(I'd be really interested in a review of Knytt Underground, it's one of my most anticipated eShop games and I'd like to know how the Wii U version is--in the meantime here are some other platform reviews for anyone interested:

So, I don't have a Wii U ... I do have a 3DS, so I ordered some eShop cards from Best Buy -- but, get this, they sold me the $19.99 Super Luigi U download card instead.

So, why am I posting here? Well, it's the Wii U eShop thread and ...

Well, they gave me new eShop cards, but they couldn't cancel the Luigi code ... so, I have a free one for whoever wants it. You have to have New Super Mario Bros. U to use it, but if you'd like it, PM me.

Edit: Claimed!

Dreamfall Chapter
25 min walk-through
I didnt even know about this game until today
I says on wiki that Nintendo went to the devs and ask for this to be put on WiiU, it looks great

I wonder if Nintendo went to telltale and asked for The Walking Dead on WiiU, you would think they would want a game that was many goty and part of a popular series on the system

Edit: also this game needs to be added to the list

Good point. Why isn't it on Wii U? Sam & Max and Back to the Future were released on the Wii, so it doesn't seem like they have anything against Nintendo. The games even fit the platform stereotypes of people looking for slower paced titles.

Back to the Future was on the Wii too iirc. Makes the point even stronger.

I helped convinced the author of Blok Drop U to increase the number of levels to 30+. At 15, the game was way too short, but 30 is much better (plus he will make more levels post-launch for free)

He actually sent me a new build, looking forward to trying out the new levels.

for Christmas, I've downloaded:

Kung fu Rabbit (on sale): funny for quick session imho
Knytt underground: wow, creepy and misterious
NES Remix: it seems a proper Warioware game imho

looking for other games on sales during next weeks.
I've already a 5€ promo code and should get another onw soon.

If Rayman Legends will be discounted at a lower price than the already reduced one, I'll bite that with the two promo codes :)

Aostia mon frere, I'm looking forward to your Knytt Underground impressions. Still only one review out there so far. (I'm really enjoying Kung Fu Rabbit as well.)

(Rayman Legends is totally worth picking up, just not as great as Origins IMO.)

Wow, do you have ties to other devs? Give any who aren't on Wii U some nudges will you? ;)

As for TellTale, I want Wallace & Gromit to finally make the jump! :(

And wasn't Knytt Underground one of those DX11 games on Wii U? Or am I being confused with other games? Candle and Pure Chess are others right?

What's DX11? Knytt is an Underground Metroidvania-style game from what I understand.

DirectX 11, :) while Wii U doesn't support it directly or the equivalent OpenGL (MS owns DirectX), it seems that Wii U is built around the equivalent of DirectX 10.1 IIRC, but devs have said they can adapt certain DX11 features to Wii U, Candle is one, I think Pure Chess is another.

This is going by memory though and I'm not an expert of Japanese culture tech.

Gonna download Knytt Underground today. Need something to relax to tonight after setting up for our Christmas party tomorrow. I guess I'll have to put together something resembling impressions since no one else seems to be...

this is also for max: I've tried just few minutes of it. charming but not relaxing. it seems hard because it gives you very few hints on where you should go or what you should aim for. but I think it is part of his charme

been playing KNYTT underground for the last two days, and its really amazing...The money comes with chapter three....

THIS THIS THIS

fucking fantastic game, all-around outstanding. Traversing from screen to screen is just as satisfying as turning the pages of a beautiful and engrossing novel, but with a greater sense of agency and complete sensory stimulation

I've known of this game and a few more that have yet to be revealed. There are a lot of Wii U indie devs in the NWF/Unity program.

I do reviews, previews, articles for Nintendo Enthusiast website. So I asked if I could do a preview for it, and I was able to get a preview build. I'll be doing more of these previews in the future.

Being a indie dev with a dev kit comes in handy. :)

Maybe I need to watch more videos but I don't get the appeal of the game. Or perhaps I shouldn't watch but play it as something is lost while just watching? Is there a demo of it on another platforms?

It's kinda an adventure game, where you just in a sense explore. The main gameplay comes from the phsyic-based puzzle solving of reaching new areas, etc.

Yeah, the game is pretty excellent so far. I've been taking chapter 3 in strides so I don't rush through it, also cause it's large. lol

Thanks so much for the Knytt impressions, all! I really appreciate it, y'all are the best. BTW, how is the swearing etc. in this? I plan to play it with my wife and I want to prepare her if it's a bit vulgar...thanks!

There really isn't much. The only one I remember is when one of the fairies told another Fairy to go F themselves in all caps. lol. All of it is text, so no speech. For the most part, the game is silent (text wise)

Great! Thank you, I really appreciate the info.

I was able to pick up Nano Assault NEO & Super Castlevania IV yesterday, and I can't believe I missed out on two of the sweetest games to grace the system. Especially NAN, which can be best described as being "disgustingly beautiful".

This is the first time I have heard of Knytt and it loosk glorious. Picking this up tonight, for sure.

Looking forward to more impressions! I plan to pick this up as soon as I can get back up on the eShop.

BTW, apparently Ducktales is 50% off right now--not sure if that's NA or PAL only...can anyone confirm?

Horseticuffs, did I ever tell you about the time when

Thank you!

P.S. How's the yoga going??

Why, thank you! My first meme image :D

The yoga is helping me to breath, and has also increased the likelihood that I'll be shot by any of several models of "Nerf Rebelle"-brand nerf guns while breathing with my eyes closed.

Bought Rayman Legends on the eShop sale. :)

You're in for a treat (although I liked Origins quite a bit better). I am going to guess you've already played that though. Legends has plenty of good gaming in store for you. I wonder if a lot of people are still doing the challenges.

Best Buy has 20% off eShop cards plus $15 back when you spend $100, so I'll be doing some downloading. I've been waiting for DuckTales to go on sale, that's a definite, and probably CastleStorm too. I just wish Chronicles of Mystara would go at least 50% off - it was $3 on PC.

The appeal for me is to explore the levels and solve the puzzles to progress further. The dialogs are entertaining and there is choices to make often so you are encouraged to play through the third chapter once more.

Also the controls feel great and the speed you travel in adds to the excitement....
