New DRIVECLUB branding guidelines video shows spectacular visuals!

Yep. Racers shouldn't be sub-60, it's that simple. Really wish the world in general (be it the digital camera or console markets) would stop chasing resolution and instead focus on FPS.

I am playing Assetto Corsa alpha at 45fps and it is the greatest Racing game/sim I have ever played, giving me the most enjoyment from a car game I have ever had going through everything right back to Geoff Crammonds Grand Prix on Amiga.
60fps is not the be all and end all, you are very short sighted if you think so.

Facts aren't things you make up in your head.

The game looks pretty as hell but im thinking its going to be a glorified tech demo
nothing of what they have shown gives me any sense of what we will be getting

Forza you get to fuck around looking at pretty cars and customize them in a garage then race to earn more money to buy cars for different racing types and take it online..its geared more towards racing

GT you get to drive an absolute shit tonne of nissan skylines around real world tracks
and is geared more towards a driving experience

Where does this game sit...the carlist has not fully been announced and is currently sitting at 28 cars...not really much incentive to race to unlock that many...is there some hook outside of the pretty graphics that im missing????

No, I'm not being short sighted, I just have a particular preference. But if you want to play it like that, sure. If you get excited by sims you're in my opinion pretty fucked up to begin with so it's hard to gauge anything from that.

I wonder if players get to use these "goPro views" after a race to author their own replay videos. That would be awesome!

well since they integrated this views, i think it would be possible.
the view of the of the front of the mercedes looked so real. jesus.

it's the first time since gt3, that i am really hyped for racing game.
Give us a release date sony. NOW.

So I've finally watched that vid.

Holy shit.

Also, whoever takes the reigns on the OT has NO excuse for making it look perfect. The assets are practically there in front of us, and we have Rushy who I'm sure will lend a hand as well :)

So fucking excite. It's all those little touches and details that I loved about the PGR series which were lacking in pretty much everything else (bar Forza Horizon, for the most part). Particularly stoked about things like de-saturation.

Also, name-dropping Go-Pro. Do I smell a partnership?

Ok that was the last straw. Your opinions of other people are not welcome here. If you are so inclined to insult people, stick to PMs. I don't want you turning this place into a bar brawl. Can you kindly GTFO, or should I report you?

i actually like the E3 trailer version best so far...until the whole thing is released.

You and me both, my brother. Still my favourite trailer and that's entirely because of the music.

If you're looking for similarly-styled stuff, look up Eamon Urtone's Vimeo page. He did the videos for most of the PGR titles as well as Blur. I think you'll get a kick out of this one in particular :)

Oh my...
Can't wait for a entire ingame trailer.

Btw, name of the song?
I don't think it's released yet. I remember asking Rushy about it when DC was still lined up as a launch title for PS4 and he wasn't entirely sure when it was coming out. Would make for a great promo if they released it as a free EP or something, though!

Grow up and learn to drive a real car, little boy. Sims are awesome.

Hey bub, he called me shortsighted, I'm merely responding in a manner that I figured he'd prefer. When in Rome and whatnot.

Holy fucking shit. This is the best looking racer I have ever seen. That cockpit, the environment the car model, the lighting its all beautiful.

I'm struggling to think how Gran Turismo 7 will top this visually. But if they can reach parity with DRIVECLUB as a flagship title for the rumored PlayStation VR device I think this generation is going to be good for racing gamers.

I'm in awe of what is possible.

Right. He calls you short sighted for the argument you made and you insult everyone who gets excited about sims? Seems like a bit of an escalation, no? There are ways to have a debate without needing to stoop low. Try it :)

My brother is frothing at this. For me, I have never really gotten into drivers but the need for games on my PS4 has me way excited for this. It just looks incredible.

My only hope that soon is soon.

Said it before I´ll just say it again.

People who expect to be blown away by this game visually will be very, very disappointed once they play it.
I know there have been improvements since I played it at gamescom, but even back then the trailers looked great while the game did not.

I know that's not a promotional video, but they'd be idiotic to know it wouldn't get out there. Marketing team is killing it. Good job guys. Great video.

Huh? The game has come a long, long way since Gamescom. I don't know how you can conclude that the final game will be disappointing based on a 6+ months old build.

The short clips they released after the delay tells you are wrong.

We´ll see about that.

Aren't the de-saturation, film grain etc. just guidelines on how to handle their asset footage? Rather than anything to do with the graphical engine.

Those clips were straight up gameplay clips though and looked incredible, while the trailers have all looked like post-processed replay footage.

Not if you read the accompanying descriptions, then it's clear they are talking about them using the techniques in the game.

Saved for giggles in the future. Thanks! ;)

Pre-order canceled ;( thanks for your honesty, it's appreciated. Damn you Rushy, why didn't you tell us??

There have been several in-game clips that Evo have shared since Gamescom that look much better than previous gameplay shown, it's not just the trailers.

They're all over the game's official Facebook page, not quite sure how you missed them all when there were several threads for them. I'll try and find one.

Edit: Here's the thread with all the gameplay clips (there's stuff from a trailer as well, but the rest posted are in-game):

Now thats a fancy style guide. Thanks for sharing.

DriveClub looks great... but i would like to see some range in terms of locale... it looks like everything takes place in the mountains or in a washed out foggy city... where's the vibrant cities or beach side courses?

I'm just not convinced this is actual unaltered gameplay. Too much AA compared to what I've seen.
The built I've played also hat some sort of dynamic resolution thing going on, everything in the distance looked like a pixel mess.
It just didn't look very good or impressive at all.

The trailers are straight "bullshot" material - I think we can at least agree on that. I know I might be jumping to conclusions, but I think it's best to be skeptical towards the material they put out.
