Reminds me of that Bungie event with all the people standing really awkwardly on stage.

"We don't know what to do with our hands"

Gambit's eyes are ALWAYS like that. They don't change. Also I do not consider headwear that literally hides none of your features a mask. He's not trying to hide his identity with that (it's publicly known in the comics). Neither is Jean Grey.

The only way masks and costumes work (specifically like people here are wanting where everyone gets something like the comic) is if they are literally going out with the express purpose of being superheroes. That's not something they ever did in the Singer-verse. They more or less kept to themselves, looked for more mutants to recruit, and fought enemy mutants when they had to. They're not out patrolling the rooftops looking for street crime. They're not out in the streets trying to be seen as flashy beacons of justice. In a reboot, they could, but them all of a sudden doing that in these movies would be a drastic shift. This is why even with some context (it's the future, things have gone to shit), the costumes for the future characters in DoFP look kind of cheesy even if they're mostly black. Maybe they'll explain it in the movie though.

You're correct about his eyes. For some reason I was thinking of the show(the teenager one) where his eyes were normal.

But the reason they aren't is because only X1 has really done anything involving saving the public. X-3 is horrible garbage that hopefully get's retconned. It's still very easy for them to say "we can't reveal who we are so we'll use costumes to hide our identity"

Why have a hidden mutant school if they didn't care about being known about?

They obviously don't care about being known about because they never wear masks in the movie and have no qualms about using their powers in public. I assume they disguise the school because all of the mutant hate and them not wanting hate riots outside their gates all the time. They did this in the comics too even when people knew who they were. I'm with you though, it's not that logical.

I supposed that's true.

Ugh I just want something in their costumes to standout. They were going to put Wolvie's mask in origins but changed their minds last minute.

its so stupid - they probably worry too much they wont get the facetime for recognition. You dont have to have the full mask on ALL THE TIME.

In that group shot, Bobby's wearing some oversized jacket like he broke into daddy's wardrobe.

edit:

oh god, i love my avatar. look at that goddamn face. like im bothering him or something.

Came here for the trailer. Leaving with some shitty publicity stills.

Those 5 second "trailers" for trailers are the worst trend in Hollywood since ever.

Blink is most anticipated character in the movie, she will definitely teleport with grace and smoothness much more than nightcrawler! :)

How does this say 'X-Men' to anyone? It doesn't even tell you anything about each of the people wearing them. They could change their clothes around with each other and it would still be the same thing.

If I didn't know which of those specific actors played which specific characters, I would have absolutely no idea who any of those characters are. It's absurd how these movies constantly reduce some of the most distinctive characters in comic books to indistinguishable blobs of outerwear.

LOL.

From recent interviews and press conferences, it's clear that Channing Tatum is a big X-Men fan. In particular, he loves Gambit, the charming Cajun card-thrower who starred in the comics, the '90s animated TV series and, unfortunately, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, where he was mangled by a throwaway role for Taylor Kitsch. Now, in our new X-Men: Days Of Future Past issue, we learned from X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner that a Tatum-led Gambit movie may be closer than you'd think.

"I'm dying to do a Gambit movie with Channing Tatum," Shuler Donner reveals. "That doesn't have to be a great big movie. It's a thief in New Orleans, it's a whole different story. He's on board, and I have to get the studio on board. How can anyone resist Channing? He's such a sweetheart."

That poster was agreeing with the argument that the superheroes don't need costumes.

Meh, they were talking about it not looking like a team, Platy was talking about each character being their own, and to me that pic posted is in keeping with that. Yeah, they are wearing costumes, but they are not wearing a uniform.

They're fucking killing me with that Egoraptor Quicksilver.

Is that Wanda also? Christ.

They are obviously destroying any credibility these characters might have so that we automatically groan and moan when we find out they are also in Avengers 2. I also think the Avengers versions will be adults as opposed to the children here.

Without totally revealing the answer, Singer surmised that Magneto could "reconstitute the adamantium claws… [Wolverine] has a different relationship with Magneto, and perhaps Magneto could forge them."

Another question many fans have been asking is why Rogue was given an Empire cover even though it was announced that she would no longer be in the film, or will she be?

"It was one real sequence in the movie," Kinberg said. "We felt like it was taking tension out of the main story drive."

"It does not mean that we won't see her in the film," Singer adds. "Also, I hope to make the sequence available on the DVD as she was quite wonderful in it. She is an important part of the X-Men family. I 'm very pleased she will remain as one of Empire's anniversary covers."

And finally, in the latest issue of the magazine, the pair teased the upcoming follow-up film X-Men: Apocalypse.

"One thing that interests me is the notion of ancient mutants," Singer says. "What would people thousands of years ago, without the benefit of science, think mutants were? And more importantly, what would mutants thousands of years ago think they were? Gods? Titans? Angels? Demons? And if such mutants did exist thousands of years ago, what became of them? Did one survive?"

"Age of Apocalypse was one of my favorite stores," Kinberg added. "We like the stakes of it, and it feels like a story that could impact a lot of our favorite characters in big, dramatic ways. We feel it's a very different story from Days of Future Past. For starters, it's a very different villain, and the characters will be in very different places emotionally."

Singer noted that the film, slated for release May 27, 2016, is "more of a First Class sequel" and "It'll take place some time after this movie. What happens in this movie brings about what'll happen in that movie."

The director also spoke about those rumors that a "Days if Future Past" post-credit scene would see Magneto possessed by an alien, leading to him becoming Apocalypse. As if that didn't sound silly enough, Singer says they're not true.

"That's not the case, and nor will that particular thing be in the film. People were concerned we were making Apocalypse an alien. It's odd. I don't know where that came from.”

EDIT - Deleting magazine scans, sorry!

Yay mutant jesus !

And ... so Rogue in reshoots ? =P

Also, can't stop thinking of "Now you are thinking with Portals" when I look at Blink xD

the quicksilver costume might be the worst design i've ever seen in a comicbook movie. holy fuck.

and damn, anna paquin (dat ass) and jlaw looking good.

magneto's costume look mostly good. a for effort. oldneto looks good too.

edit: they fucked toad too.

lol still no cyclops. they've retconned so much shit they might as well throw him back in there. fuck :-(

i don't want his shitty brother from the other movie.

You could easily have it make sense where they have their own costumes. Even soldiers customize their own armour.

Its hard to get how this feel is going to be, so many characters, are they going to have a line each.

If you really want to know...
likely end of the film surprise to prep for X-Men: Apocalypse, as James Marsden was apparently seen at a Canadian airport with Halle Berry during filming
.

I hope it's true.

You mean like X Men 3, which had too many characters and none got enough screen time besides Wolverine?

Guys, how am I supposed to tell these characters apart when they're not wearing their signifying costumes to delineate them from one another? This is The Godfather all over again. Everybody in similar colors and fashion. This trend needs to die.

Ed Norton Hulk looked like Hulk with his purple shorts. Now THAT is how you make a movie. Purple shorts that clearly tell me that my character is wearing purple shorts. Give this series to Marvel already so they can start making these films better - starting with scripts that actually understand the colors these characters are wearing.

Yes, because it's so hard to understand that fans of a team of costumed superheroes would like said costumed superheroes to wear their costumes on screen instead of generic black leather. Character design is important, who knew?
