Fitz is majorly friendzoned by Simmons. Even saving her life is only enough for a peck on the cheek.
This whole time I've thought Fitz and Simmons were twins with the surname of Fitzsimmons and the last names were split for cuteness.
It's like you picked up on Skye saying "Captain America" at the start and ignored the other 50 minutes of the show
Dies Iræ;88895100 said:SHIELD isn't a Joss Whedon show. His brother, Jed, and Jed's wife, Mo, are the showrunners and lead writers. Joss is executive producing and, given the current output, his input seems to be minimal.
Remember, Joss trained an entire team of writers during Buffy and they went on to run Angel, Firefly, Spartacus, Battlestar, etc. None of whom are with us for SHIELD. Most people do not realize the extent of Joss' influence in his shows -- he does rewrites on practically every scene and contributes original scenes to many episodes, which he isn't credited for. David Fury and Marty Noxon discuss this at length (can't remember where, it was a DVD commentary).
Joss began as a script doctor and that training enabled him to hire staff, train them, "doctor" their work, and allow them to learn through emulation, mimicry, and collaboration. This time, Joss isn't in the writers room to train the new recruits.
This isn't a Joss Whedon show in the same way that Buffy, Angel, Firefly, and Dollhouse were Joss Whedon shows. It just isn't.
I did like the inclusion of the Chitauri helmet.
Making the actual case-of-the-week be the connection to the movies, with the team having to do clean up work after the big events, that's more interesting to me. Much better than just having random one-liners bringing up the Avengers, the hammer or Captain America.
Also looking forward to the Thor 2 cleanup episode two weeks from now. There's a lot of material they can use from what happened in that movie so it better be good.
WAT :O
That's funny![]()
Well, they're both Irish people around the same age with the same background who apparently have spent much of their lives together and finish each other's sentences. It seemed very twin like to me.
Ward will be dead by the end of the season imo. Fitz being gay wouldn't make sense in context, he seems to have a unrequited/"nice guy" thing going on with Simmons.Simmons will end up with Ward. Calling it now. No one will see it coming.
And Fitz will be gay.
Not really, outside of "Yay, they're including someone in the comics." The most interesting thing about her was she was #2 for HAMMER, which was Norman Osborn's version of SHIELD. With no Osborn and no HAMMER, she's just a SHIELD person. Writers pretty much have carte blanche of what then want to do with her.
Be nice if Simmons/Fitz the girl get powers from this. Electrical generation and mass/density shifting. Nice combo.
I'd like to see how they handle theice beast that crossed the portal and ended stranded here
No it is meant to be corny and tongue in cheek. I mean, come on, Avengers had ton of corny moments.
Following the same vein as Avengers. And the MCU as a whole. Serious with corny thrown in.
With the Netflix announcement, I can see Marvel moving Agents of SHIELD to Netflix if the ratings continue to tank.
It isn't tanking. I do believe it is the #2 show in its timeslot and day.
I've waffled between Coulson being saved by Doctor Strange and going to K'un L'un. In light of recent events, I'm guessing it's going to be the latter.
It's number 2 to NCIS by a few digits, NCIS aka the number one show on TV.
In light of this latest netflix news, is there any chance these new shows could tie in with AOS with character appearances and that sort of thing?
Since Marvel, Disney, and ABC are all one big company now, I don't see why they wouldn't use AOS to attract people to the new shows and promote them on Netflix.
I don't see any reason why Netflix would mind since it would probably help increase subscriptions.
They might also use the Netflix shows to attract people to AOS, and use all of the shows together to get people into theaters.

I'd rather they not have powers, since that defeats the purpose of the show and the actual SHIELD-centric comics aren't like that
Haven't checked back yet, but I don't remember seeing anyone mentioning the Typhoid Mary mention in the latest episode which already seemed like an indication of things to come and now totally is with Daredevil coming to Netflix.
Thought that was pretty cool.
I think that was more of a reference to the real Typhoid Mary.
On the other hand, it is 12 million viewers behind NCIS. It might be #2 behind NCIS, but it is way behind NCIS just like the rest. It's number 2 to NCIS by a few digits, NCIS aka the number one show on TV.
