Pokken Fighers?
Fighting games are huge in the west IIRC.
They do about ~1-2 million units for the big ones, except NetherRealm which does around 3+ and Smash which is generally a globally gigantic franchise.

I still get chills when I watch the Twilight Princess reveal reactions video
I would react that way
A pokemon one would do big numbers long term though. That brand has legs and those legs will outlast FGC sales.
It depends on the game no?
I mean if they don't have something unannounced that fits the Spike audience, they might as well show something announced that does.
I kinda miss the Reggie of E3 2004 with the attitude "I'm about kicking ass, taking names".
Zelda U alone fits that bill though. It's just if Nintendo wants to show it or not? Because we know they could if they wanted.
Also I remember the rumours about Human Head developing a game on Wii U.
Human Head or not if they have a game that is even remotely aimed at western audience this would be the place to announce it. Again if it's a new IP it would need to be announced with a lot of publicity and this could be a place to do it.
Agreed with Nirolak. A new trailer for Bayo 2 would seem very appropriate here. Smash would be a good fit, too.
Even though it seems Kirby will be the first "big" 3DS game for 2014, it doesn't seem like a fit for the VGX audience.
I don't see why it would be an appropriate outlet for Smash unless they're going to show characters that appeal to a particular group of people such as Snake.
Uh, didn't Human Head Studios work on the Wii U port of Batman: Arkham Origins?Zelda U alone fits that bill though. It's just if Nintendo wants to show it or not? Because we know they could if they wanted. Also I remember the rumours about Human Head developing a game on Wii U.

Well Zelda U isn't entirely impossible, but I kind of feel that still appeals to the people who knew it was going to happen anyway.
I mean how many potential Wii U customers are there that were thinking "I bet a new Zelda won't come to Wii U."
I'd have to imagine a new IP, an unexpected series return, or a vastly deviated spin-off would be the things that could really drive new customers.
Human Head did the Wii U port of Arkham Origins: http://nintendoeverything.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/batman_arkham_origins_wii_u.jpg
Late last year, Human Head/Nine Realms was hiring part-time Japanese translators to translate "project documentation, written correspondence, and live [conversation]," which I could imagine may very well have been in relation to the Nintendo project.
I'm not sure Mario Kart really fits the Spike VGAs audience.
Who are they targeting with Smash? Every fanboy of the series knows it's coming and has been following the Dojo. I don't see why it would be an appropriate outlet for Smash unless they're going to show characters that appeal to a particular group of people such as Snake.
They will save Zelda for E3.Zelda U should be done by now.
Would not mind a new IP.![]()
Like I said in ither two threads, I think VGX would be perfect event for them to announce Snake for SSB U/3DS.
It would be too funny next to MGS5 trailer that isn't coming to Wii U.
I think that Nintendo initially planned big announcements for their January Direct like this year, but decided to bring them to the VGX in which they can reach a bigger audience. Good move.
When it comes to drawing positive attention towards the Wii U, Zelda U would probably be best. Drawing attention towards a new franchise, X would be best. For sales overall, Smash would probably be best. In my opinion, at least. Got a few interesting ways they could take this.
A new Super Mario 3D World trailer.
Isn't this supposed to be like two times longer than what VGA's were last year? Including extended gameplay demos. Probably could have all of them there if they so wanted.
They're 3 hours long and since it's online only they don't have to run commercials unless they want to since I'm sure publishers would be happy to pay for advertising their own goods.
Split bump.
Assuming he's showing something, I have to imagine it is at least marginally on target for Spike's audience, so I would guess something like Bayonetta 2 or perhaps, though not as likely, X.
Edit: As Mpl90 points out, Smash would be an excellent fit and perhaps the most likely option.
So how does this even work? Are publishers playing Spike to have their products unveiled there? Is Spike actively looking for big reveals to gather interest for the event? Mix of both? Who is paying who?
Reggie is representing Nintendo by getting the GOTY award for Mario 3D Land. Well it could happen.
Wait, so its not being broadcast on Spike TV?They're 3 hours long and since it's online only they don't have to run commercials unless they want to since I'm sure publishers would be happy to pay for advertising their own goods.
