Would I have to watch all the Starblazers to understand what's going on in this one?
No. It's a remake.

0083 is boring trite. At least 00 is entertaining trite.
Kids on the slope
What is steins gate? Can't seem to find it on Hulu/Netflix/Crunchyroll...
My anime run continues, now with Gundam. Watched the first UC 0079 Movie yesterday, and will now continue the journey with Movie 2, Movie 3 and so on. Based on feedback from various Gundam-heads 'round the net, I intend to watch the whole franchise(well most of it) in the following order:
UC Universe....
1.) Mobile Suit Gundam
2.) Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam
3.) Mobile Suit ZZ Gundam
4.) Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack
5.) Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket
6.) Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory
7.) Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team
8.) Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn
Side/Alternate universe:
1)Wing
2)Turn A
3)SEED
4)00
5)G Gundam(maybe?)
Would you guys agree with this viewing order?

For the original MSG these days the only real way to watch is through the 3 recap movies.I don't think there's any neccessity to watching in any kind of order. But, I wanted to just throw out there, I tried watching the original gundam series myself a ways back, and I found it didn't really hold up.
I'd try to give you more insight, as I have seen quite a few gundam series, and some of them were amazing, but I'm sad to say the names have sorta blended together in my head, and it's hard to keep straight, what with everything being called 'Gundam' something or other.
I would say, many of the best gundam shows were really short[episode wise], so I'd give preference to the shorter series, both because of this, and easier time commitments.
I just finished FullMetal Alchemist (2003) today and quite enjoyed it, but it felt unfinished.
Is it worth watching the Movie for closure?

Or is it worth just going straight onto Brotherhood?

Yes.
The movie is the ending to the original series. If you liked the events that happened at the end of the series and want more closure, watch that movie.
Are you serious? You actually liked it? It actually devalued the original ending for me. I seriously wish I never saw it.
How do I put it in words... it felt like fanfiction. Bad fanfiction.
The movie completely destroyed whatever love I had for the original series.I just finished FullMetal Alchemist (2003) today and quite enjoyed it, but it felt unfinished.

The tv ending was like that for me by devaluing the premise of the show and end goal. It was pretty much a non-ending, whereas the movie closed out that one major plot point that was more important than the rest.
I want to start watching Fullmetal Alchemist, as it seems to have won several awards and is very popular in Japan. However, I would like to have something clarified: what's the real difference between the two anime series ? Is the second one (Brotherhood) a sequel to the first one or is it set in a different universe ? I've heard the Brotherhood is a more faithful adaptation of the original manga, but that's about it. I want to know the relation between the two anime series. Is Brotherhood a sequel ? A remake ? Completely different ? Without spoiling anything, of course.
FMA was made before the manga ended so there's filler episodes and the story line diverges a good bit from that in the manga.
FMA;B is a retelling of the story while staying a lot more close to what happened in the manga. Think of it as a more accurate remake.
Alright, thanks ! I'll watch Brotherhood then.
Well guys, I am happy to report I have finally finished watching Turn A Gundam. This was the very first "Alternate Timeline" Gundams I watched. Overall I thought it was a very very good and enjoyable show. Wasn't perfect and it some pacing issues, but I'd rank it as probably my favorite in the franchise....so far.
Soooo....with that having been said, here are the last five shows on my to watch list:
Gundam Wing
G Gundam
Gundam Seed
Gundam 00
Gundam Unicorn
Now keep in mind...I am someone that usually as rule, likes to watch things in order from worst to best, leaving the best for last. So with that in mind, what order would you guys recommend out of those last five Gundams? I want the last one to leave me breathless
All the UC related Gundam series I have already seen.

If you've already watched all UC Gundam, then go for Unicorn. It's better than the other shows on that list by far.
Best: Worst:
Unicorn
G
00 or Wing
Don't watch Seed.
The original series is amazing. What doesn't hold up? Yeah, the animation is dated, but the artwork itself is still solid. The characters are fantastic and memorable, the story and conflict and ideas are all fantastic, and the music is god tier. Plus the mechanical designs are still awesome and not bogged down by the overcomplicated nonsense that the franchise has devolved into.
Gintama.

Leave Unicorn for last, as the ultimate treat. The final episode should be out by the time you're done with all the ones you've listed.
First season of 00 is really really good as well.
Legend of Galactic Heroes is the best scifi anime of all time.
