Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 3: Ridley's Believe It or Not!

Wow, so much ridiculous Sonic hate here.

Awesome pic of the day, the Windy Hill stage looks gorgeous. Not helping me stave off my hype for Sonic: Lost World...

Still surprised we never got anything Pokémon X/Y-related besides that Xerneas tease. Weird.

I stlill don't think its a stage, rather a part of Adventure mode, mark my words.
Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde with Serena trainer

I'm assuming Super OP?

Yveltal is too big...

Another reminder of the repulsive taint Sonic brings to this outstanding series.

LOL. I hate Sonic in Smash, but people like it, so, yeah, I guess.

Oh, Sonic stuff... :/

I hope they have a Nintendo Direct where they announce the removal of all things Sonic.

I'm curious with your reasons for hating on sonic or against him being included in Super Smash Bros4. I was surprised with some of your responses especially Eat hildren because I don't even remember you ever spoke out against Sonic unless my memories are failing for me.

I loathe Sonic in Brawl but I really enjoy to playing as Sonic in Project Melee so I hope that he's way better in SSB4.

Hope so, this has to be the longest we've gone without really getting anything.

We got Xernas last Friday so we still have one more day to go for this week.

The legend of zelda is one of my top 5 favorite franchises yet adult Link has sucked in every smash game so far. Dont see why being bad should be a knock against a character

Because tourney players want all the fun removed?

Nah he says "items are unfair because everyone can simply hit Grab". More like items are random.

Unlike Ridley, Pokemon are able to accommodate Smash scale :P

Xerneas
B - Moonblast
Up B - Geomancy
Side B - Megahorn

Yveltal
B - Oblivion Wing
Up B - Phantom Force
Side B - Sucker Punch

Zygarde
B - Dragon Pulse
Up B - Extreme Speed
Side B - Land's Wrath

Final Smash
Ultimate Weapon

The joy of playing SSB entirely casually with friends: Even the worst character is still viable as long as no one plays with his "main" character :D

I think the Sonic hate is because of Lost World's mixed reception last week. Personally I think the stage (or scenery, if it's part of an Adventure mode) looks great. Really thrilled at Sonic's return to the arena (especially after Mega Man being unveiled). I'm very excited to see what the team have planned for the handheld version. Strongly expecting a Sonic Rush or Colours representation knowing how popular they are, honestly though I would prefer the former (would prefer something other than a forest but won't bitch if they do) or one of the older games (GameGear or GBA).

Anyone else have characters they literally CAN NOT play?

I actually have this with Ness and Lucas.

I can relate. With my style, I just don't see any reason to play them, and whenever I try I just find them extremely difficult to get used to. Everyone else I'm pretty much okay with.

I have a question for everyone too... Which character has your favourite Meteor Smash?

For me, it'd probably have to be Toon Link, because when it actually connects, it's one of the most satisfying things ever. Wolf, Marth and Zero Suit Samus (her Flip Jump and Plasma Wire) are awesome too.

Nope, he said there wouldn't be another subspace emissary like mode with cut-scenes again. The two things can be different as little in game cutscenes (not pre-rendered) will probably be easier to do.

Difficulty in rendering cutscenes wasn't the reason given for not having subspace emissary. It was some BS about people posting the story online.

I'm loving the Sonic hate on here! :) But if he's easily hated, I have no idea how he's still popular, all these shitty games and he didn't get Crash Bandicooted? I mean I guess if kids still buy up your games you can survive but still it baffles me how he survived on mediocre to horrible gameplay and poor soundtracks for so long.

I officially don't like you.

I'm ok with Lucas, but Ness? Once I'm off the main platform that's it. Can't control his UP+B for shit.

Another example probably would be King Dedede. He's just so damn slow. Before I connect any hit my friends will just have dodged, backed away or counter-attacked. Also not a big fan of his UP+B, I end up suiciding myself with it so often...

A devoted, big fanbase, as well as his previous games actually being well received is a start. That and I don't see how he doesn't belong in Smash if Mega Man can be in. Having the only other character who stood a chance against the face of video games in a crossover is a pretty big deal.

Lol @ poor soundtracks though.

UK = the reason Sonic is still popular.

Ah so that's why Nintendo is UK's weakest market. Still bitter about the Sega vs Ninty days!

I really enjoy to landing meteor smash with almost all of characters. I will list specific moves that I considered to be my favorite when I get back.

Diddy Kong.

It's just so fucking primal.

Fuck Naruto. Any true Smash fan is holding out for Luffy.

We already have luffy. He was in brawl.

Haha, I don't mind Sonic in Smash. He fits like a glove and for the way I see the series is one of the most appropriate third party additions. I don't think it would be right to dabble in third party mascots and not include Sonic, given the mascot's history, especially relative to Nintendo. If it were up to me he wouldn't be removed.

I'm mostly trolling / posting hyperbole. I've long felt Sonic is one of the most mangled and poorly handled legacy mascots in the entire medium. I fucking loathe Sega's general direction with the franchise. It's like the anti-Mario: much of why Mario has remained relevant and appealing to all ages, Sonic ignored and pissed away. Kind of ironic, and funny in retrospective.

I can appreciate the mascots relevance to the medium, and welcome him to Smash with open arms (even if he played pretty rubbish in Brawl). But that won't stop me hating on the shitty series, its shitty games, and shitty characters.

Marth's is a lot of fun to hit Fox/Falco out of their recovery with. Although Ice Climbers has a pretty weird one with their fair, considering only the second climber can spike with it.

].

To be fair though, sonic tends to do pretty ok, there are plenty of sonic fans of all ages.

he isn't megaman.

When i grew up, there were a whole mess of kids who did know who the hell megaman was. Seriously. They know mario and sonic, not megaman.

I blame all the mediocre reviews for Lost World. Which is a shame, because if I listened to every review, I would have missed out on Generations and Colors.

He's not talking about sales, he's talking about how its handled. Sonic never stayed 100% true to his character. Generations pretty much showed how badly he had fallen. I think Mega man was handled better. He branched into different series but never killed off any of the original ones.

Eh, I dunno.
The first time I actually liked sonic as a character besdies a means to get across a screen. Was adventure one and two.

So who sonic is , is variable from person to person. So for me, sonic is true to his character, remember other people had childhoods too. Game quality, yeah ha had a shit games. He has a lotta good ones too. Some people think the bad ones are good. so Eh.
