PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4/PSP) | February 2014

Was looking in the last thread and saw that some people were having problems logging into the SEN store. I thought I should share my troubles with that process. I haven't been able to log into that web store for more than six months. I've tried off and on pretty regularly to get in. I've gone to friends houses to log in, I've used my phone, I've installed every web browser I can find, I spent hours on the phone with the support people who have no idea what the problem is, I've posted on the official fourms, I've changed all my security information, I've sacrificed to the gods above, and NOTHING works.

So yeah. I wouldn't expect a solution anytime soon unless they overhaul the entire website. It seems busted.

Have you contacted Sony over this? this sounds really bad?

I've been on the phone with their support twice, each call over an hour as I get transferred around, and no one on their end had any idea where to even start solving my problem.

So I still have $20 credit for Amazon's PSN digital store and I was thinking of getting something Vita related.

The two games I narrowed it down to are Killzone: Mercenary and Tearaway. What do you guys recommend?

Also, does Amazon usually add more games to choose from that also qualify for promotional credit?

Sorry for the quote, but what do you guys think.

NIS seems to only give bonuses if you order off their site.

Yeah, only time I remember them offering a retail bonus was for Disgaea D2. But IIRC everything else they've put out in 2013 had bonuses/limited editions exclusive to their store.

That's a shame. I would much rather just buy the game now and know it would be on my PSV on launch. Its a shame Sony doesn't force companies to make the games preorderable at least in the month leadup to the title.

Though I do only have one other PSV game as a retail release, Persona. Might as well get this retail? Keep in mind I am in Australia so the game is $45. Not sure if it will be cheaper or any better on PSN.

I've only played Tearaway and it was pretty good. So if it is something you are interested in, its the type of game you should pick up and check out. However I didn't play much of it as it didn't really capture my attention, it was nice but empty in some ways.

How much would it be if you went digital? It's probably going to go for the same price as most Vita titles (either $39.99 or $35.99 in NA, not sure what the prices are like in Australia). If it's a only a few dollars difference I'd say just choose whichever format you prefer.

I wouldn't hold my breath on a pre-order. Like Hubb said, most Vita titles don't. Plus it's NISA and they don't really offer bonuses.

They are too different to really choose on over the other. Both campaigns are equally short but Killzone also offers a good MP.

I would say Tearaway, only because a game like that deserves more sales.

Depends on the publisher. But Persona 4 is $55 on PSN. Which is why I got it at retail (cause it was $30) last year. That is published by NIS America like Danganronpa is. Ghost Light published Persona 2 and 3, and that is $74 on the store (in a bundle). Though the original Persona is published by Atlus and is only $15.

Dustforce has caught my interest.

DW:Next is alright for handheld but the damn touch and gyro gimmicks are annoying and it's not on par with the PC/Console versions strategic/ customization/mission wise.
ModNations Racer played only 2 matches and I deleted it. Terrible. Kind of weird choice given the best kart racer was given out on PS+ 2 months ago

Not sure about the Toukiden and Ys purchase yet. Not exactly too much interested in MH type games though but though the demo much better than my experience with SS by far. Visually stunning, like the combat and an actual map each time.
I like the lore/story and atmosphere in SS but hate the spell command combat and really don't get it at all. Plus the lack of level design and exploration kind of kills it.
Kind of feels like these type of games don't have any sort of scaling. Just one big flat arena.

Outlast!
The Wolf Among Us Ep. 2!
Remember Me!

I'll be busy gaming this month. As if I haven't got enough backlog as it is now.

Guys, what's the best way to contact support?

I just got offered a PS3. But I can't use my PS+ account on it since I have lent it to two friends already (and you can't activate more than four PS systems with an account). I went on the SEN account panel webpage to dissociate every PS system linked to my account. It's been almost 36 hours and the systems are still attached to my account. So I can't play PS+ games
and I want dem rules of nature
.

Anybody got the issue recently? Knows what's up? Or is it something for Sony support (hence initial question)?

Edit:nvm

Killatopak, I'll PM you the OT draft in the next few days, I'm almost done with it but am being distracted by work and other things =P

Anyone know what's up with the One Piece Pirate Warriors games on PSN? Both the first and second along with the first's DLC are discounted but they're under both discounts and price drops in the store. The second one is even shown with a save now picture under games on sale now.

I'll like to know if I can wait a bit to get them.

Edit:

Just reread this Weeks PS Blog Store Update. It is a permanent price drop. I don't remember seeing that in the original post. Oh well now I can wait.

OP Pirate warriors must be on sale, just get them before Tuesday and you should be fine.

I'm going to need some convincing on Daganrompa. I usually hate dialogue heavy games. If it's basically just a VN should I just pass?

Killatopak is slacking, I'd really thought he'd make it to the wall of shame on the few couple of january days the mods gave him :p

This is going to be a great month with Dustforce and Toukiden. I foresee lots of quality time with both on the Vita this month. Backlog be damned.

Okay. :D

Though you might have done a great job already.

But hey, I got in the top 20 in just 4 days!

Vita was put first to appease an understandably upset VitaGAF community.

If that was the reason, it's stupid.

Or this thread has a really bad title.

PlayStation Network thread?

Personally, if this thread had more talk about PS3 or PS4, I would have stopped coming. I joined GAF mainly because Vita threads was a nice place.

I feel the same. If this thread stops having mainly Vita discussion I'd stop coming here, and I'd spent a lot less time on GAF.

Got it. :D

I can't wait too! Even I want to release the OT already. :P

I feel the same. I might lurk more rather than post stuff.

It's up to us to keep VitaGAF alive. I think we did a pretty good job last month even if I didn't participate as much myself.

Looking forward to Daganrompa, but I don't think I have it in me to embark on another hunting game tbh. Not that it doesn't look good or anything, but these games usually demands a pretty heavy time investment to be enjoyed properly in my exp.

I'll stick to playing MHU until MH4 gets here in 2015 I guess :p

Bu-bu-but fuckable husbandos!

I'm in the same boat... was ready to buy the second game until I read that it was a permanent price drop. I wish they'd release a bundle with all the DLCs included at a lower price.

I think I'll go for Daganrompa. I'm already playing lots of MH3U so Toukiden can wait.
.I figure after I finish Daganrompa I'll be about ready to start up a NG+ in Persona 4.

Danganronpa and Ys will be mine
Am I the only one that's bother by the thread title's order of platform? Should be (PS4/Vita/PS3/PSP). It's by release date, and it just works well. PS4 is the primary platform in Playstation, so it should be first. Vita second for obvious reasons, but it works well in the middle of PS4 and PS3 since it connects with both. PSP last is perfect, since it only connects to PS3.

I just don't get why it's (Vita/PS3/PS4/PSP). Horrible format!
Get out!

Woop! February 14th is Danganronpa day for EU regions!
Hopefully I have enough cash left over for it by then.

A) I've never really played a JRPG before
B) I'm a dumb dumb

Therefore, should I set Persona 4 Golden to easy when I start it up or take a chance on normal?

P4G is already really, really easy on Normal. Play it on Easy if you don't want even a little bit of a challenge and just want to enjoy the story but I would recommend playing it on Normal to be honest.

If you want to spend half your life grinding then sure. I ended up after starting the second dungeon going "you know what, fuck this" and restarted the game on casual. ridiculously hard and annoying at were it puts its return spots etc. Love casual how I'm like a god and pretty much "oh you died, HERES SOME HEALTH" cause looking at the damage some attacks can take, unless your a master at the strategy one little fuck up can kill you, and it can happen quite a lot in one fight.

I usually don't like text heavy games. But enjoyed Virtue's Last Reward (though I didn't finish it). It's story and multiple endings were interesting enough to make me not regret my purchase.

Daganrompa on the other hand, I don't know. It's seems to be a bit over the top. I'm going to need a better explanation of the time and rhythm based situations I saw in the trailer. I'm 50/50 on a possible purchase right now.

I'm starting to cool on it as well. I own a few of these types of games (MH:F, Gods Eater, Ragnarok Odyssey, SS). Out of those SS is the only one I've seen through. I may give Toukiden a try down the line. I think for now. I'll actually play the MH type that I already own.

So I bought the new Curve indie bundle, which is great value. Then when looking at their twitter they said that they're announcing four new PS4 games in February.

https://twitter.com/curvestudios/status/428302858229133312

And going from this we'll be getting a PS4 port of one or more of:

Thomas Was Alone
Lone Survivor
Proteus
Stealth Inc

Anything crossbuy is great, so looking forward to seeing what they port.

It's a fairly easy game on normal, but nothing wrong with playing it on easy. The game would still be absolutely amazing

Not really. The difficulty in the earlier parts of the game is attributed to the lack of a complete party. Once you have 4 full members that's when the game becomes quite a bit easy.

Also once you have the -ga skills, it becomes ridiculously easy. Once
Rise
joins you, it's child's play.

If you have to grind in P4G you're doing it wrong.

If you have to spend half your life grinding then you're doing something really wrong.

The earlier stages of the game have a learning curve indeed if it's your first Persona game but there are several additions to the Golden version of P4 that make it significantly easier than the already pretty easy P4.

I think it's an extremely accessible entry point into Persona games and even JRPGs in general because of its forgiving difficulty.

If you had issues with that then I dunno how you'd cope with any of the earlier Persona games let alone Shin Megami Tensei main line games. Seems like you want a game where it's impossible to lose, and that's all well and good but I'm still going to recommend people to play it Normal at the very least.

You should have got Toukiden instead of Ragnarok tbh.

Lol no - I had to put it on hard to even get some challenge and even that after 4 boses i was steamrolling everything on first try.

Until 10 minutes ago i thought Ys:MoC comes out on the 7th, because both the stores i go to had that as the release date. Just saw it actually comes out on the 21st and now im super disappointed...

At least i can trim down on my backlog.
