007 First Light | State of Play Reveal Trailer (Releases 2026)

just rewatched it on a bigger screen. Not very impressed graphic wise but gameplay look like it could be a lot of fun.

Loves the trailer but i agree he is not British enough and far too young but as the title suggests, they are going for an origina story and i guess they want to keep up with sequels.

I just hope it plays better than Hitman, because i really hate how Hitman moves in their games.

Looks terrible

The vibe is completely off for Bond, considering this is based on a movie series you'd think they'd aim for the same cinematic look, instead aim just getting Telltale Games vibes from the cutscenes.

Bleh!
Yeah, and I have to say especially after Hitman 3 where every mission borderline felt like they were wrapping up that story while preparing for Bond - this is just a total 180 of anything I expected, pure combat isn't their expertise and it shows. Hitman 3 is arguably the best Bond-esque game ever created and it being made by the same studio? The irony is peak.

Beautiful women?
Wait, none of these women are beautiful?!

So apparently it is confirmed that the actor that plays James Bond is Patrick Gibson, which plays the role of Dexter in Original sin.

I am a big fan if Dexter but I don't think they made the right reason choosing this guy for the role to be honest.

It seems like another Tom Holland situation

The negativity in the gaming sphere is just insane these days. This looks really great to me, like an evolution of the Hitman games with a Bond theme. I personally don't care about Bond, but I do trust the Hitman devs to turn this into something special and it clearly looks like they're getting the freedom to turn this into the game they want to make. Cool!

Yeah it really sucked for the films that they couldn't do sequels since they started off with an older Bond. Oh wait.

Not the most impressive looking game, but it reminds me or Conviction and Blacklist gameplay-wise so I'm in. Plus it looks like it's going to be a lot more story-driven that Hitman, so it's a plus too cuz unlike the rest of the world, I still think Absolution was the best game since Blood Money.

Some of these negative comments are wild. How does the game look cartoonish ? The visual style looks almost the same as Hitman WoA, and that was a very good visual style.

As for the character himself, i think he looks fine for a young, late 20s Bond. Some people were saying Tom Holland, but i'm getting a younger Henry Cavill vibe (just look at his portrait in the ending card).

The only complaint i have from this trailer is that it did not give a clear indication of the gameplay. Is it going to be stealth focused like Hitman or a more action-shooter ? I guess we'll find out in the gameplay reveal they mentioned.

At first I thought it was Jacob Elordi (who keeps being listed amongst the many potential names for the new movie Bond)

But he doesn't quite look the same.

Trailer is awesome, has all the ingredients of cinematic Bond. Action, ladies, gadgets, stealth, car chases, globetrotting adventure.
Some people here comparing it with Uncharted... they must be 15 or something. Uncharted is not some original art, its a mashup of Indy , Bond and other works.
Regarding the tone, nobody wants dark and gritty. This isn't Schindlers List folks.
Day one for me.

Yeah, but in any case, i think the character model looks perfectly fine as a young Bond.

The second image here definitely gives off discount Henry Cavill vibes.

It looks great. Really good graphics, varied gameplay, and it seems like it'll have an interesting story.

It's a bit jarring to see such a young James Bond, almost leaning into that awful current "Fortnite" doll-like style, but it pulls through and the art direction wins me over.

Call me excited. Mostly being that Hitman is my favorite franchise and I believe IOI can pull this off when it comes to gameplay.

Art style is maybe a little too "happy" for my taste, but if the gameplay is solid I can see through it.

Could be okay, but not sold. Bond looks like he was based off Tom Cruise which is weird given Mission Impossible.

likewise they really need to fix the facial animations - Every character when talking makes it look like they were born with a hair lip.

Agreed, i don't want a dark and gritty Bond. The Hitman games had their fair share of campiness, and most of the Bond movies before Daniel Craig had it too. So a more upbeat, colorful tone is fine with me, as long as they tell a good story with some stakes.

I think a lot of people who are saying that the tone or visual style is too "happy", should go back and watch some of the Brosnan movies, or if they have the patience, some of the Connery movies. They are swashbuckling spy stories, not fucking Zack Snyder's Batman or something. Bond was never dark or gritty, he was always upbeat, and the movies never took themselves too seriously.

The dark and gritty bullshit virus only infected the series during Daniel Craig's tenure.

Vibes feel off on it, I think it's that it's too bright and feels more like a Mission Impossible game? It's a ways off still but what?

If you think the games are going to be bad wait until you see what those algorithmic driven drone cunts at Amazon do with the movies.

Dead man walking franchise.

Some of the takes on here make 0 sense. This game is an origin story about before james bond became james bond essentially. This game is about him earning his stripes and the prestige that came with the name '007'. I think the graphics looked great and it seems like a game that still has months to go in development 'which it does' so I don't see the problem here. Game will probably be epic AF.

Bond looks a bit too young. I hope the game will have some explanation how such a young man earned the double-o status (beside that one line in the trailer).

Otherwise - looks great. It has gadgets, beautiful women (fuck all the incels saying otherwise), car chases, bombastic action sequences, all the good Bond stuff.

Recent Hitman games already felt like a Bond movie in a lot of respects, if anyone can pull it off, it's certainly ioi.

Day 1 for me.

Hitman Absolution was always good. One of the most underrated games just because mainstream reviewers didn't like. Play it. If it came out this year it would be in the running for GOTY.
It was so good they had to redesign it as 47 only killed his targets in the cutscenes 🤣🤣🤣

Its a horrible Hitman game, and a passable Bourne game.

I'm conflicted, I like the concept, I love the developer but I absolutely hate the main character and his stupid-ass Dreamworks face.

I thought I would be more excited about it but maybe the gameplay will sell it.

I liked that they went with a young bond and correct looking with the scar , so that if the game is good they can make it into a series with bond ageing along
