Superstar, since I was using a classic controller plugged into a wii-mote. It defaults to the first wii remote being player 1, with the game pad also being player 1. So I had to connect 2 wii remotes, then turned off the one I wasn't using.

I've changed the gamepad to player 2 and have wiimote player one, but luigi still isn;t controllable :/

Really a big fan of Two Tribes EDGE so far. Currently playing a preview version of the game (as well as Rush and Toki Tori). Big fan of the music. Kinda reminds me of escapeVektor a little in that regard.

Kickstarter: Knite & The Ghost Lights

This time is not a stretch goal, but you need to pledge at list $35 for the Wii U version. But this is not just for the game, you get all the rewards from $35 and below.

Imagine taking a hand-crafted world and turning it into an amazing side-scrolling adventure. Knite & The Ghost Lights delivers a mixture of adventure, storytelling, and action from games we know and love like Metroid and Castlevania, but with a completely fresh feel for today’s gamer.

Im really tired of the amount of 2D indie games
In a month or two, check out EDGE and RUSH by Two Tribes (maker of Toki Tori 2+). Both are puzzle games in 3D space. Really enjoyable. Plus they will both be cheap, like $3 or so.

Also, you prob won't like me as a indie dev then, I think most of my Wii U games will end up being 2D. :P

Yeah and everyone should get it. For $2 this is not even up for discussion.
This. Even though I now technically have a near-complete build of those 3 games by them, I'm totally buying them for real to give them allmymoneys.gif

RUSH is pretty cool as well. Very challenging so far for some of the early levels.

I picked Toki Tori 2 back up after a few month hiatus. This game is absolutely brilliant in pretty much every aspect. I feel bad for those who haven't played it, due to its art-style or whatever.

This is pretty much the best download title I've ever played. And yeah, I played Journey.

Edit: To make it clear, if you enjoy video games and you haven't played this and have no intention of ever doing so, please turn in your membership cards...you have poor taste and should be ashamed.

Comments like this are really disappointing, immature and unnecessary.

And I find it disappointing that some would disregard one of the best puzzle-adventure games ever made because the visual style doesn't click with them.

Sorry, it's bullshit that Toki Tori 2 is barely mentioned when people start in to their 'best indie games' lists.

Some of these games look like cheap flash titles, but hopefully they don't like like them.

That's good to see Knite & The Ghost Lights did get funded.

Yeah... there are other problems in Toki Tori 2 than the visual style. I like the ideas behind the game mechanics in theory, but the game is kind of slow moving and confusing at the same time.

If the game is mechanically confusing, you aren't paying enough attention to your surroundings. If you mean navigation is confusing...you aren't paying enough attention to your surroundings.

Call of Duty is not as confusing as TT2. I need someone to tell me where to go next!
Quarter game spoiler, kinda.

You eventually learn a song that allows you an overhead view of the world map and lets you drop to different way points. Places of interest will shine blue. You warp to the nearest way point and make your way to the blue shiny.

The + update also shows a trail of feathers, indicating where you've already been.

So, Wii Sport Club will be released on November 7th and it just received some updates:

Wii Sports Club - Tennis Controls Showcase: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jz_ihfm4bg

It seems that if your Wii U have enough free space, the SpotPass function will download it automatically
It will have a 24h free trial
Once a new game will be released (aka Baseball and Golf) you can try them out for free for 24h, together with the previous games that maybe you already tested

Golf and Baseball will implement E3 2011 demo showcase idea:
Golf

- Use the GamePad and the TV screen
- Place the GamePad on the floor first, as shown in Wii U’s concept video back at E3 2011
- Ball is shown on the GamePad screen by your feet
- Fairway is on the TV screen
- Play like real golf
- If you face the Wiimote Plus toward the GamePad by your feet, the head of the club appears on screen
- If you twist the Wiimote Plus controller, the club head also turns
- Hit in that position and you can hit a fade and so forth
- Coming “soon”

wiiu_golf.png

Baseball

- Swing the Wiimote Plus like a bat
- Pitcher uses the GamePad
- Also similar to the Wii U concept video
- Look into the GamePad and choose a course and type of pitch

Boxing

“For Boxing, we’re considering a lot with regard to network compatibility and so on. I think you’ll have to wait a little longer for that.”

Can't wait.

actually it is wiisport with new "interface-modes", but no brand new content was mentioend, I think. so probably they will

I won't get too upset right now because nothing is confirmed, but I already mastered that course 6 years ago. It'd be nice to get the other tennis court surfaces with different properties as well, but that's not a big problem.

I'm not saying that it is right to not add new coursed. I'm just saying that this isn't exaclty a new game (it's not Wii Sport U, retail disc version), but an eshop games based on previous Wii Sport contents, "remastered".

We are getting new gamepad uses for golf and baseball, motion plus controls for all the games (I think: no details on Boxe, up to now), 1080p native, 60fps, new textures, online mode, Miiverse integration and the new sale model

So for what we saw I don't know if we should expect new proper contents

That's a pretty impressive eShop list actually. Adelman and co. deserve a lot of credit for that. I wonder how the sales are for the titles that are out and will be for later ones.
