I bought Far Cry 3. Please tell me it just starts slow and gets better.

From what I remember yeah kinda. The game is one of those that go at your own pace. Some of the later missions though are a bit more shooty blasty with bang bang explosions.

Are we really doing this

The first 4-5 hours are good. The rest of the game is a giant pile of steaming shit. Overall, bad game. Sorry :(

Yeah, the first few hours of Far Cry 3 are good as it serves as a generous sampler for what the game has to offer... but not longer thereafter you realise that this is all there is and you'll be doing the same things over and over and over again, plus the story loses what lustre is has once (actual spoiler)
Vaas is killed off
. FC3 wore me out and the AssCreed games are my guilty pleasures! I still gunned for 100% completion, though, because that's just how I roll.

They are all very different, so that is hard to answer. Generally for each of the games you'll find somebody who will tell you that it is the "amazing one".

Personally I love monsters as a great tower defense game that shines in coop (but there are quirks to the style such as trial and error over long levels).

Eden is a zen like experience. Not my cup of tea, but I can see others loving it.

Shooter didn't really do it for me. It is very much a retro experience which played better on console, but you can find plenty of other oldschool games on steam.

Thanks todd, you are money saver. ;)

What have I done?!

Still looking for a spot in a Monaco Group buy

I only have CS:Source, I don't think I'll bother to buy GO, I just wanted to know if Source still has an active community and if it's a good game :P

Yes and yes. Even though 1.6 is top dog as far as I'm concerned, I had a ton of fun across my many years with Source.

Has this deal actually updated? 40% off when other sites had it 75% off previously?

Also still bitter that I can't participate in that Intel giveaway.

edit: Bah, the second I posted it updated to 75% off.

They always wait until someone questions the discount on GAF before updating it.
