One. Just the scar. That's it.

Well, at least that's something, thanks for the info. Hitman Absolution was also technically a much more linear game, but they still managed to add some replayability. Here's one of the bullet points from the game's page on Steam, it does look like IOI will try to implement some replayability into the game. But I'd be very surprised if it reaches anywhere near the levels of the Hitman games. It's just not the same type of game and it shouldn't be.

Ignore the naggers. Some of the more extreme reactions around here after the show have been bewildering. I have good faith in IO pulling off a worthwhile thrilling and exciting action adventure game at the very least. What the hell is wrong with you people. Everybody else's work looks terrible. I watched the SoP and thought surely people can't be complaining about those games. JFC.
I hope there's difficulty objectives, would be a fun throwback. Here's one of the bullet points from the game's page on Steam, it does look like IOI will try to implement some replayability into the game. 60 FPS in *Quality* mode on Pro, I'll believe it when I see it but God damn if true
Is this not on the Hitman engine?Yeah, looks junky.
See, I don't want much money spent on that stuff. Save it for gameplay, physics, AI and environments.Damn Uncharted looks awesome!! I mean 007!
Seriously, this looks damn good (except for the faces and expressions, as usual). Can't wait to see more.
It's the guy who played Young Dexter in the new prequel series (Patrick Gibson). At first I thought it was Jacob Elordi (who keeps being listed amongst the many potential names for the new movie Bond)

But he doesn't quite look the same.
Q isn't Indian, he's just very old, which is a bad choice imo.
This thing looks last gen as FUCK. It's certainly in part because of IOI and their engine, but that last scene in the car had crazy aliasing.
thicc_girls_are_teh_best do you see it now?? Do you see what handheld development does to us? The Switch 2's influence is all over this.
I like how he looks here.
What? They clearly did research on Bond. I've seen people complaining that that he was a scar on his face when that's something from the books.yikes. Someone didn't do their research and wasn't even qualified to do this. I want to like it, but it's impossible.
I played it again last year. Fun, but trying to play it like a Hitman game coming from the amazing WoA trilogy just hurts.Whoa! I just checked and Hitman Absolution is actually $1.99 currently! Most certainly worth that. Think of it as a spin off. If you look at it as a slickly polished third person action movie set in the Hitman universe, $1.99 is a hell of a price. It's very competent doing what it set out to do. There's a pretty good stealth action gameplay loop to be had. Graphics actually hold up really well and it support the Lord's favorite graphic setting: 4xMSAA Like an ancient technology, lost to the sands of time
How long has it been since you guys played it?
Why?Sickening
Looks terrible
The vibe is completely off for Bond, considering this is based on a movie series you'd think they'd aim for the same cinematic look, instead aim just getting Telltale Games vibes from the cutscenes.
Bleh!
Quality mode should be for pushing visuals to the max at 30fps. It should never be 60fps.Why?
Depends on how meaningful the visual push is at 30 fps. FF7 rebirth, Horizon FW, TLOU on Pro have all made the 30 fps mode a significant compromise compared to their 60 fps counterparts. No one in their right mind would play those games at 30 fps on the Pro. KCD 2 gets rid of it altogether for just one 60 fps mode. I think it depends on the engine and scalability options and can't be a blanket rule.Quality mode should be for pushing visuals to the max at 30fps. It should never be 60fps.
They keep shitting on people who value graphics.
They should implement Goldeneye levels of replayability. Add more tasks to open up more areas when increasing the difficulty. Here's one of the bullet points from the game's page on Steam, it does look like IOI will try to implement some replayability into the game. Just go in expecting a cool action stealth ride. It's very well polished, the graphics hold up and it's only $2 right now. Can't beat it.What? They clearly did research on Bond. I've seen people complaining that that he was a scar on his face when that's something from the books.

From Google
In the Ian Fleming James Bond novel "From Russia, with Love," Bond is described as having a "scar on his right cheek." This scar, along with other physical characteristics like blue-grey eyes and short, black hair, is a consistent part of Bond's portrayal in the novels.
Q isn't Indian, he's just very old, which is a bad choice imo.
It's an origin story.... that would seem inline with the premise I'm thinking. But I'll agree, I don't really care for the character design. No, not feeling that, Bond is far too young
To me it feels like a combination or Craig, Moore and Brosnan movies. This doesn't look like a Bond game at all. It's like they never saw a James Bond movie.
Yeah, he looks like the OG model for SM1. Feels more like the Captain America character. Too bright.Agree. He's got the most punchable face.

Ok, well in that case:
- Bond was a Naval Commander in the Navy, serving for about 20 years - Hence the Commander Bond title
- Worked as a MI6 Agent for a few years after retiring at about 37 where he was known as a hotshot secret agent, not the best in his field but got the job done
Simply put, hes far too young, he's not Nathan Drake of recklessness, hes smart and savvy, not lucky. For an Origin Story we actually have a good one in Casino Royale, I became less of a Daniel Craig Bond fan later after Spectre, but he was great in these and felt more Bond
Alternativly, I don't understand why they don't go with the 60's Bond and set it in the Cold War and the like, seems to fit this kind of Agent of that era tbh
Again, thats fine, but not with a super young almost Teen Bond, thats not his character at allIt's a mesh retelling set in modern times. Honestly it's the best way to go while they have a whole vault of stories to lead into from this point.

The graphic doesn't look that impressive so maybe they can pull it off.
Aren't modern hitman games relatively easy to run?
"That's the best way to go" is a bit of an odd assumption, respectfully.
There isn't a lot of major cold war era period piece games, but the modern shooter is fairly saturated, even tps.
Most Bond fans (I am in several communities for Bond), have been fairly negative to this.
Idk. Seems like the direction of making a modern, young Bond has been received fairly negatively by its market.
That being said, again, I pointed out prior that I am still neutral and awaiting more gameplay and info before I form an opinion. Just commenting on the general feel around the Bondosphere (and much of the gaming sphere). I think it doesn't help that the initial teaser 9 generations ago, seemed to paint it as a traditional Bond. Even though there isn't much to gleam from it, it definitely FEELS like it is hinting at a traditional Bond. That may have caught a lot of people off guard as well when they SoP reveal happened.
We shall see.
