Didn't Sega just lay off a bunch of staff in Europe this year?
My guess is Nintendo did talk to Atlus, and they got SMT X FE plus PQ.
I guess Atlus is not willing to give up PlayStation exclusivity, for the fact that they've got soundtracks and TV show series under Sony's hand...
Since Sega bought Atlus, what is the chance of a Steam release?
Is SMT x FE even still a thing?
None. Or at least, far less than the chance it will be localized, if I say so myself.Since Sega bought Atlus, what is the chance of a Steam release?

Given the way mobile tech is evolving if the next device doesn't have 3D it should be more than slightly greater than the Vita. I have no idea what Sony is going to do next though.

I think the chances of it not coming to the west are absurdly slim.I would love to hear that this is coming to the west. Still holding my excitement until then.

In the teaser, every time a new seat appeared, the previous one got chained. What could it mean? Is it a contest to reach freedom?
I'm worried we won't see Persona Q in NA. I'm really digging that title.

Atlus is bringing Conception II over. We'll get Persona Q, don't you worry.
Every time a new Persona game is announced, people worry that it won't get localized.
Every time, the Persona game gets localized.
Eternal Punishment for the PSP wasn't. Unless you are not counting ports.Every time, the Persona game gets localized.
With Sega in charge?

I don't know, maybe cause a darker Persona game that still manages to retain its unique social interactions will always have a bigger potential audience than Waifusona. Remember that Catherine managed to sell on par with P4 despite being a new IP, all while tackling more mature themes. That and Hashino going on record about wanting to shake things up in the next numbered title. Why would they go in a completely different direction when Persona 3 and 4 are as popular as they are?
Maybe it's like a mix between people becoming shadows in Persona 2 and lost ones in persona 3, they become mind controlled zombies?
Or perhaps the characters of Persona 5 are in some way enslaved to their persona's after they awaken.
Also, Inoticed there were 5 chains. I wonder what that could mean?and probably everyone else
Half-life 3 confirmed?
Ooooooo Personas as a curse. I like it. I like it a lot. An interesting, different approach from what we've seen before. Would be a good way to change things up.
I keep forgetting that's a thing.Eternal Punishment for the PSP wasn't. Unless you are not counting ports.
Since when has nintendo kept up with the technological curve? But who knows. I get the feeling that Sony is not out of the portable gaming market, but they are probably not going to do another dedicated handheld as such. They tried to make PSM a thing on their Xperia's(Which sold well enough) and it flopped worse than Vita, but I don't think they've given up on that space for gaming though.

This doesn't seem likely, given that the series has established thatOoooooo Personas as a curse. I like it. I like it a lot. An interesting, different approach from what we've seen before. Would be a good way to change things up.
It's Persona, even if it's a spinoff. It's the biggest asset in Atlus's catalogue. They'll bring it over.
I have a feeling that the slave here means more to stuff like social media-slave. That kind of thing.
This doesn't seem likely, given that the series has established that.a Persona is that individual's subjugated Shadow; their power is beholden to the user, not the other way around
I'll never forget. They didn't bring over Eternal Punishment PSP. :T
Even P3 established thatThat's a Persona 4 only thing... isn't it?

Even P3 established thatin The Answer. Then there's the whole plot point behind P4A (which is canonical) beingPersonas and Shadows are the same thing.the mastermind wanting to convert the P3 and P4 crews Personas back into Shadows and claim them for himself
The "continuity" in the Persona series doesn't mean crap. The rules of P3 are far different than P4 and P1 and P2 are even further removed, though. Heck, if P5 really is darker, I wouldn't be surprised if they split the universe again and have this game take place in a completely separate world and let the P3/P4 guys keep doing their own things in spinoff games.to be fair, the reasons for that are definitely explained

They've been pretty consistent going from P3 to P4 to P4A. But indeed, it doesn't rule out the possibility of potentially having another continuity aside from the two already established (P1 --> P2:IS and P1 --> P2:EP --> P3 --> P4 --> P4A).The "continuity" in the Persona series doesn't mean crap. Very happy it's on PS3. It's going to look awesome and I don't have to buy a new system.

I dig the idea of a darker Persona just to see how Atlus would handle the social links. I love that aspect of P3/4, but I'd like to see the relationships (romantic or not) having a more mature aspect to them. Also, I think it would be the perfect opportunity to introduce gay/lesbian relationships in the series.I don't know, maybe cause a darker Persona game that still manages to retain its unique social interactions will always have a bigger potential audience than Waifusona. I mean, I get why sticking to what worked well in the past 7 years makes sense from a financial standpoint, but the vibe I'm getting from that teaser feels like a substantial departure from P4.

Arena's storyline kinda poked at that theory though, and Strega.Consider, the mastermind in arena was trying to make powerful shadow's from the cast's persona's. Now, the dark hour and the midnight channel world were contained and had certain rules governing the persona's that may not be true in 5. Also, see Strega from 3 where their Persona's were trying to kill them if they didn't take meds. A continuation of any of these things could lead to a pretty dark plot in 5.
