because of the lag it'll produce
A game this old won't have that much lag, I reckon.

I play everything with triple buffered vsync anyways so cool beans. Screen tearing is the work of the devil.breaking news
wbacon (Capcom Developer) confirms that V-Sync is enabled by default

V-sync makes me throw up.
Hoep you can turn it off.
It says right there in the answer that you can turn it off by modifying the .ini.
I hope you're aware of the irony in your post. You have to change a single line of text. How's that for "being lazy".I don't want to have to set the ini every time I install the game.
Tell Capcom to stop being so lazy.
And yes I know I could just copy the ini in a cloud backup program but I don't want to do what the devs should've done.

Same as every German release of RE4 ever.
RU or ROW? Might be interested, since I'm not sure what kind of key I would be getting through Gamefly. Did Gamefly(.co.uk) ever send out country specific keys (DE) that we know of, or should I get a EU/UK/ROW key from them?
Cheers for the info angular.
I wonder what else is in the ini?
I fired up the 360 for the first time in months and it has to be the only game made in the last decade that doesn't have a view credits option in the menu. I'm not burning myself out on RE4 just to see who ported it.
I'm willing to bet this is a QLOC port though as RE6's config file, also named config.ini (yeah I know it's common) has a some stuff in there that you can't enable or disable in the front end.
Edit: RE6's config.ini contents:
Code:[GAME] MouseBaseSpeed=2.000000 [GRAPHICS] HDR=DEFAULT AntiAlias=NONE AltAntiAlias=NONE DeferredLightingLight=APPROXIMATE_SPECULAR ScreenQuality=HIGH SLI=OFF Stereo=OFF MotionBlurEnabled=ON ShadowsQuality=HIGH FrameRate=VARIABLE TextureDetail=HIGH TextureMipLimite=2 [DISPLAY] Resolution=1920x1080 Aspect=DEFAULT RefreshRate=60.00Hz FullScreen=ON VSYNC=ON [SOUNDS] SeVoiceNum=128 [CPU] JobThread=3 RenderingThread=ON
Why do they remove AA and Mercs?
RE5 (PC port by Capcom Japan) and RE:Revelations (PC port by Tose) also have a file named config.ini with similar settings. It's how MT Framework works, not something QLOC implemented.
I love me some RE4 but I've already bought this game 4 times. I think Capcom has received enough money from me.
Q: I heard rumors of the German version being censored. Is this true?
A: No. RE4 fans in Germany can enjoy RE4 in it's full, uncensored g(l)ory. However, Assignment Ada and Mercenaries unfortunately is not included in the German version. Separate Ways, Movie Viewer, and Ada's Report ARE included and unlockable.
Cheers for the info angular.

Why do they remove AA and Mercs?
I wish they would have just redone all the textures in real HD. They might be sharper then in previous versions, but they still stick out as too blurry/low detail
Why the disdain? Vsync on is the best news since the game announcement.
Wow. Those are more options than I imagined. Looks like you can actually get 120hz 120fps then. Wow.
Also, they are attempting to get the whole specular motionblur stuff right. Nice.

As far as new textures go, if the original artists had higher resolution versions of the textures lying around then yeah its cool that they are using them. If it required anyone to make new textures though I would rather they not touch them at all and just use the originals.
Judging from the screenshots, it's a mixture of higher resolutions of original textures and different-looking higher resolution textures. I'd also vastly prefer higher-res original textures, but as I've already played the game with original textures, I'm going to be playing it with the texture pack turned on. It's great that they don't force the new textures on you, though.

Oh they have an option to use 100% original textures too? That is fine then.
The Steam store page always tells you if a game is in any way censored. And in many cases these versions seem to only include a German language option (store page will then say something like "Low Violence: The German version is only available with German language")Question is: If you have Steam set to English, does it switch language to English but still keep the arbitary missing content from the German version?
To my knowledge, the reasoning on Mercenaries and Assignment Ada not being included in Resident Evil 4 (any version) in Germany is because there's no story to those two modes. It's backwards, I know, but you can't have violent mindless killing in a 'realistic' type game, which is determined by a case-by-case basis, and for whatever reason, Resident Evil 4 was deemed to not be able to include its Mercenaries and Assignment Ada content in any version as those two modes have no story to them, or reason on why you're killing things. Possibly because Resident Evil 4 is set in Europe, I dunno.
That makes sense for Mercs, but AA does have a story.
Separate Ways is Ada's Story, Assignment Ada is the mission where you go through a tougher version of the Island and collect virus samples. The only real 'story' in it is a 20 second cutscene of Ada receiving a message from Wesker to go collect the viral samples which plays at the beginning, and a 45 second cutscene at the end of Ada getting on a helicopter and receiving a "Good job" message from Wesker accompanied by an evil laugh. Its really just there to be a 'hard mode' version of the island location in Resident Evil 4.
Will this use Xinput for controller support? Would be nice if it supported DirectInput to make setting up a Dualshock 4 without a wrapper easy.

Q: What are the available controller options?
A: The game supports full mouse/keyboard control as well as XInput-based devices such as the Xbox 360 game pad. Inventory management is also done via keyboard or game pad.
Brett Elston from Capcom-Unity (listen to his podcasts VGMpire and Laser Time) posted 2500x1600 screenshots of the game and also a 60 fps download link of the launch trailer.

because of the lag it'll produce
Man, that looks like poop. I have a feeling the Wii version played on a SD CRT will be the optimal version in regards to viusals and atmosphere.Trailer looks like shit.
First of all, almost imperceptible lag is about a million times better than screen tearing, which is the worst possible visual error. Secondly, the game is designed to be locked at 30fps, which they've upped to 60 now. Either way, that will produce zero lag if it stays locked correctly.
