Well, it's certainly a step up for IOI. Hitman animations were atrocious compared to this.

Its good for making yrself an impression about what a game is and if you can see having fun with it. What these "influencers" have to say about it...should be really just irrelevant.

Looks aright. Hitman x Uncharted, What's not to like? (apart from the inoffensive yet offensive main character).

Not a fan of the enemies all queueing up waiting to get slapped either but i'll probably pick it up at some point.

So what if it is an extension of marketing? There is no point in marketing games? Previews aren't reviews. Most people understand that. The point is to learn more about the thing you are considering to buy. Plain and simple

Disagree, i expect ps6 games to look 2 generations better than tlou2 in many aspects even if sony has not been the same in term of graphic advancement for a while and games need to run on a fucking ps6 portable so you may be onto something unfortunately...

I think it looks great.
It's like Uncharted with crappier animations except the parts outside of combat/setpieces actually look fun.
Still worried about the console performance though (these previews are all on PC). It might be a game where I'll just wait for next gen consoles to bruteforce decent performance out of it.

To be fair, I think if the dev/publisher aren't confident they can at least provide a vertical slice that's decent they probably won't fly in media for a hands on preview.
There's a reason we didn't get any for games like Mindseye.

Also a lot of time the big issues with games like lack of enemy variety, poor pacing, repetitive design, unrewarding story, etc don't become instantly apparent if you just get to play 1-2 hours.

In those few seconds, we know they got the animations nailed at least. Here's a fantastic breakdown of that:



The weight shifting and weapon handling are all *chef's kiss*

And we know rays are being traced. The rest, yeah will have to wait and see. With so much motion blur, there's not much to analyze yet.

Most of us know our own gaming preferences enough to be able to tell when a game will be engaging for us. So it's less about other people's opinions and more about getting to see more of the game in action (but some additional opinions that confirm our own biases are always welcome).

Thats the only thing keeping me from day one on this. I've got so many games going right now.... Definitely wanna play it though.

I'm sure it will be competent at the very least. The Hitman games while a bit janky are great.

Hopefully this isn't a watered down version that looses the charm of those games.

James Bond doesn't have 00 status from the get go. If this is an origin story, he doesn't have an unrestricted license to kill in chapter 2. Don't know if that restriction changes later in the game, but it makes narrative sense at least early on. If they keep it throughout, then it's a forced gimmick to maintain the stealth vs combat flow. I'm fine with that, but it's hard to judge atm.
