Eurogamer: Microsoft has hired Jonathan Ross to work on Xbox

He used to present a program called Japanorama, due to his love of all things Japanese. Guess that doesn't apply to PS4....

Saw him tweet something earlier mentioning how much he loved Forza and there was a Mountain Dew mention or hashtag or something. May well be the UK Dorito Pope.

First Top Gear on Forza 5 , now this.

Xbox 1 = Britain's box

Sure top gear has been on Forza since Forza 3.

Jonathan Ross has his own production company and his wife is a successful screenwriter, package deal?

There was always talk of Xbox TV, looks like it may happen.

I think Ross will be in charge of Inside Xbox, assuming they bring it back.

No, not even close.

Oh my bad then. All i can recall since then is him growing an awful guy Fawkes style 'tash and appearing on the big fat quiz of the year.

Norton seems to have taken his place and even alan carr's chatty man seems a more popular chat show option. But yeah, maybe i'm wrong...

I don't understand this move at all. If his role is to be a spokesperson, why get a UK personality and not one more recognizable to American consumers, their biggest market? If he's a consultant, then why hire a guy known for being a television host? I read his wiki page, I did not see any accomplishments related to gaming, why him?

Matt Hill, a journo, on Twitter says : "Ross consulting on games and entertainment projects, Xbox says"

So I guess more of a creative consultancy gig than promotion.

Maybe local TV stuff for Xbox Live among that, I guess.
