Didn't think Xillia ran that well, personally. Especially compared to previous games.
Also it looks like the sidestep from Graces was back.
I'm assuming that Graces must have scored pretty high on that survey they mentioned concerning how they made the battle system.
So much ps3 next year.
Day one.
Another main character that uses his fists? :/

Every time they reveal a new Tales game, they show just one character fighting, and people get worried that it'll be single-player combat. Every single time!
This seems like the best spot to ask: I want to jump into the Tales of series and am looking for the best place to start. Is it like, say, Final Fantasy where I could play the games in any order without worry, or should I go back as far as I can and start that way?
Never got into these games as I prefer turn-based, but I would like to support the console-JRPG cause.
I don't know how I feel about the character designs for this one. I'll reserve my judgment for whenever I get to play it, though. In any case, this is all I can think of when I see the title:
There's a hard to see sword in there somewhere.
I've got a PS3, so I'm set, thanks.Do you have an Xbox 360 or PS3? Or both? I recommend all games that were released on generation 7 consoles. If you have to choose one, Vesperia is my overall favorite.
Oh I see it. It looks like a mix of martial arts and swordplay. I like it.
The fact that this is a worldwide release is pretty groundbreaking in my opinion. I think it signals that we can expect this for all future Tales games going forward.
Like Asbel all over again~

Motoi Sakuraba confirmed!
I hope the tracks are longer and better. Xillia had short songs. I wonder if Sakuraba will be composing on his own again. Hoping for a lot of epic and beautiful songs. I wish Tales of games had the budget for live instruments.
Sigh
Tales names are getting dumber by the generation.
At least, this gives me some of those feeling that Symphonia gave which is awesome.
Its a logical and educated guess.
But the bolded was about Tales of Symphonia HD.Might be wrong though. In the PS Blog, Hideo is quoted as saying its the first time they've simultaneously announced the game for both Japan and the west. And it will also be the first time that a Tales game feature both an English and Japanese audio track.
The bolded is what makes me think there will be a simultaneous worldwide release.
What's the matter? Too zesty for you?
If this doesn't have JP audio I'm gonna flip my shit. The English voices made Xillia nearly unplayable.
Well I hope you guys get your JP audio, but they better not slack on the english dub. I'd like the english dub to be great.
I want more Sakuraba jazz, but the setting doesn't seem to lend to it.
Where did they say simultaneous?
simultaneously announced in Japan and throughout the world
I always go for JP voices if they're available, but I also want the dub to be great.Well I hope you guys get your JP audio, but they better not slack on the english dub. I'd like the english dub to be great.
Hopefully he doesn't have such an annoying/rageworthy personality.
Hmm. I think some of the other names they trademarked were better. I'm still really excited though, open world with seamless battles would be amazing!
Yes, Xillia had some huge framerate drops in some battles when there were a lot of effects going (and by "a lot of effects going" I can name some boss battles with 2+ bosses). It was really noticeable, it probably hit 15-20 fps (while battles are usually 60).
More Graces combat mechanics only means a better Tales of. Obviously Graces must have scored pretty high, it's the best 3D battle system in the franchise (I've played Abyss, Vesperia, Graces and Xillia, that my experience xD)
Yep, holding my PS4 purchase is going to be easy seeing how many awesome JRPGs are coming to the West next year and early 2015.
Would you consider this to be a good entry point for someone that's put off trying Tales games since forever? Strictly PS3-only, I mean.
