There is about 10 seconds between when you die in the game and the vr equipment frying your brain. That was established in episode 3 when Kirito gets the revival item. Between Asuna dying and Kirito winning the game is less then 10 seconds real time supposedly

the revive thingie was super special, kirito only got it from beating the christmas themed boss and then gave it to his friend once he found out it only works within 10 seconds

But then is it any different then Kirito not revealing his duel wield skill until after people died? I'm not trying to defend Kirito but in a survival game like SAO it isn't really fair to pick favorites like that. Can you really say Kirito's or Asuna's life is more important then those of any other player trapped in the game?

Seeing as how Kirito and Asuna were constantly killing the bosses and were considered some of the top players in the game and that Klein thought of Kirito as a close pal, yes.

Actually, factually possible. Show's never gone into the specifics of how the VR setup works, so stuff might happen way faster in game than out. It would explain a lot, although I don't like the idea of covering the show's shortcoming with a lack of detail.
