007 First Light | State of Play Reveal Trailer (Releases 2026)

Rubbish
Reminder bond is 38 when he becomes a special agent.

Is the trilogy like all three games leading up to him becoming 007?

This is exactly what I thought we'd get from an Amazon committee doing bond.
.its just not bond.

Not sold on the looks of (young) Bond, even though he's still white. ;)

So is the game supposed to be like Uncharted? 8-10 hours of cinematic experience? Not saying it's a terrible idea, but what I loved about recent Hitman games was how much replayability was there. It wouldn't be the same if you got through each map only once or twice and finished the story in a manner of hours.

I was going to say that Sean Connery was only 32 when he first played Bond in Dr No, but then remembered people looked older back then. Connery may have been 32, but he could have easily passed for man in his mid 40s.

Well they did use the music from On Her Majesty's Secret Service, so someone over there knows what they're doing.

I was grinning like a big kid when that was playing first time. They definitley got people there that know and love Bond there is no question about it. I feel very confident on this project.

One of my most anticipated games next year. Really 2026 is going to be FUCKING INSANE!

Resident Evil, Pragmata, this, FF, KH, Fable, Forza Horizon next, Wolverine, Black Flag and Splinter Cell remake, Nintendo games, the list is never going to end.

Sc remake gonna suck ass old ass games

Im not sure about this one, Im not sure how I feel about Bonds character. He seemed a bit......annoying?

Hopefully more will come on this one as I was interested.

It was so good they had to redesign it as 47 only killed his targets in the cutscenes 🤣🤣🤣

Its a horrible Hitman game, and a passable Bourne game.
It's a very good modern stealth/action/espionage game. Definitely not a Hitman game. My gripe is despite the simplifications, they still try to use this weird sim-light aiming and ballistics system and it's not good. Here's the thing Momma Russa: if you go back and boot Absolution and just play one map, you'll agree that even in its highly reduced and streamlined state; it smokes damn near anything that came out this year in terms of quality and scope of content. Another sleeper, that's even better than Absolution: Splinter Cell Conviction. There's your Jason Bourne game.

Some people in the grapevine did say it's visually very impressive, with a lot of the core original mechanics in and enemies evolve and expand depending how you play. I am on full hopium with this because I love this series haha. Praying nothing but a miracle in all good vibes here!

I hope so but I really have very little faith in current Ubisoft..

I love SC but remakes.. fuck em. Why not make a new one while Michael Ironside is still alive?

Oh, I've already accepted that Ironside is too old now to play Sam Fisher (literally given his voice and all that now) if thinking long-term but would love to see him play the role of Lambert or others in that sense. Liev Schreiber playing as the new Sam, given the coming Netflix stuff, seems like a good fit and worth trying. Modern Ubisoft is definitely a joke as well and not too fond of their ways, but when they are in this kind of dire situation and still have some people who care within, there is a huge Possibility they will deliver a true-to-good Splinter Cell that both fits the old core mechanics while feeling fluid and responsive in today's age.

Whoa! I just checked and Hitman Absolution is actually $1.99 currently! Most certainly worth that. Think of it as a spin off. If you look at it as a slickly polished third person action movie set in the Hitman universe, $1.99 is a hell of a price. It's very competent doing what it set out to do. There's a pretty good stealth action gameplay loop to be had. Graphics actually hold up really well and it support the Lord's favorite graphic setting: 4xMSAA Like an ancient technology, lost to the sands of time

How long has it been since you guys played it?

Man... not too sure about this. Doesn't look like a Bond game at all but just another Uncharted entry, full of DEI and modern-HR-approved quips. :/

Characters look fine to me personally. Nothing that hasn't been done before with the recent films.

From the little actual gameplay that was there it looks good enough. Wife and I shuddered a bit when we saw what Bond looks like. She said that they should have gone with Henry Cavil and I agree. I also don't think the scar on the face was a good idea, from memory Bond has always been a clean looking well spoken badass.

Apparenty he does have a scar in the books.

He has a scar in the novels where which has taken a lot of inspiration from in respect of the character. One of the reasons I am full on optimistic for this coming potential Bond Kino. Really hyped even now haha.

I mean, graphically iy's ok, I guess?

I just don't gel with the art style. It comes off as cartoonish, not a great fit for Bond. And we know how Bond became a 00 already. He had to assassinate two targets. That's the origin story. Casino Royale is his origin story. His first case as a 00, I wanted Bond back in the fun direction, but man, this one feels like a money's paw.

Also, he has the same smirk as:

In the books James Bond has a scar on his cheek which never happened in the movies, so in a sense the game is also portraying the character more faithfully in certain aspects.
IOI took some but also gave some is the way to see it here I guess.

Here's one of the bullet points from the game's page on Steam, it does look like IOI will try to implement some replayability into the game. But I'd be very surprised if it reaches anywhere near the levels of the Hitman games. It's just not the same type of game and it shouldn't be.

I was one of the 1st to shit on this game in the thread but re-watching, it actually looks a lot better? Looks less cartoony in better resolution.

Also, people shitting on the actor, go watch Dexter Original Sin.

Absolutely loved Original Sin and why I am even more excited for the guy getting the Bond role. Guy is cool in my books!

Even though I'm not really vibing with his look, I guess they're trying to capture a younger audience, I'm totally in for the action. Can't wait to play this on the max difficulty, presumably "00 agent", mode.

It's portraying Bond more faithfully because of a scar?

That's it?!

LMAO 🤣

It remains to be seen if it is as good as Bloodstone (2011) it's crazy that we haven't had a great Bond game since then, and how long has this been in development for? Yet they need ANOTHER year? Even the Gamecube/PS2/Xbox era Bond games didn't take as long to come out/release...

Modern game dev and AAA for you. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Everyone does know that if this game flops, then that will have an impact on how soon we get another Bond game, could be another 8-10 years....a lot of franchises out there can tell you that (ie Alone in the Dark, Dead Space, Guardians of the Galaxy, Mass Effect, Deus Ex)

It looks good, Hitman-like at times but also fully action based at others.

I'm a fan of the young Bond take, something different.

I did and really enjoyed it, but he doesn't seem like a Bond to me. But it's probably too early to judge. In this trailer I don't really dig him much as Bond, but we'll see. IO is tomorrow, right?

You mean Far Cry 3, Dishonored, The Walking Dead, Max Payne 3, Mass Effect 3 or XCOM reboot? Yeah, sure.

Damn Uncharted looks awesome!! I mean 007!

Seriously, this looks damn good (except for the faces and expressions, as usual). Can't wait to see more.
