Not that I’ve not said it or mentioned it. But the triggers on the Duelsense are AWFUL and add nothing

Switch 2?

Gamecube was also offset. For me, async vs sync thumbsticks never even registers when I move from one to other. They both are completely natural to me. I'd say the vast majority of PlayStation gamers have no problem with the sticks where they are and Sony has little reason to change them.

Majority of Playstation gamers like cinematic sad dad walking simulators and repackaged Ubislop so that's not an opinion that's important to me. I've been a PS gamer since the original so whatever. I am a "Playstation gamer" as well.

The PS5 controller is like jingling keys. A bunch of flashing lights, noises, shitty trigger gimmicks, and a dreadful battery life. It's bulky ugly clunky trash. Feels like holding a cowpie in your hands. Playskool looking trash.

That was some built up aggression ya got lol Let it out!

Works very well in Cyberpunk 2077 at 55% strength. Cant Imagine playing without it.

Ther cool thing is when you use katanas snd throwing knives it doest apply .

Yep, useless gimmicks only useful to kill the battery faster.

And your opinion on "sad dad walking simulators" isn't important or even relevant to the discussion. I never said the "majority" opinion should matter to you. I said that's why the thumbsticks will likely not change.

I'll defer to your expertise on how "cowpie" feels in the hand

The only game I've played where it's used for shooting and done well is Returnal. It's used as some kind of mod activation for the weapon.

Yeah the PS5 has the flatest R2 L2 I've ever felt. GameCube was the best with there controllers. Sony has never really done good with triggers other than PS4. I loved the PS4 dualshock controller, the R2 L2 was curved perfectly! The Xbox, 360, One, Series, are all perfect at well. But PS3 and PS5, oh man just absolutely the most flatest crap on earth for triggers.

I basically just keep mine wired. Just hardly worth it to me. Least it does not have to be wired to the console and I can just plug it in right next to me on the couch.
My PS5 controller is the only one I keep plugged in at the entertainment center. I keep my switch 2 and Xbox controllers in my couch console.

Some people are completely set in their ways, stubbornly so, and unwilling to give something new, different, a try. We're humans, we can adapt. I guess you are not, and that is YOUR weakness. Be adaptable. :D

Can't say I agree. Love the adaptative triggers and rumble on the dualsense.
I miss it when I play on PC (with my DS4).

Returnal was possibly the only time were I thought, that's sorta nice. And it's a game I am not really liking, can't ever get into it, and abandoned it several times already.
I especially hate it in Trackmania. A game were I have the gas pedal down 99% of the time and it is just pointless that the motor even tries to do something.
I keep it on just in case it ever feels okayish in another game, but overall a feature that is almost as useless as the touchpad which is pretty much always just three buttons.

Can't Duel sense be used on PC?

I don't have a problem with the battery being built-in but if you are going to do that then don't go shit cheap on its capacity. Playing a game like Ghost of Yotei, I'm probably playing 1/4 of the time with the damn thing plugged in. That's why I finally bought a replacement battery.
Just get one of those docking wall chargers and swap with another spare controller if you have one. I have never needed to stay plugged in, and one controller usually lasts me the whole day. I put it right back on the charger, and if I end up having a longer gaming session (where the controller is near or close to dying), then I do the swap, but that is not that often.

Yeah but I just have one and constantly re-pairing it with the PC or console is annoying. I'd rather just have a separate controller for each
Though I think they updated (or will update?) the Dualsense so it can be paired with multiple devices at once. I have to look into that.

Unfortunately, I only have one dualsense edge and I've become so used to back buttons that going back to regular DualSense just doesn't work for me. I'd rather play with Edge plugged in. That's just me though.

Yes this was apparently fixed with the latest firmware update

Haptic is great, it's fantastic. But yeah, some games I can see adaptive being nice, but just your everyday game like GTA or something, it's so off putting.

It should emulate a real trigger, so the deeper you push the firing rate goes up but it ended being something ridículous, like a soft lock. Dunno what they were thinking. Luckily they added an option to turn it off, thank god

I like them, very satisfying on RE4 using the bolt action rifle and feeling the trigger give way when you fire and a ganado head goes pop, but they can get tiring for your fingers after a long play session.

If they didn't I would have to just not play it, unplayable imo with them on in that specific game.

I haven't played many games using the motor for the trigger for some resistance, only Ratchet & Clank: Ripped a Fart, I think.
The big selling point for the controller is the haptics. It enhances everything. Even Switch emulation.

Ripped a fart lol Clever clever

Kinda forgot about that game. Need to check it out

The triggers don't have "rumble", but maybe you mean the adaptive resistance.

It's great in games that implement it well. Adds just a little bit of extra immersion.

But when it's shoe horned in like GTA V, it made the game unplayable to me. Till I realized it can be turned off

All PR BS in my opinion. I disable all this shit when I play PS5 games. Dualsense battery is a joke, to even use this Dualsense will never last.

OP, please consider the customer bases who posts on the purple form and what special interests they might have in vibrating plastic. It will start to make sense. If you've recently eaten lunch, please accept my apologies.

It made Black Ops 6 unplayable to me until i turned it off, i push the trigger and it stopped half way then have to push It again. I dont know who designed that to be honest but its counter intuitive

The haptic feedback is more impactful than the adaptive triggers IMO. The way you can actually feel the game is awesome when implemented well (which is mostly in first party games).

Yeah, seem to recall a brand new update for PC gaming, not tested it myself.

it's literally just cool vibrations. It'sa gimmick that adds nothing. I also tried astrobot (another one praised for this) and still nothing, not worth the extra wasted battery

My brain doesn't click with the resistance on the triggers. Using the bow in GoT and it just felt like I had a broken trigger because of how it felt.

The haptics are fine, and I prefer them to just the rumble on the triggers of the Xbox controllers. That said I still main an Xbox controller when using a PC because it's just more comfortable than a Dual Sense.

As for GT7? Ehh... Truforce on my DD Logitech Pro conveys way more information. The only thing it's missing is rumble on the brake pedal, though the option to also drive a butt kicker to vibrate my whole seat would also be nice.

False. Feeling the rain on the controller in Astrobot, or the hoofs on the ground when galloping in Ghost, it's really great.

I enjoy it. I don't see why you don't just turn it off instead of complaining about it?
honestly this, I don't understand why people get so riled up about things they can just disable (ditto with all the people who rail against trophies/achievements as if you can't just ignore them)
