Maybe I'm just young and dumb but if somebody calls me a nigger I'm most likely going to swing unless there's kids around.

Fair enough. In High School, it's a different world. But if you are an adult, these kind of reactions often have dire consequences. Besides that, to me, the last thing I want to do when somebody says something offensive about me is prove them right.

However, I will give you this one bit of wisdom: Nobody is going to call you a nigger outside of their comfort zone. They are going to do it someplace where they feel safe saying it, and where you likely won't be able to hit him in the nose and walk away forever. A criminal conviction would likely keep you out of a good job for the rest of your life; it's just not worth it. Just something to consider, before you already condition yourself to respond with a violent reflex.

"prey on white people"?

lmao get outta here with that shit. It's so embarrassing when you see these white men talk like they're oppressed.

Anthony on racist tirade on twitter. How is this different than any other day. He also so plays lots of call of duty on Xbox and loves guns. Sometimes I feel like he is constantly playing a stereotype for some reality show.

I think it's generally accepted that if germany hadn't been so fucked after WWI the nazis never would have come to power.

He's never had a rational thing to say about black people, though.

I'm not saying that Nazism didn't arise from Germany's poor treatment (and that's not to excuse Nazism either), I'm more just talking about how Anthony refuses to even consider some of the modern day actions of some black people has direct relation to how they as a people they have been treated in the past, even though he can acknowledge how actions affect others.

So let me get this straight..........

A NATIVE New Yorker (since birth in 1961) wanted to go to Times Square to get pictures (which any New Yorker, even a new transplant, knows is cray cray)......... Somehow ends up with a picture, UNDER SCAFFOLDING, where the center piece of the picture is a woman in a short dress (he has a history of this type of gentlemanly photography), and another picture only showing the woman from the bust up........... The "savage" then gets angry and attacks him in the most packed area of the most densely populated city in the country (in Times Square where there is a police station and CONSTANT police presence, especially during the week before a huge holiday) and nobody but 5 black guys see the situation and approach............ he is then the bigger person for not using his fire arm, again in the most packed area of the most densely populated city in america, where the law states is the ONLY place in the state where a pistol license is RESTRICTED from carrying............. No police report filed, no charges, no video evidence, no witnesses........ only the "honest" testimony of a known racial provocateaur who has been on several occasions criticized and even fired for offensive and destructive material like convincing a mayor's daughter that her father was killed as an april fool's joke............ ratings stunt? possibly............ true story? possibly........... Made up bullcrap? possibly.............. If the story is true does that justify his reaction? you be the judge............ Is Buzzfeed pushing a racial agenda? lol I'll again say possibly for arguments sake............ Reckless comments or justified points? possibly........... But let's look at the best part of all of this............. Sure is a hell of a way to say Happy Independence day in "post racial" America, right my fellow Americans?!

You do post some ridiculous shit sometimes.

If he were to hit a racist for calling him a nigger, that wouldn't prove the racist was right. He would not become the thing the racist thinks he is if he punched him.

Who knows if this is even true though. Didn't he once say he was attacked by a group of Black people because he had McCain or Romney sticker on his car?

While I agree completely with that buzzfeed comment…he needs to learn that there are only 3 dots in ellipses. Better yet someone tell him the alt code is alt+0133.

Right, but doesn't mean giving Nazis a free pass for being Nazis.

This is actually.................. the worst comment................................... that i've.......................................... seen.

1. Anthony is not a native new yorker, he was born and raised on long island
2. What is crazy about taking pictures in times sq? It's played out sure but you can get nice photos there.
3. What does scaffolding have to do with anything?
4. The picture from the "bust up" is as she's confronting him, so what?
5. It was after midnight. I drove through times sq after midnight once and it was completely empty. Very plausible that there were no witnesses.
6. He didn't "convince the daughter's mayor her dad was dead", they said it on the radio as an april fools joke.
7. No way this is a ratings stunt as satellite doesn't really have a way to track ratings, nor does O&A care about their ratings. Also nobody is supporting his reaction so how would that translate to new listeners?

Pretty uninformed comment overall that adds nothing to the discussion. Like most things from buzzfeed

1. Your arguing over semantics. I'm sure the guy considers himself a New Yorker.
2. And what pictures did he take there that he couldn't have taken thousands of others times.
3. The point is that he's only there to take pictures of attractive women (basically being creepy). Why would he be taking a picture of a damn scaffolding? Answer: he's not. He's trying to take pictures of attractive women.
4. It shows he's being creepy and trying to take pictures of women. Its especially creepy when they don't want their picture being taken as it is in this case.
5. Maybe. But it is times square. I haven't been to New York but don't they have a bunch of camera and police officers constantly walking around times square? And then no one saw one white guy arguing with a bunch of black people? Highly doubt it but I guess its possible.
6. Fair enough. Still a shitty thing to do.
7. Good Point.

I have no idea what the comment has to do with content on buzzfeed. That's like being mad at the gamespot b/c their forums are nothing but people trolling each other.

1. I don't think it's semantics. The long island mentality and way of life is very different from NYC. He's told stories from his childhood where "the city" was a big scary thing that he maybe went to once a year. Long island is over 100 miles long, it's not accurate to lump it in with NYC.
2. He has only recently gotten into photography, like within the last month. He wasn't taking pictures that no one has ever seen before, but he was doing something new to him while playing with his new toy. he probably bought a lens that's good for night shooting and wanted to try it out.
3. He doesn't find black women attractive at all. He's extremely racist. I don't think that's the reason he took her picture.
4. There are better places to scope out hot chicks than a deserted times square in the middle of the night.
5. Times sq can be used to describe a fairly large area. He may have been on a side street walking to the apartment he has nearby. If a police report was filed, I'm sure surveillance video would surface. This incident probably lasted 20 seconds total, so it doesn't surprise me that no one really saw or cared.

The buzzfeed comment was just a shot at that site because i hate it

The bottom line is that he has no incentive to make up or embellish this event. It wasn't that bad even if you take his word for it. A chick got pissy for having her picture taken and hit him a few times.

If he was just attacked I can absolutely understand him being angry and such, but there is no excuse for his hateful tweets.

Bullshit. Long Island is part of the NY metro area.

This has nothing to do with the actual incident, but I've always found it weird that people are so adamant about not being photographed or filmed. I've had it a couple of times when out filming, and it's always from someone in the distant BG of a shot, or who walked in when we were already set up.

Do these people think I actally give a crap about whether they are in the shot or not? If you don't want to be filmed at all, well okay, you don't exist to me one way or another so I guess I'll wait, but they give you all this suspicion as if you are gonna package this 2 seconds of footage of them walking home with grocery bags and sell it online.

Is it an ego thing with them? Or a self-esteem thing about their looks? Or what? It seems kinda bonkers.

Since when do New Yorkers consider Strong Island, not to be apart of NY? lol

I've lived in new york state my whole life and nobody I know self identifies as a "new yorker". It pretty specifically means resident of new york city. I actually live in NYC now and still wouldn't call myself a "new yorker".

In fact when I tell people where I'm from I make sure to say "upstate new york" because when I say "new york", people generally assume the city.

So what?

New York metropolitan area includes the most populous city in the United States (New York City); counties comprising Long Island and the Mid- and Lower Hudson Valley in the state of New York; the six largest cities in New Jersey (Newark, Jersey City, Paterson, Elizabeth, Trenton, and Edison) and their vicinities; six of the seven largest cities in Connecticut (Bridgeport, New Haven, Stamford, Waterbury, Norwalk, and Danbury) and their vicinities; and five counties in Northeastern Pennsylvania, including the state's third-largest city of Allentown.

Are people from danbury connecticut new yorkers?

So...you're a New Yorker?

I think they are from Huntington... is that pretty far? How long would it take you to get to the city (Manhattan)?

I think anthony is from central islip which is a 90 mins drive from times square. He also spent a few of his teen years in california. Although californians might be new yorkers too judging by some of the recent posts in this thread..

Twitter has been the downfall of so many people, lmao

If you've ever listened to their show, it's pretty clear Opie and Anthony are two insufferable dickheads.

The show can be funny with the right guests though (the episodes with Patrice O'Neal in particular are legendary).

I doubt anything major will change in their lives.

Semantics aside, that comment is stupid. Trying to misrepresent the Menino April Fool's rumor as something more heinous is pretty telling.

Ah. Maybe Huntington is just where Opie lives/lived, now that I think about it.

Also, the Boston Mayor thing was done so they could get fired and get better contracts. To prevent this, when they got fired for the Church-Sex scandal, they were simply taken off the air and forced to sit on their asses, while getting paid millions, to NOT do radio.

Yeah Anthony is a pretty well known racist. Same with Jim Norton. Listening to that Bill Burr clip Jim getting upset some tea party asshole got punched is hilarious. What a doucebhag.

Ok. So the guy is racists and a piece of shit. Seems that was already known. Hope everyone who physically assaulted him is arrested and thrown in jail.

I'm black and while the racist language didn't exactly set me off, what I found more revolting was the vulgar language he used to describe her as a woman.

I don't know, maybe he is an asshole.

But the times Louis CK has been on the show it's been fun to listen to. That and I like Jocktober for some weird reason

They have more than just Louis CK. I'd say Bill Burr, Patrice O'Neal, Colin Quinn, and perhaps some other guys from Tough Crowd also always made the show good, particularly when there were more of them and they just start ripping into each other. Anthony and Norton really shined in that situation.

It's been a shame to watch Ant go from "guy who occasionally makes racial jokes" to "guy who shoehorns in racist tirade at the first opportunity every day". He's legitimately the funniest guy on radio, but it's almost impossible to listen to him anymore.

Yeah, it's like he got too wrapped up in his crazy conservative sites after a few years of Obama (which was basically a 9/11 in terms of turning people into crazed fanatics). Before it got bad it was easier to find humor in the childish racism bubbling under the surface, it was pretty much a caricature and they had fun playing with it. To be honest though, I haven't listened in years because of I fell out of any sort of radio (including podcasts).
