well, going by the last time with catherine, which was announced "winter 2011" and ended up coming out Q1 2012, expect P5 in early 2015. In japan.

Ni No Kuni 2 is cross gen, and Sony is trying to get Dragon Quest back. I still believe that PS4 port is coming, somewhere down the line :/, if the PS4 doesn't die in Japan.

I believe the precedent is Atlus doesn't announce games more than six months before release.

I totally forgot about that, although I can't think of anything that's ever been announced as a vague "winter ___" that's meant the early part of the year. Especially when the Persona 4-milking games are coming out in Summer.

Seems weird that they'd release P5 and then all the fanservice stuff for 3 and 4.

When the Wii U was announced, the pre-release threads were littered with folks who championed the machine would destroy the PS3 in Japan and render it irrelevant. The irony is, the Wii U has failed to do anything but remain a stationary platform in a country where almost all consoles are dead except for the PS3.

Releasing on the Wii U with an install base that is literally a drop in the bucket compared to PS3 is asinine and short sighted. You want console JRPGs? Learn Japanese, play them on PS3, and be grateful the genre excists :/.

If PS4 fails to get any traction, I expect the same, unless Sony goes out of their way to fix the problem before it happens.

I cannot wait for late 2016 when this finally hits European shores because Atlus have decided to slap a region lock on the game, and after another episode of embarrassment, the European release will be a year behind America's, during a time when the PS4 and Bone will have become so entrenched already that no one is going to bother buying a PS3 game anymore.
