They are taking people they think are weak and are making them servents. There that is whats going on, keep up people, Chris basically told you everything you needed to know

Ugh im liking the episode but i fucking hate "i got something to tell to you but cant tell you but ill hint it even though you will find out eventually" dialogue..

What is she talking about... The dialogue in this episode is just the worst.

You really don't get the context clues? The female cop that brought the food to Beth is the "leader" but only just barely. In order to keep her position she turns a blind eye to the abuse that some of the others are committing.

Joan, the woman who had her arm cut off, seems to be referencing being abused. Probably alluding to rape. If I were to guess, it's by the male cop who called her a whore. The same one who creepily suggested to Beth that she show gratefulness to them for saving her.

That's what I'm getting from this. Getting the impression the women are being raped as well.

As long as Beth (or anybody eats) is it ever possible to completely repay your debts? Sounds like a way to permanently keep people from leaving.

Yup. The higher up in the power structure are making claims on the people they "rescue." Chris seems to be indentured to Dawn (the leader) and Gorman apparently goes after the women. This is definitely a gross episode.

Indentured servitude is an age-old practice.

This is basically the army base from 28 days later, but with deadbeat cops.

Where are the giraffes?!

Edit:

This makes sense.
