On the other hand, the show's need to please idiot gorehound fans gets absolutely cringe-worthy at times. Noah's death was ridiculous. I couldn't even take it seriously. The whole thing was ruined because they pressed him up against the glass like "HEY LOOK AT THIS HE'S GONNA DIE WOAH!" and all I could hear in my head was the sound of Fangoria's subscriber base beating their dicks raw over it.

So the whole time Noah was getting eaten, all you could think about was people beating their dicks?

I finally caught the recent episode. I've got mixed feelings on it. On one hand, I like developments like Abraham taking over the construction crew. That whole thing played out pretty much exactly like the comic. Those are the kind of small developments that add up and make a great show. Its a big deal for that community to trust Rick's group enough to hand over authority like that and I think it feels authentic. Smart people who would be alive 1-2 years into this thing WOULD know their limits and admit it when the better person for the job came along.

Its just stuuuuuupid. Same goes for the guy who got disemboweled in the warehouse. Even the way the camera was aimed down at him was annoying. I get it, there are a lot of jerkoffs who really dig gore because they've never seen any real shit in their lives. FINE. I just think its amateur hour stuff that keeps the show from ever reaching its full potential. They just linger on that shit too long and too often.

I wish the show could just make that last jump from A/B-Tier to S-Tier. Its always on the line, ready to cross, but then dumb stuff keeps holding it back.
This post goes to show you just cant please everyone.

When there is talking and building up stuff "WHERES ZOMBIES"
When there are actually zombies and eating people "THIS SHOW IS FOR FREAKS"

Its like you people want zombie post-apocalyptic Breaking Bad but with muppets and pinata blood.

yup yup. Both monstrous douchebags, too.

I hope Carol isn't mistaken about her suspicions. They could cause a whole lot of trouble over an issue we haven't seen any solid proof on yet.

I think they will get sick if they do that a lot.
in Morgan's Safehouse he wrote that he got sick after Blood cover, which I assume is the same as what Rick and Glenn did in Ep2.
You can see it here:

I just got to this episode in the rewatch I've been doing and it just made me want to see the Morgan storyline continued all the more. Mostly because of how good the actor is in the role. That speech he gives about Duane and his wife just hits so hard.

Ignoring that a prison yard isn't a building so different tactics apply, how many times did they get into 'close calls'* where they let the zombies get too close and had to be saved by someone else in claiming the prison? Standing in a circle with machetes is a retarded way to go about it. As long as there isn't an overwhelming number of zombies, just drive into the yard with people on top of a tall van and some sharp broom handles and take them out from above in zero danger. When finished, load the bodies into the van and take them away, one free prison.

Basically, I'm confident that, with a friend, I could do better in a zombie apocalypse armed with wooden brooms than Rick's group have done with any number of guns, grenades etc..

* I get that it's 'dramatic' and that's the real reason why they do it constantly, but it grates after a while is all I'm saying.

You could also do better at defending the prison than Rick's group with a shovel.

By building a wall around the prison that wasn't fucking chain-link. I can't believe they were making that place a permanent residence, had a little farm going on on it, and never once thought to build a fucking brick wall using mud bricks. Or rocks. Or junk. Even AFTER seeing the walls at Woodbury they never had that idea.

watching the first episode of season two... ehh... this is where it really starts to drag. That hunt for sophia was painfully slow

Now that's fucking hilarious. I've watched that death scene a few times now, still great. VFX has come a long way and that is definitely one of the better face splitting scenes done on camera in awhile although day of the dead still wins with Rickles death. I think that one tops it purely for the sounds effects. That stuck with me for awhile as a kid. Phenomenal work (also done by a young Greg Nicotero)

With the way things are going I can see this season ending with a cliff hanger like season 4 did.

I still feel some big things will happen in the season finale with a death or 2 of the group.

Just think they will want season 6 to start off with a kick ass opening.

This episode was great, I hope they get that guy. Nicholas? Sucks that Noah died, but it's a little strange that Glenn was so close lol.

Does anyone honestly believe they have the balls to kill Daryl off?

I didn't until he accepted the bike and Aaron's kindness. Then a little bit of doubt started to creep in that he might not be one of the few untouchables in the cast. If they caved to pure shock value, he'd be a prime candidate. I still expect him to make it through the season though.

The kind of video i like to watch... except for the guy hosting it, the jokes and the fact that it only shows a few seconds of each clip, and just one or two per actor

I don't have a particularly high opinion of the segment, personally. You can't do a "before they were famous" section and then include some of these guys in there that have resumes as long as your arm. Guys like Michael Rooker and Norman Reedus in particular have been famous for decades. Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, In Cold Blood and Boondock Saints are all films with fairly significant cult followings.

It's not as bad as doing a "before they were famous" on Frank Darabont but it's pretty bad.

Honestly surprised some people were crying over that.

Noah wasn't even a developed character and had not really done anything significant in the show.

Shock, sure. A bit of disgust at how it went down, of course.

But crying or going "oh no oh no oh no!" or whatever is a bit surprising to me.
Agreed. Noah was his own plague. First Beth, then Tyrese. Dude needed to be stopped.

Michael Cudlitz hyping up the finale
“It’s going to piss you off,” the actor tells Yahoo TV. “There will be tears, but also, once again, like the writers have been doing pretty consistently, it tees up a new beginning in a very, very different way.”

Finally watched last episode. It definitely started slow but really picked up pace. I didn't see Noah's death coming, as like many figured it would easily be Eugene. Also thought Aiden would make it and his lackey friend would get off'd but it ended up reversed. Both of their deaths were some of the most gruesome on the show for sure.

Retroactively though this makes Beth's death even more utterly pointless as she died for absolutely nothing now. She "killed" herself to save Noah from Dawn and now all she ended up accomplishing was getting rid of Dawn, which probably only benefited the people in the Hospital whom she didn't care about. Now that Noah is dead it was a totally meaningless sacrifice and her death was just as empty as Tyreese.

They finally gave us reasons to really hate the drunk husband. Talk about a giant dick. Looking forward to see what kind of fate will catch up to him. It's clear even the son knows his dad is a grade a asshole and Carol states he's likely the victim of his abuse too.

Next week's episode looks insane and I cannot wait to see the fallout! :O

I wonder what is GAF's ratio on which parent is the abuser. They've been telegraphing it's the dad, but the mom would be a twist. AMC loves twists, but TWD isn't known for its subtlety.

I tend to think most folks playing devil's advocate for Jessie being the abuser (and Pete just being a drunk trying to drown himself into being oblivious to it) are banking more on wishful thinking that the show may actually subvert expectation for once instead of going the seemingly obvious route.

Either way I doubt we'll have any clarity on the subject any time soon as the confrontation will clearly happen with Pete at the forefront. Jessie clearly won't fess up to it even if she is the perpetrator and Sam won't point the accusing finger at his mom for any crime apart from cookie deprivation.

Great episode, but when they constantly miss the opportunity to remove danger it gets frustrating as hell.

A bunch of walkers pressed against a chainlink fence? You have pointy objects to hand that could easily fit through said chainlink fence? Kill the walkers with no danger to yourself before the fence breaks or some idiot leaves a door open!

To be fair, they weren't expecting it to take long, it was suppose to be a fast sweep. Killing every single Walker in there would take time (plus the show could just make the walkers in there be endless anyways). Also, who would expect a grenade would go off, causing an explosion to knock everything down (which is very unrealistic).

Can't stand that guy somehow.

But it's time the show introduced a new woman character and possible love interest for Rick. Although I'd rather see Rick and Michonne become a thing.

And lol at Carol saying "You have to kill the husband" to Rick as if that was the only way to go about it, and Rick looking like he's really considering it. Talk about black and white.

So its like evert othet The Walking Dead episode

(I hate this kind of interviews from actors and stuff hyping the next episode. They usually say anything to sound interesting, but it ends up meaning nothing)

It'a already been revealed who's going to be on the Talking Dead for the finale...so he might not be overhyping

Was more thinking he'd show up with some other hospital people in rags or something :p
It's too late to bring relevance to Beth's arc from earlier this season. I liked that character too but none of those guys are going to show up again.
Beth's dead, Noah's dead, Dawn's dead, Officer Bob's dead, Officer DVD's dead, all of the other characters are so gone from this series they might as well be dead.

To those saying Beth's death was meaningless. Yes, it was, but like real life, death is meaningless all the time. We want it to mean something but more often than not it is just a matter of wrong place wrong time.

There have been meaningful and meaningless deaths on the show. I imagine in a real life zombie apocalypse scenario meaningless death would be everywhere.

That said I'm still not happy about her death.
