Also I'll clarify: I'm not saying #BringBackE3 because there weren't ANY good announcements. There were quite a few: more Requiem footage, Out of Words, Control 2, Ace Combat 8 etc.
The problem is the presentation. Too stilted, too scripted, too theatric, too emulative of The Oscars, and just way too many CG trailers and adverts. Geoff really needs to cut it down to one show year; he can't juggle two let alone three. And some actual competition in the space, i.e what stuff like E3 used to present (both WRT other shows and also instilling a competitive spirit among platform holders to actually put in some effort when showing up) would be appreciated.
At this point, and I mean it this time, I'm just skipping these gaming shows altogether going forward. They offer nothing catching up on trailers afterwards in my own time can't provide. These don't feel like real events anymore, the sense of community, competition, and the presentations being a bit more down-to-earth is gone.
