I'm pretty sure you need two wiimotes (if the game was 2 player on the Wii). However, you can now use your GamePad as a TV (like for the display) for Wii games if that's something you want.

I am definitely going to wait until then to see. I'm hoping for something like the Super Mario Bros U bundle with 3DWorld thrown in or $50 off.

Nintendo would be crazy to bundle the Wii U game mostly likely to sell this holiday with the Wii U on Black Friday when it releases a week prior to Black Friday.
3D World won't be bundled by Nintendo this year. Don't keep your hopes up.
Who said Nintendo would be the one bundling or giving the discount? The NSMBU bundle is a pretty good deal already, though.

It's true other retailers might bundle it. We'll see. For some reason I'm expecting European ones to do that more than US ones, partly b/c it's doing even worse there.
Reviews are out. Both ports are good. Origins is even the best performing version out there right now. ACIV trumps the last-gen versions in several aspects as well. This is all second hand info from around here and videos and pics. I don't own any of them myself (yet).

I own Origins and it is a very well done port. From reading through the OT, it seems the Wii U version has by far the least bugs and glitches of all versions, and it looks good and runs well for the most part as well.
I can't speak about ACIV.
Assassin's Creed IV looks and plays fine. Haven't had any framerate issues or any serious glitches. I haven't played the current gen versions so I have no substantive basis for comparison on how much better it looks.

Dunno, do you guys use screen protectors on the tablet? Is there an easy way to transfer wii saves to wii u? And you can do homebrew on wii u right?
It is highly recommended to use a screen protector, yes.
They're dirt cheap and don't affect the screen's responsiveness.
You can download the Wii to Wii U system transfer app.
Here's a video explaining how to do it
Homebrew is only available for the Wii side of Wii U
Wii U per se hasn't been hacked yet.
Edit: You probably will be welcomed by a big ass system update so be patient.
It is a really cool console once everything is said and done.

Yeah, I meant normal Wii homebrew. I just want to play my Wii games off my hard drive rather than getting the disk on my WiiU. Is there a certain protector people recommend? I was just going to get hori because they've always been good.
Edit: Is there a big difference between the Wii version of monster hunter and the WiiU?

4 additional weapons: Hunting Horn, Bow, Gunlance, and Dual Sword. (8 vs. 12)
5 additional small monsters. (17 vs. 22)
32 additional large monsters, including new subspecies. (18 vs. 50)
G rank (ultra-hard) online quests.
Bowguns have been simplified and now come in pre-built Light and Heavy varieties.

Hori screen protectors are great. Actually I'm using one right now and I'm pretty happy with the results.

I think that if you really loved MH on wii you'll love it on WiiU. It is much of the same but there is a lot added, plus a good online community.

Yeah, I loved the Wii version. I just don't know what was added where you notice much of a difference after playing the Wii version.
+1. Most Wanted is a really fantastic port. Looks amazing as well, I've been using it as showpiece whenever friends want to insist that the PS360 is stronger.
And it's not just that it LOOKS better than those versions, they also made some smart changes to the game that makes it a better game to play with the pseudo co-op mode at the forefront but also less in-your-face things like making the majority of cars accessible right away instead of forcing you to find them and providing easier access to them along with the instant "turn off traffic" option for when you just want to mess around without worrying about crashing into a car immediately.

I can understand people being optimistic about Wii U but to me this list shows its still quite a wasteland out there.
You selected just these three games because these are the only ones that appeal to you? Nothing wrong to be overly selective.
But being optimistic is more about thinking that there are enough people that find more games on that list appealing enough to buy the console.

Sorry I should have been clearer.
I think the games look fantastic and I am excited about all of them but the 3 I mentioned are the only ones I think will help give it a significant bump in sales. Not a huge bump but certainly better than its been.
I don't get the reason why sales are the main focus in a topic that talks about games.

Batman, Ghosts, Black Flag, and 3D World makes for a pretty good holiday season. :3
considering my backlog only on Wii U (W101 still at Mission004, Rayman still to be mine) and how short I am on money and spare time...I'll pick up just Mario, Batman and Scribblenauts Unlimited. And Tennis from Sport Clud. And Fit (free trial)..so, not so few games HAHAHHA
I'll look for AC3 and CoD later on, at lower price. also because of my PS3DS game list...

Yeah, when I went for the one last month, I couldn't find Scribblenauts Unmasked for the Wii U (they had 3DS copies). It's disappointing that they don't have any copies of either of those though.

We started to see this with Vita around the 1 year mark too. Some games are still stocked but if you want to be sure, Amazon seems to be the best bet
