To those saying Beth's death was meaningless. Yes, it was, but like real life, death is meaningless all the time. We want it to mean something but more often than not it is just a matter of wrong place wrong time.

There have been meaningful and meaningless deaths on the show. I imagine in a real life zombie apocalypse scenario meaningless death would be everywhere.

That said I'm still not happy about her death.
what was the purpose of the hospital arc then

literally no one who experienced that ordeal survived or continued to participate in the show - sans carol of course

but she wasn't conscious so she doesn't count

What do we think Carl's girlfriend is getting up to when she sneaks off into the woods? Will we find out this season or will they leave us hanging until next season?

Someone previously suggested that she's part of another group who is scoping out Alexandria. Makes sense to me.

I definitely think she's helping either those who were kicked out of Alexandria earlier by Deanna or another group that's looking to take over since she seems to want to remain distant to the rest of the kids compared to Carl yet I can see her being manipulative as well.

The penultimate episode of the season airs tonight!

Try

Rick and the group face setbacks as existence within the walls starts to mimic life outside.

The episode was directed by Michael E. Satrazemis (who last directed 5.04 "Slabtown", the first Beth-in-the-hospital episode) and was written by ??

The guest stars on tonight's Talking Dead are:

Chandler Riggs (Carl)
Gale Anne Hurd (exec producer)
Yvette Nicole Brown (Shirley from Community!)

I guess it gave the group another reason to go to Washington D.C. after Eugene confessed.
they were all desperate, and Noah was talking about some kind of safe community in Virginia. I guess that was the purpose of Noah this whole time.

Zombie boyfriend in the woods. It's not a Walking Dead Stays In A Place For Awhile arc without SOME CRAZY nut having pet zombie friends.

TDSF by now are getting way TOO much information. By now they probably already have a full summary of Season 6 and 7

I was like 5 episodes behind and just caught up using Xfinity On Demand.

It feels like the last episode is missing 10 minutes or something?

Did we hear Gabriel scream outside just as he was leaving the mayor-lady's office? Why is he trying to throw everyone under the bus?

Why does Carol think that Pete needs to die? Just because he's most likely a violent drunk? The show has done a pretty silly/cliche job of letting us know that he's probably a drunk that beats on his wife and/or kid. Though at first there's this weird scene where he intentionally leaves his wife alone with Rick at the party and I got the sense they were some kind of weird swingers.

Also, at what point did Carol turn from "badass" to "weird sociopath"? They haven't really spent much time on her this season. It also very much feels like they've intentionally turned Daryl into a sub-human caveman or something. Remember back when he had dialogue instead of occasional grunts?

I hear this a lot about The Walking Dead... I don't really buy it. Fact is, this isn't real life. It's a tv show. "Life is often meaningless" doesn't mean to me that you should tell a story that is meaningless and usually extremely unsatisfactory from a narrative/dramatic standpoint.

I think people use the "shit happens in a zombie apocalypse" "this is an unconventional story" etc. talk to cover up what is in reality just crummy, lazy writing.

That could also just be on me though. Obviously opinions differ. I personally fall into the camp of people who watch this show because I like horror and zombie action, even though I think it's not that good overall.

I think there have been quite a few meaningless deaths in twd. I think we'd all go crazy Trying to find meaning in them all. Like I said I wish there had
been some deeper meaning, but unless they somehow elaborate, it looks like there won't be.

this happened when she killed two sick people and burned their corpses only to be excommunicated by rickson

Well I won't be watching the episode until later since my Badgers are play soon and it will run through the episode. That's more important to watch at this time. I'll post later when I get around to watching the episode.

2 episodes left! We bouta see some fuckery, I can feel it!

Almost...I guess this one will be setting up the finale. Should be interesting to see how much they escalate the conflict. I mean I'm already semi-sure I know what will go down based on a mix of comic/show speculation:
Rick will obviously be pissed about Noah's death and flip his shit on the town and possibly begin his takeover. Something will come up that stops him. Daryl will spot the other scavengers or wolf people or whatever. Tensions will be at the absolute max in alexandria. Episode ends. Then finale will be the wolf people or whatever invading and Rick to the rescue and then the ricktatorship begins again and everyone deals with it.

More or less at least :p

In that Mad Men ad, "It's over when I say it's over." is that a cheeky Breaking Bad reference or is that gonna be in every final season on AMC?
