Most angry you have ever been playing a videogame?

Gears of war 2 online. I got sick and tired one day of the lag and cheaters that i snapped the disc in four pieces. My girlfriend found out about it and bought me a used copy then photshopped the cover.

I'm gonna say sometime in Ninja Gaiden Sigma, a Fire Dragon boss. I looked it up: Smaugan.

For some reason, it was one of those "die 19 times in-a-row and almost give up for the day, then beat him on the last try" kinda boss fights.

I've never broken a controller or system out of frustration though.

Arkham City, going for the Platinum, the last predator map, which required an amazing amount of patience (for me). Every time I came close the game froze and required a hard boot of my PS3. Infuriating. It took me several days to beat that map alone.

Street Fighter IV. I'm very bad at fighting games but tried so hard to just beat Arcade mode on Normal difficulty. Took me forever and there was much rage in the process.

in the NES game "Baseball" the outfielders were SUPER slow and could never get to a ball hit into the gap. When I was a kid I lost my shit over this.

Old school shmups like Gradius and R-Type. Nothing worse then being perfect for 85% of the level, upgrading to an unstoppable weapon arsenal, then having to beat the hardest part of the level with a pea-shooter because of some cheap random death. You might as well just die intentionally and try again from the start. I've never thrown a controller or punched a wall, but this kind of thing made me want to.

Playing International Superstar Soccer Deluxe (SNES) with my older brother, such a sore loser and such a bad winner (the rare instances of him winning made his celebrations all the more irking :lol), I was more gracious in both victory and defeat (heh).

Also playing SFII Turbo on the SNES, you know what, maybe it had to do with me and my brothers age and the fucking SNES; nowadays I don't get angry while playing videogames, maybe frustrated but not angry.

Ranked on Tekken Revolution.

Get matched up with someone 30 levels higher, watch them do random invincible carp and some weird pokes or whatever and win, because they only need to hit you three times and you can't predict that stuff.

Prototype's shitty controls, specifically the targeting if I remember correctly. Can't believe the USB port on my computer didn't break from me throwing the controller.

how does this make you feel

Such unforgiving cheapness it made me sick...my Sakura was brutalized daily...got better eventually but man it sucked to "learn" Street Fighter in that game...by SSF4 I was a natural tho so I guess it paid off...

Tekken Tag 2 online...it's just not healthy for me.

Yeah I could only stand to go as far as getting the online then I promptly hopped offline...i can function better on Tekken Revolution however that won't work online anymore at my place (weird I know but whatever...)

Recently? Spelunky.

Holy shit I just bought it on Vita... it was only 3,75 usd.

Back on topic, most rage for me was Sound Shapes death modes. It's awful, need some skill but totally luck based - pretty much impossible unless you get lucky with the spawns and play well when you get lucky, that's it. I stopped playing on Vita and moved to cross play on PS3, because I was afraid of throwing my Vita against a wall. At least a DS3 would be cheaper.

If I get even remotely mad nowadays, I turn the game off and do something else.

But back in the day, Street Fighter 2, M Bison. So fucking cheap. Made me put my fist through my bedroom wall.

Also, in Grandia for PS1, I had just finished a really hard dungeon and boss, and I hadn't saved in hours. I got out of the dungeon and was killed by some random enemies on my way to a save point. I grabbed my third party controller by the cord and smashed it into pieces off the floor. Never played the game again.

Secret command on the master system, Still never completed it to this day.....As for games as of late nothing really springs to mind, Maybe Dark Arisen when my pawns decide to have brain farts and do the opposite of what I want them to do.

I was also close to opening the Xbox 360 tray and snapping the Dark Soul's disc in pieces thanks to those goddamned tower gargoyles. I took a deep breath and just turned off the system. Later I returned to the game, beat those fuckers, and DS is now one of my favorite games of all time.

You guys are angry about Street Fighter IV, when I was having issues beating the 4 Kings or whaveter they were known as in the arcades back in the 90's with Street Fighter II.

Maddening.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate: Silver Rathalos

"Stop flying, asshole!"

"Get on the ground bitch!"

"Thank God, he landed-Wait, come back here! Oh come on, he's flying again?"

Playing Assassins' Creed 3, after running into the 10th game breaking bug in the first 3 hours of the game (PS3 version) I was so mad I threw my controller at the wall. Only I missed the wall, and found an open door, and then another open door, and then it hit my brother full force in the back of the head as he stood at the sink in the kitchen. We still laugh about it today.

AC3 is the only game to ever make me break a controller. A true 1/10 game, I regret ever touching it.

Recently, trying to get the Legendary Goalkeeper Skill Challenge on Fifa 14 PS4 had me screaming and cursing at the TV like a madman.

Funnily enough, I never get mad at multiplayer.

Filled tub with water and threw Dreamcast in it. Test Drive Lemans.

Lately though, Catherine has made me furious. Great game, I highly recommend the fury to those who haven't played it.

Btw, guys, any thing out there similiar to Catherine?

MHFU on a PSP Go. Not only is it impossible to hold it in a claw grip but I spent the entirety of 50 minutes hopelessly whacking away at a Green Plesioth, twice.

I felt like throwing the damn thing into a wall but through some luck I have some self-restraint.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Grandmaster Galaxy - The Perfect Run

I felt soooo good after completing it...

Playing "Total Recall" on the NES and fighting the "Hobo King" boss.

I loved it that movie tie-in games back then had characters and scenarios that were absolutely not in the movie.

Recently, replaying Dead Space 2, decided to give Hardcore mode a go.

The 2 chapter-spanning, enhanced/black necromorph-spamming, invincible enemy-dropping-in-to-say-hello-in-every-room ending sequence.

Fuck that shit. Got my magic finger, but pretty sure the blood pressure jumped for a bit, lol.

RE5- Hardest difficulty- Playing as Sheva- Jill fight

The idiocy of AI Chris is something to behold. I was screaming at my screen because I didn't want to have to replay the whole fucking level again to get to this part. Eventually I bit the bullet and restarted as Chris and finished the fight on the first damn try.

I used to smash controllers until around 10 years ago, then I think I grew up a bit. I still ragequit when games get real cheap or start outright cheating. I don't yell or stomp, I just hit the power button and walk away.

The most frustrated I've been in a while has been with Arkham City on PC. Something about the combat feels off compared to its predecessors. I can't get any type of flow going and I just get disgusted and quit out.

Freaking missions that involve following someone in AC4 .....and there is a lot in this game -_-

But seriously it has been a while since I really raged after a game.
I remember raging and breaking a stereo cassette player which was right next to me after getting my party wiped like 3-4 times in a row by Black Chocobo in FF Tactics on the PS1 on random battle map .

Oh and I still have my cracked cart of Super Mario World (damn you special world !)

Losing against my little brother in Tekken 2 & SSX and him being all smug about it got me into a few fights with him.
.

I agree. Pretty much any CoD game on veteran is a nightmare. Idiot squad mates don't do jack.

The final boss fight in Parasite Eve absolutely pissed me off. Even though you have a save point before the fight, there's a 6-7 minute long unskippable cutscene. I don't know about anyone else, but I had to retry this multipart fight about 10 times. I eventually managed to defeat him. Threw the controller a few times. Infuriating.

MHFU on a PSP Go. Not only is it impossible to hold it in a claw grip but I spent the entirety of 50 minutes hopelessly whacking away at a Green Plesioth, twice.

I felt like throwing the damn thing into a wall but through some luck I have some self-restraint.

Wish I had the same restraint. I destroyed 2 PSPs over this game.

UMVC. Getting caught in a ToD combo enrages me to the point I had to stop playing the game fearing I'd eventually have a stroke.

The time: the late 1980s, the place: my bed room, the game: The Bard's Tale for the pc. At the end of the game, there was this one square that if you stepped on it without all your party wearing temple robes, it unleashed a massive stack of temple guards. Thanks to my super slow pc at the time, each combat turn would take hours to resolve. As I saw my party's health get drain away by a 1000 paper cuts over a snowy sunday afternoon I got angrier and angrier. Despite having gods for characters, they fell one by one. I was within a hair of winning when my last character subcumed to the blows.
I ripped the floppy disk out of its drive and tore it into little pieces with my bare hands, cursing it.
