We're supposed to get the credit on December 13th.

edit: top of the page! buy Ys: Memories of Celceta and Spelunky!

Good recommendations and it's at the true top of the page! Good show, old chap!

Not sure what to do with my $10 credit -- do we know how much Mutant Mudds Deluxe is?

They better do a retail release. People need to know it exists
Ugg, the lack of retail releases is really annoying.

The only people that will see digital games, are people with a PS Vita already. Or looking on PS3 at the "all new releases" section or whatever the stupid title of it is now because they can't just keep the same damn tabs, gotta change it for no reason all the time. Awesome.

I don't know why anyone looking to buy something looks at retail anyway, but they *DO* so you'd think Sony would insist (toss money at) companies to release at retail. Even if it's limited.

That way people see your system is actually... you know, getting games.

Every time I see someone talk about looking at Vita in a store, and seeing no games, I'm like... "._."
Even if every game on Vita was a retail releases... not all stores stock every game.

Ugg, general consumers. They frustrate me.

Oh and that Minecraft bundle should have LBP Vita. I think it fits well with the 'creation' theme, and it would get the LBP brand out there. Just focus more on Minecraft than LBP in the design of the box.

Well I seem to be late, but I figure I'll answer your questions even if you've figured them out by now. Hopefully someone will get something out of it hehe. Keep in mind what I know is from the PC version of Terraria though.
In terraria is there a limit to how many blocks of something you can carry? So far I'm just trying to find the cap of how much wood a slot can hold before it starts filling up a new space on the inventory...is there a limit?

Btw what's up with soul eaters chasing you constantly?

Limit for materials/ammo is 255 a stack, weapons/armour/tools/accessories 1 per slot
Monsters from corruption aren't affected by day/night

. And to get some ropes or something. I hope there are ropes. Need to find an advanced crafting guide or something, didn't see it in the list of available stuff to craft. Maybe the furnace stuff!
You find ropes from pots/ chests in dungeons or underground caves. They were added in 1.2 though, and I've heard vita doesn't incorporate all of 1.2? (Would be silly of them to not put ropes in though, saves so much unneeded deaths from not paying attention when using a hellevator lol)

Wow guys, don't be so cheap. It released for €25 which is a great price. I also think they are right not to discount the game so fast after release.

It's a game worth supporting and we should be happy that we at least got an EU release, especially at that price. I know the delay was annoying as hell and some of you may prefer a physical version but all we can do is to support these localizations if we want to keep them coming.

As far as I'm concerned this goes for ANY game you have an interest in that is released in your region. It's kind of sad, but we're extremely lucky that we now live in the digital age where a publisher can take a small risk with localization and release it digital only. If you boycott the game because it's too expensive or because it's digital only, you're only hurting the chances that the publisher will localize that series (or others) in the future. We really do vote with our wallets and with the limited install base that we have, we need to make those dollars count in terms of sales -- the only thing these publishers care about.

We're all about saving money and getting lower prices... but some things are worth supporting before they bomb and the price falls to ridiculously low levels.

i know it isn't hahaha. i'm just hoping for a case like LIMBO XD

I would've bought the 3.75 PS3 version if there was even a slight chance of it happening, but since EU blog said no and it's out there now without a "hey it's cross-buy" surprise, I'd say the chances of it happening in NA are 0. Especially since EU seems to have more consumer protection when it comes to digital rights/purchases (which is why I think Jak & Daxter ended up being cross-buy in EU but not in NA).

I heard 1.2 (at least part of it) is coming in a patch so we are still behind atm, thanks for all the info - but just one thing I'm nearing 1000 blocks of wood on a single stack at the moment :S

999 is the limit for wood, I like that.

oh wel.. I'm veryVERY happy that Super Crate Box is FREE on PSM this week. finally able to play this game with PROPER buttons! :D

hmm.. still waiting for my Ys Celceta Silver Edition to reach me... not sure what's taking Amazon so long.

bought Tearaway last week (?)
seems like there's nothing for me from this week's sales

Being unemployed kinda makes you not want to pay full price for games :c

Spelunky.

Yeah, I bet.

I'm employed and I don't want to pay full price -- especially since I buy a lot of digital copies and have become accustomed to the Steam model of sales.

However, games like Dragon's Crown and Ys I bought flat out because they were worth it to me and I wanted to support the publisher and tell them I want them to continue doing good things on Vita (physical or digital, makes no matter).

My point wasn't directed at anyone in general, just the notion that everything needs to be on sale; we're all cheap, we all want to get a deal on the games we buy. The point was that not buying a game you want because it hasn't had a good sale or because it's digital only is kind of "shooting yourself in the foot" if you want that company to continue to support this platform and release/publish more games in your territory. :)

Hey guys, my Vita has a pretty noticable scratch on the front glass, is there any way to get this fixed short of sending it to Sony for $125. x_x

I remember this topic from a couple of weeks ago and wondered how it went down. Yeah guys, there's not buying a game because theirs no physical version, and then there's not buying a game at all. Guess which message both of those send? I'm not saying you owe companies a favor but, obviously digital only is how they're going to get their money back. You want the companies to make money, so they can give us more stuff.

If Vita 2000 is coming to the US, Sony should center its release around Minecraft.

Bundle Minecraft and a 4GB card with that sucker for $179 and bam, you basically have the relaunch the Vita needs in the West. The tweens would love it - Minecraft is wildfire among that crowd.

Bundle a Vita TV with Minecraft, and a DS4 for $129.

I played some of the demo to Rainbow Moon today...

I haven't played a game like that since I was a teenager (I'm 34 now) and I always assumed that I wouldn't like this style of game anymore.

Well, I really got into it... Hopefully, this could open the door to a 'forgotten genre' for me?

Is there anything else I should be looking at along these lines?

I've held back on the purchase of P4G because I thought I wouldn't like it... Maybe I would?

Ahh. I guess limit was upped some updates ago. (Played a lot of Terraria when it first came out and only started playing again when 1.2 was released) Booted up Terriaria and you're right :P Building mats are 999/stack, ores/bars are 99/stack, potions are 30/stack (super annoying when you get 5 stacks of potions from dungeons)

I do like Terraria, but I really don't feel like paying $15 for double dipping on Vita when Steam has sales for it for $2.50. Also easier for me to play with friends on PC as most of them aren't in the PS family :(

My Ys LE only arrived 2 days ago (in Australia), I was thinking it may have gotten caught up in the Black Friday/ Pre-Christmas rush, considering tracking showed that it'd sat at the DHL carrier facility for a week or so.

So, Terraria seems interesting, but the general consensus in here seems like it is asking for way more price than it's worth?

What kind of multiplayer can I expect from it? Can Vita players play with those who play in other platforms...?

Yeah, SCB was a nice surprise bonus. So addictive, and I love having a little library of random PSM titles. Last night I went a bit wild and got that, Terraria and the Guacamelee DLC. MGS3 will have to wait because I can't hold all this indie goodness.

Btw listen to Corrosive and get Spelunky if you haven't already. Check the addiction thread floating around for some awesome tips and go deep.

Gaz_RB managed to fix his with toothpaste back on page 129 of the November thread...

I think we're just upset that in the time that it took them to get the Vita version out a mobile version was also announced and released for $10 less than the Vita version, the PS3 version was on sale last week for like $4, and then no cross-buy :c

I won't comment on the price, but I believe Vita and PS3 owners can play with one another. I never got around to multiplayer on the PC version, so am quite excited to try it out with other GAF Vitabros. Reckon we can expect something similar to Minecraft, just with less "D". One less, to be precise.

Picked up Spelunky and got my bonus check from work. I have sooooo many Vita games to play already but I'm for sure getting Tearaway and the Gravity Rush DLC.

Yes please bring this to the US, any of you importers, how is your 2k holding up?
I love my blue/white 2000. I don't own a 1000, so I cant do any real comparisons, but I love mine. The screen is really sharp, and honestly unless I'm in pitch darkness I never notice the backlighting on the screen. The shiny bits of the case don't attract fingerprints, which was a concern of mine. I've played 100 hours on mine (mostly Tearaway, Rayman, and Persona 4) and I am very satisfied.

PS Vita 2k + 4GB + Minecraft Voucher + 1 Month PS+ = 1 Million easy. Toss in Tearaway physically. If Minecraft doesn't sell the Vita? I don't know what will.

The problem is, minecraft is big on multiplayer, and getting a bunch of kids with multiple vitas is really difficult.

If they could make the vita version able to play multiplayer with the PS3/4 version, that would be great.

I picked up Ys 7 and Oath to Felgana during their sale on a whim. I was told the stories are are separate other than a few reoccurring characters. Which order should I play them in? I'm mostly looking to play the "better" game second but if there happens to be a link I would prefer the proper order.

I've played both and I don't think that one is better than the other. It is more about your preferences in it's mechanics.

Ys 7 is a more traditional RPG than Oath. While Oath is more of a hack and slash game and needs more skill in dealing with tougher enemies rather than just leveling up. Both are good games and you can't go wrong in picking which one to play first.

Some guys asked me the same thing in the November thread. Here is my answer :

I think this one could be done at home using some toothpaste, a polish or a baking soda.

Just ordered my vita and gave Ys as look - that looks freaking awesome - now if there's any sort of skill tree in that game i'm sold.

Even thinking about something as the Sphere Grid makes me rock hard.

Does VitaGAF think it's time to stop playing Bioshock?

I don't feel like waiting for them to reply so I'll ask you guys too. Just reply over there I guess :)

Finish it.
That Ryan plot twist
was really awesome IMO, and even if the game gets a little worse after that moment, it's still good. Furthermore, you'll find more diaries, who are one of the strengths in the game, you'll find more power-ups and other things that make the 1-2 hours you have left worthwhile.

I really don't get why people say "just don't finish the game" but... well, i'm used to GAF being kinda hyperbolic. Bioshock it's an amazing game and a worthwhile play from start to end, even if it's not perfect. And, personally, it's one of my favorite games.

I don't get why you should stop playing a game you are enjoying.

You made me remember how the localized Vita ports of FFX/X-2 HD still doesn't have a release date while the PS3 has one. ;__;

I'm currently finding it rather tedious with all this filler is why I'm asking. Is there really only 2 hours left? If that's the case I'll just solider on through I suppose but I somehow doubt I have that little time left.

BTW you should spoiler the part I spoiled in the quote lol

If I can make my Vita a Blitzball machine I'll be a happy man.

I'll ask again. There isn't a way to do Murphy levels with physical controls, right? I hate the AI in those levels.

And I've been playing Digimon World 3 a couple of hours more. I'm enjoying it a lot, even if it is quite grindy. I like how it's a mix between Pokemon and classic RPGs and it's amusing how bad I probably was as a kid. But, well... it was one of my first JRPGs. I usually play it at night, when I can play it for around 2h. The rest of my time is going to Rayman Legends and some Tearaway collecting.

You can do the Murfy levels with physical controls by... buying the PS3/Xbox 360/PC version. :P

Just moved my Alundra save over to my Vita - holy CRAP! It looks like a completely different game, 100% improvement from playing it on PS3.

Dangit, you got my hopes up there, I thought it was going to be a rumour about the Vita version being alive again.

Yes, it's like 2 maps or something like this if I remember correctly. And the last scenario, Proving Grounds, it's kinda good since it add something new I won't spoil you. You can always the list of areas in a walthrough for some confirmation.

Why?! I mean, it wasn't that hard to let me choose T.T Those levels are definitely killing the game for me. The game is so good and the music levels are amazing (I'd spent 35€ if they release a Rayman game with music levels only... I love them), and yet they had to spoil forcing some touch gimmicks.

Yes please bring this to the US, any of you importers, how is your 2k holding up?

I own the OLED (used to) and the new Vita 2000 for about a month. I only pasted a screen protector on the screen (none at the rear) and keep in in a pouch. It still looks super!

I don't really miss the OLED (perhaps it is because I cant compare them) but the Vita 2000 really has a good screen, it is sharp and colorful to me. My friends still go "Wow" at the eye popping graphics. As for me, sometimes I am still impressed by it. Stains such as oil wipe off easily as well. It will not disappoint unless you are truly obsessed by the OLED wonder.

The hardware is very very well done imo. The form factor, and the glossy part that I was worried would be a fingerprint magnet .. actually does not attract much prints. Needless to say, the "Select" and "Start" buttons are bigger now and the D-Pad is still as wonderful. The greatest improvements for me would be the Micro-USB port
+ Battery .. I can finally share my mobile phone/tablet charger/cable with my favorite portable. The Battery life simply astounds .. it lasts a damn long time before dying. I played Fifa 13 (half brightness) for an hour per night for 5 nights before the battery warning came out.

Sometimes before I go to sleep, I will turn it on, navigate for a few minutes and have a great sleep :D

Since the PS4 is supposed to be better integrated with the Vita I wonder if the PS4 version of Legends will feature cross controller support to replicate the Wii U gamepad stuff.
It most likely won't

I concur with my fellow Vitabros, the curry game looks interesting. I initially dismissed it but it seems I should go and take a second look.

Any one else had problems with Turel Tree area?

Almost lost my sense to it last night. Played that area about 2 hours and somehow managed to clear it for the cost of night sleeps...

My fingers dont bend to repeatedly push left stick + X + O + R1
when you need to jump from one pole to another and same time change living / dead world. Also same goes to crossing those red vines that make damage. So hard to get it right with L1 + X + moving left, even harder if I try right stick instead L1

I know that when I finish this game. Ill delete it from my memory card. Good game but those annoying things are awful. Next goal is to finish this game asap w/o trying to get extra stuff.
[/RANT]
Not sure how good this is to play with DS3 (or DS4 +PS3)? Only good thing is that this game was PS+ freebie.
