Being on PS3 doesn't really bug me at all.
Same here. I got my PS4 at launch but there are 12-13 PS3 games I intend to buy next year that unfortunately won't be on PS4, so what's one more to add to the list.

No, they're going to open the page with the first PV.
If this is a 2015, they really need to look look at it being a PS3/PS4 game instead of just PS3. I know they are looking at install bases, but I won't even be looking at PS3 games once I get a PS4.

When is that?
It'd be really scummy if they announced the DC version of the game for the west. Lol
It does bug me a little because the game seems to be fairly open world, with the battles taking place in the open world, so as such I have no idea how they're going to pull off 60 FPS battles in this one.
I'm assuming on Dec 21-22. That's when they'll have the trailer also showing at Jump Festa 2014.
What does DC stand for?

I hope localising a text-heavy ps3 game is viable in 2015 in terms of sales.
They said simultaneous release. It would be a really bad idea to backtrack on that.
Director's cut, most likely ie. Tales of Vesperia PS3.
Director's cut.
If they are going more open world. Do you think you will be able to see the other characters as you travel? Like they follow behind you. Like Xenoblade?

But if there is no scene break for battles, where would they come from? They'd have to be on screen with you. Well at least in fields and dungeonsI don't think you will. Never have in Tales of games that I remember.

If battle transitions are seemless they would probably have to do that. I didn't really see anything in the trailer that indicated the transitions would be seemless, but some people apparently did.
PS3..... *rolls eyes*
Wait, this was confirmed to be a worldwide release?

I fully expect to see PS3 rpgs still trickling out in the west in 2015, Persona 5 of course being the biggest. The same thing happened with PS2: Persona 3, FES, 4, Rogue Galaxy, Odin Sphere, GrimGrimoire, Soul Nomad, Wild Arms 5, Ar Tonelico, etc.
Remember, Persona 4 came out in the US at the end of 2008, two years after the PS3 was released.
Oh, people think battles won't take place in arena fields? I don't see them doing that.
Localization confirmed yes. Its not coming out near the Japan release though.
Where has this been stated?
Why not? Its a change of pace and can add something new to the series?
I don't know if the PS3 would handle it well. Depends on how high a priority FPS are to them in this title. Anything is possible though.
Wow, I know a dude who's name is Slay. He has pretty low self-esteem. This thread would kill him.

Its a logical and educated guess.
You can see the background world during that short battle sequence. Tales of battle areas are always sectioned off but it looks like the shrubs to the right side would make it an uneven area which indicates to me (in addition to that camera angle) that the battles will take place in the open world setting.
There's always a chance that we could be wrong but given what's been shown so far I don't think it's an unreasonable assumption to make. Battles without transitions have been done before (Chrono Trigger/ Final Fantasy XII to name a few) so it will be interesting to see how it works out.
Also it looks like the sidestep from Graces was back.
I'm assuming that Graces must have scored pretty high on that survey they mentioned concerning how they made the battle system.
