Mid-range PC indeed.

absolutely love the ambiance created by the muted light of the lantern and candles in the dusty, cold rooms. i hope that's what they are going for when they talk about the horror aspects of the game.

Fuck. I really hope we get some gameplay footage before the year is up.

Game looks stunning. The setting is incredibly appealing.

Dunno why people are calling this game steampunk though. It really isn't.

I think CA is going to be the new cool-to-hate graphical feature for this generation just as bloom was once upon a time. That said, none of these features are bad when used in moderation or when mood, tone and setting is taken into consideration.

I don't really know how you can't appreciate this in stills even. I'm struggling to think of a game with this type of visuals that looks better. From that short video clip last week I thought it looked less rich and saturated in detail than TLOU, now that makes me sound like an idiot.

It's even more insane that RAD is basically a small team, I had no idea they'd be able of producing something like this.
See: Killzone 2. Looks horrible in screenshots, yet beautiful in motion.

The Order looks great to me to me in screenshots but it was the reveal trailer that seriously impressed me. It practically looked CG. However, I have faith that's exactly what we will see in game. The assets look the same, and the post-processing looks high quality.

Look at the edges of the character's face.

I see nothing. I feel like I'm literally seeing the same image twice.

The screen shots look quite nice, but the Chromatic Aberration looks absolutely horrible.

Photography is a hobby of mine and I make sure to remove any Chromatic Aberration that shows up in my pics. Heck, Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, DxO Optics and dozens of other tools automatically remove Chromatic Aberration.

Chromatic Aberration is caused by a DEFECT in the lens design (more correctly, imperfections). The fact that RAD is actually adding DEFECTS to their pristine pictures makes the artist in me very sad.

Pristine cinematography is dated and gross. Plenty of directors add a bit of flaw and grit to the image

Extremely nitpicking... I noticed it after 2 min looking at the picture.

What is CA actually supposed to do? Cheap AA?

I actually think it looks really well when the BG is out of focus. It blends better. The right one is too sharp, and makes contrast with the bg.

Props to RAD for being open about their development. While a lot of developers tend to do "making of" videos they often don't show too much of the actual pipeline process this early on. For a while I myself was unsure of what or when to post things during development but I think this format has helped me form a better idea.

Really excited to see the engine at work. Hopefully the technology is from SSM and thus open to others working with them.

So this game looks pretty beautiful. I dig the effects and filters, too.

My only worry about the aspect ratio is it'll look super small if I remote play'd it to my Vita. Although, I guess with a game that looks this good, I'd probably want to play it exclusively on my TV anyway.
