007 Legends |OT| This never happened to the other guys..

Spoiling movies hasn't been a problem for licensed things since forever. If it was such an issue, they should have delayed the game.

It's a stupid solution to a problem that no one cared about.

Licensed games are generally released within a week of a consoles release. If they did that with 007 legends it would have fallen smackdab in the middle of Halo 4/CODBLOPS2 territory. I get why they released it earlier. If you hold it too long after release you miss out on the pre-release buzz and anything right after is in a very crowded season. I get why they released it now and without the Skyfall content. It still doesn't really have that much room to breathe though.

Quantum of solace still had a decent community the last time I hopped on. EA would have shut all these down already.

Quantum of Solace was overall pretty decent for a Bond game. Remember enjoying it tremendously back in the day.

On topic; I dont get why they didnt include the ending in 007 Legends. Thats awfully puzzling.

Its the Skyfall chapter right?

Played Quantum of Solace a year or so ago and got the PLAT.
Really enjoyed it and indeed was surprised that the MP community was still pretty good.
Not to mention the MP itself was pretty fun similar to COD but enough there to be it's own thing. Also I have to agree if it was EA game would already be offline.

(Seriously all games need P2P so that people can still play if its taken offline)

I remember the MP being pretty laggy, with delayed kills. But regardless it was entertaining. It had some cool modes.

Agent Under Fire is very underrated. I never see anyone discussing it.

Agent Under Fire is fucking Great.
One of my favorites. Especially MP with the grappling hook.
Tons of fun, Thought I was the only one who enjoyed it.

Everything or Nothing was pretty good to. Especially for being a 3rd person game.
Same with Blood Stone (though the MP there was lacking)
The less we say about Rogue Agent the better, it wasnt the worse but wasnt even close to being as good as the first 2 EA games.

I really liked Nightfire, thought it had a lot of freedom (particularly the first level at the Castle and one later on where you had the crossbow) and refined a lot about Agent Under Fire.

I felt it was a bit clunkier at times (control wise) and had a more serious tone whereas Agent Under Fire was a smoother experience with a classic tongue-in-cheek style.

Still, the PS2 Bond games were great memories and played the shit out of them. AUF multi with grappling hooks and jetpacks were kickass. Loved that VIP in the train station level.

I was going to bring it up earlier but thought i'd be alone in appreciating its cheesy cutscenes and dialogue.
Bond fires out quips on a worryingly high basis, it really makes the single player. The game itself is okay, maybe not that great but I enjoyed it at the time.

Oh yes, Q Claw, every wall grapple enabled, one shot kills, delightful.

I got Nightfire but I stopped around some stealth mission.

Anyway, I really need to pick up Agent Under Fire again.

I can barely remember Nightfire's single player, only played a few stages, in that game it was all about multiplayer on that snow stage with the cable car.
Occasionally my git friend would use Oddjob, not content with simply being hard to shoot the game also gave him his instant kill hat.

Anyone recall the Nightfire Gearbox fiasco?

The version of the game Gearbox created for the PC was running on a completely different engine and was literally missing half the game. It was a stripped down rendition of the original game.

A dark day for Gearbox...

it's a pretty decent shooter, I really like it.

Yes and yes. Great memories. The Goldeneye match type was pretty good, collecting pieces of the Goldeneye and then it would fire on the other team.

You know if they fixed up the mechanics a bit in GE: Rogue Agent it would be great.

It's a guilty pleasure but I kinda enjoy Rogue Agent.

Cool. Which games did you work on? And where are you working now? If you can't tell us for fear of revealing your true identity, feel free to say so and we'll move on.

Well I worked on TWINE & Nightfire. My avatar gives a subtle clue as to what I'm up to now ;)

I imagine the lack of Skyfall is down to the same reason TWINE came out a year after the film, and EA started doing original plots - the film people are very secretive about the plots of the movies. TWINE has this level where you chase Goldie around Istanbul, and we only found out it had been dropped from the script when we saw the film in the cinema.

So this game goes against the theory that James Bond is actually just a code name but instead implies that it's been the one dude this whole time? Not sure how I feel about that.

Whoa, really? I found one of these discs in a 25 cent pile and decided to give it a shot (on XBOX). I enjoy digging up super dirt cheap discs of games I was curious about many years ago.

I could not BELIEVE how terrible the game felt. The shooting could not have been less satisfying, the presentation was cheap, the level design poor, and nothing about it compelled me to continue. It's a mess.

Everything or Nothing is so much more impressive.

I see, you're moving on to 007 racing for PS360?

Yeah I'd assume that's why they dropped the movie adaptations, none the less it seems this project was seemingly doomed from the start.

You should feel shaken...but not stirred up about it.

well that's it felt like a cheap shooter with super generic enemies and shameless uses of bond villains for a EXTREEEEEEEEEEME HALO LIKE SHOOTER.

It is fun in a very stupid way.

I actually remember this because one of my friends had the PC version and was having trouble getting past the first stage, since me and others assumed the games were the same we were baffled by his explanation of the stage itself.
When I finally did see the PC version it was pretty bad.

Oh yeah, that was a good mode, at this time I need to express my disappointment in Goldeneye Wii's multiplayer mode, outside of the amusing feature you can turn on where standing still for too long or running into another player causes you to explode, that game got walloped with the CoD style and was thoroughly underwhelming on that front.

You should feel shaken...but not stirred up about it.

Can't unsee Roger Moore as The Saint myself, they should make a game based on The Saint with its amazing opening theme.

 you got that completely wrong. You probably mean lan. p2p is much more vulnerable to being taken down over dedicated servers. But then again the whole mw2 debacle really allowed the whole p2p/servers issue fester with misinformation.

Side note, but what is up with Craig's face looking like shit in every game?

Even brosnan's face transfers over to games better last gen.

Maybe next gen...

Wait is skyfall Craig's last bond movie?

That'd be pretty great, I haven't really seen enough of The Saint myself personally though, I should fix that.
Roger Moore was my first exposure to Bond.

He's 'Bond' as I know him...until I saw Sean Connery who is just fantastic.

Daniel Craig still isn't 'Bond' to me, he's like a John Cena; a hero for a new age and I can respect that, but he isn't my hero.

WHAT?! Fuck. I only had a PC back when I was young and I loved the shit out of the game. Gotta try track me down a console version.

eh, I'm not really a fan of gearbox anyways. They acted like they were doing the world a favor by putting out Duke Nukem Forever, then got offended when people realized it was shitty.

Daniel Craig is better than Brosnan and Dalton by far. I haven't seen enough of the older Bonds to able to make that claim. But Casino Royale is the best Bond movie I've ever seen.

Anyway is this game basically what GB showed in the quick look? Call of Duty skinned with James Bond flicks?

Dalton and Brosnan were never my favorite, but they felt more 'Bond'. It's probably just the childhood nostalgia, though.

And yes, this is the game on the GB QL.

Craig compared to Cena?

Never thought I'd see that.
Analogies aren't my strong suit but it's all I could come up with.

I hope someone, somewhere got it.

Nightfire PC was running on the Half Life 1 engine but they still managed to fill it with bugs.

That PC exclusive level was just ugh. Some skyscraper with a dozen identical floors. I ended up just running down the fire escape you start at until I hit the bottom.

I'll be honest, I LOVE the fact that they released Duke. It was very clearly the game that was being made (same as the leaked assets when it was first shut down). I'm pleased that we had a chance to actually play it ourselves regardless of quality.

Fair enough, I'm a fan of all the bonds.

exactly. I can't speak for the novels but it has been proven that it's the same bond in all of the movies sans CR and forwards. this video brings up valid points that really disproves this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VnQtXihSR4&feature=plcp

Yeah I remember all those things he brings up, even in Everything or Nothing they bring up a View to a kill and yes it's the same bond.

Does anyone else's XBOX Live connection keep cutting out with this game? Everything else works fine, but for some reason I can barely get through a single match without being disconnected. The game's not great anyway, but since I'll be writing a review, it'd be good to know whether this is a problem at my end (albeit seemingly linked exclusively to this game) or the game's.

sorry to keep bumping this thread for this but I'll continue to be playing 007 games on stream

one people don't know about is quantum of solace game for PS2 which was a 3rd person

Quantum of Solace

I get it, I always say John Cena is the new Hogan in a lot of ways, Hogan was my hero growing up, and while I like Cena today he can't take that place Hogan has. As for me with Craig and the other bonds... he's actually the only bond I like that isn't Sean Connery.
