I run a Prankster set with Will-o-Wisp, Foul Play, Recover, and Taunt. You can beat any physical attacker one on one by burning it then hitting it with its own Attack stat; as all your moves other than Foul Play have priority, it's difficult to outplay and KO. I've had many opponents not catch on and keep sending physical attackers against it. Priority Confuse Ray really annoys people too, if you want to run that instead.

Its Ghost typing makes it a hilarious switch-in to High Jump Kick Blaziken, too. With prediction, you can alternate between Sableye and a Flash Fire user to beat Blaziken without taking damage.

Not bad, not bad. I havn't really gone in depth with battling like this. I usually just collect and train Pokemon.

Uh..what. I bred an Eevee and as soon as I gave it a Rare Candy (trying to find its IVs), it tried to evolve into Espeon. Did they change the happiness amount in this game?

I did it. I beat Pocket Monsters Y. I'm the best.

Greninja@Life Orb

252 SAtk/252 Spe/4 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump/Surf
- U - Turn
- Grass Knot/HP [Fire] <--- (Seems like more trouble than it's worth to get)

Ok, so I'm think either Greninja or Starmie for the last mon, just for the hit and run special attacks they could do. Alternatively, there's

Starmie@Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Timid
252 Spd/252 SAtk/ 4 SpDef
- Hydro Pump/Surf
- Psychic/Thunderbolt
- Rapid Spin
- Ice Beam

the Starmie set seems to cover fighting and dragon/flying types, so I'm not sure what to do

So where exactly do you find out your Pokemon's IVs in-game? Within Super Training?

You can find any 31s by speaking to the 'Judge' in Kiloude City Pokémon Center - he'll say the stat "can't be beat" if it's 31. The characteristic in the Summary screen also tells you the stat your best IV is in (and its value mod 5).

I take it that you didn't turn your 3DS upside down when your Inkay reach level 30 to evolve it?
NOPE! I didn't look online for stuff 'til I finished the game. Sometimes asked friends. I only had a 5 Pokemon party and would rotate out the last slot for different Pokemon trying to evolve them.

Who the hell would know that without being told? :lol
yeah, i was honestly a bit annoyed when i found that out because it seems like yet another thing that you wouldn't know unless you had looked online.

HOWEVER, i have since realized that someone probably had to do it first in order for it to be spread online.

It took me 3 levels before I could evolve mine. You have to hold it upside down BEFORE it gains a level.. yeah, that's bad

yeah, I screwed up the first time too
the 2nd time I just held the entire 3DS upside down the whole battle as Yveltal spammed Dark Pulse in the Battle Chateau :lol

Nope, well it COULD have happened but the method was originally leaked back in May along with a few other things such Pancham's evolution method and the existence of the Fairy type.

Probably the biggest accident ever. More likely it's through a datamine or Nintendo put it out somewhere themselves

What is this you speak of?

Sorry to double post guys, cravin dat new page

This works now, but it won't last long, I think. Please trade me Yveltal, Moltres, and Zapdos and I'll shut up about it all!

Edit: Quote Fail...
1. Lead with fainted pokemon with Compound Eyes ability
2. Next slot is for level 50+ pokemon that knows thief
3. Fly to Dendemille town
4. Walk to Rt. 15, go to down the stairs into the ruins
5. Encounter Magneton
6. Use Thief to steal metal coat
7. Flee from battle
8. Unequip metal coat from thief-mon
9. Fly to Snowbelle City
10. Walk to Rt. 21
11. Catch a level 50+ Scyther
12. Equip that dude with the Metal Coat
13. Deposit into GTS, ask for Xerneas/Yveltal
14. Wait 6 hours

I have 4 extra Xerneases now. Trying to find a way to convert them to Yveltal/Zapdos/Moltres. Please copy this method and trade with me! I'm going to deposit a Xerneas for an Articuno now, if that works, we'll have a perfect system for trading legendaries!

Quick question.

In terms of beating the Elite Four, what Pokemon would you drop to bring in Aegislash.

Jolteon
Greninja
Venusaur
Lucario
Pidgeot
Charizard

Thanks.

Just caught the Z-man. Ever since gen 4 or so I've stopped preparing for legendary captures, I just go in as I find them and it takes a handfull of balls. Wasn't any different this time! :lol oh well.

I feel so empty when I try to catch something without my Smeargle. I caught near 90% of my stuff with that guy since Platinum. Hurry up Bank :(

I'm thinking of picking this up today...A few questions first! Note that I haven't really played a Pokemon game to any serious degree (as in, for more than like, 2 hours) since R/B/Y.

1) I was going to get X because I like the Legendary and Charizard X...But I really like Mewtwo Y. Is it possible to get version exclusive Mega Evolutions in the other versions?

2) Any Pokemon can be traded through the Trade Network, correct? So if I wanted a Kabuto, can I still get one? Or if, for some reason, I wanted an Unown?

3) An extension of 2...Is it possible to "catch them all" still? Or are some Pokemon simply unobtainable right now?

4) Did I miss any exclusive trade or network only Pokemon since the release?

Is Sand Veil still illegal in competitive play, or was this only part of Smogon's rules?

Well I don't use it on my chomp cause I find it kinda unfair.

As for the team question however,

Physical Wall-Hippodown. Sand Stream gives you additional weather poke and you could throw a toxic in there.

Special Sweeper-Anything really that supports this team, maybe Magic Guard Alakazam with life orb or hell a Trick Room Reinculus.

You could even just give Hippodown Stealth Rocks.

First time breeder here, actually the last poke game I played was Yellow :lol

What you want to do is to first plan what you want to get, including nature and iv's. Generally you dont need the 6 perfect IV's as is really unlikely you will make a pokemon use both Special and Physical attacks, so aiming for 4 or 5 perfect IV should be fine. Depends on your strat mostly, I guess stallers wont need either special or physical attack.

Next, you really need to get to the post game and get a friend safary with either the pokemon you want or ditto. In the safari pokemons always have 2 perfect IV's so you can pass those down.

Got that? Now, you will need to get a pokemon with syncronize and the desired nature, I got a bunch of raltz with the natures I found useful and keep track of them on a excel sheet. Why we need that? because a pokemon with syncronize that starts a battle will have a 50% chance of encounter a wild pokemon of the same nature. Also you need a pokemon with flame body, like the small fire bird from the early game (he needs to evolve iirc).

I am aiming for a Modest (increases sp attack but decreases attack) Bulbasaur with as many perfect IV as possible and it must include Sp. Attack, but not Attack as I wont use that one. On top of that, I want the hidden ability.

Now, with the raltz leading the party and equiped with the smoke ball (so he can escape any battle with other mons) I ran to get a couple of ivysaurs from the safary. Got like 5-6 of them, both sex and checked the IV's with the IV checker on the same city. Selected a pair with different IV's and just put the aside.

The next step is to get em ready for the day care. You want to equip them with some hold items, the desnty knot and the everstone.
The destiny knot will make sure the mons will inherit 5 IV's at random from the parents. And the everstone will make them inherit the nature of the holder.
Put them on the day care and get eggs.

Get the eggs and put the mon with flame body in your party, eggs will hatch in half the time.

Everytime you get a new batch of mons, go and check the IV's. If you get one with the desired skill, and more than 2 perfect IV's, use it to replace the one parent on the day care so the eggs have better chances to inherit good IV's. Repeat until you start getting 4 IV's mons.

In my case, because I'm an idiot, I got my 4 perfect IV pokemon with HP, Defense, Sp Defense and Speed. But no SP attack, and that was my target! So what I'm doing now is breeding a 4 perfect IV female bulbasaur with Sp Attack, and when I get one, I'll put it together with the other one and try to aim for 5 perfect IV.

Edit: You dont have to do the same proces for each one. I will use a almost perfect male bulbasaur to be the father of my next project (asuming is in the same egg group, like a charmander), so next time it should be faster.
That is a very well-put and simple explanation. Will start this whole process tonight. Thank you very much!

1) Basically just trading with someone else online

2) Yes, you can request or search for any Pokemon

3) Yes, there are done that will have no method of being obtained until Pokebank goes live

4) Torchic should still be available in mystery gift . That's it, though

Heliolisk gets Sand Veil and a nice spread of moves, so he'd work pretty well as a Special Sweeper on a sand team

1. in order to get mewtwo y, you need to get the item that is exclusive to y. if someone trades it to you (attached to a pokemon), it will work fine.
2. any pokemon can be traded.
3. there are pokemon that are unobtainable right now, but that will open up when the pokemon bank app goes live at the end of december and a whole ton of people start importing pokemon from previous games.
4. i think the torchic distribution is still going on. i just did it this weekend.

1) by trading, yes.

2) & 3) yes, Kabuto is available and all pokemon are tradeable. Some pokemon are unavailable as of now, though.

4) no

Thanks for the answers guys. I'll probably still pick up X since I really do like the Legendary better. I'll just have to see if they ever do some sort of distribution with the other version items later maybe.

Sorry Steelix, I thought you'd be an awesome tank but so far you have disappointed me, you're out.

My core team goes back to:

-Venomoth
-Marowak
-Crobat

Mandibuzz is in but until I can teach her Overheat with B/W move tutor she'll have to wait. Now I need a tank in my team and I'm thinking to go to the good 'ol reliable Cloyster.
