According to Wikipedia, five spots are left for the Rumble. There are only seven Smackdown stars in it. Where's Ziggler, Morrison, and McIntyre? Maybe they will take three of the spots, and then finally Edge and a one time appearance (please be Awesome Kong).
How many surprise entrances are there normally? Don't they normally have a few oldies in there, as well?

I'm surprised there are only 5 spots left, to be honest.

Yeah I don't get it either.

i've been straight edge for 10 years. and this shit is pretty standard, i usually spend a few days a month to go out recruiting and i bring an electric razor with me.

There isn't a roll eyes big enough.

I hope you're being sarcastic.

Striker is awesome. The card tonight looks really great too, but I didn't read the spoilers so it could be too good to be true.

Watch out for the Batista segment. Looks like he just stepped in off the 18th.

I was wondering what you were talking about, and then I saw Batista. :lol

He has a golf matchup after the show of course.

Will watch later, but maybe this means they'll bring Kerwin White back!

I'm stunned at whoever did this Mickie James fat angle. Ridiculous.

One of the few Smackdown women wrestlers who can work a match w/o botching and this is what she gets? No wonder Victoria left.

Michelle McCool needs to get off my TV screen forever. She sucks whether she's a heel or face. I'm patiently waiting for the day when Beth Pheonix squashes her for the title.

Not unless Sugar Daddy Taker has something to say about it.

I guess they're setting up for Mysterio to beat UT Sunday. :\

How the hell did you get that? :lol

Anyhow, its weird how the WWE books sometimes, I mean it would look like aiming for Batista/HHH program, which wouldn't be too bad, but we know that's not gonna happen.

Anyhow, solid episode of Smackdown.

That was a great Smackdown. Why can't Raw have shows like that one?

Over 50 min of wrestling, promos that get straight to the point and short backstage skits.

I don't know. Just seemed that they were playing the against-all-odds angle too much.

Good to see that CM Punk is building a Straight Edge stable. Needs a cruiserweight, and a dysfunctional average sized member to make it complete.

And :lol :lol :lol ! the TNA Tweets on the last page. Even funnier if you know the stories behind them.

So far a good Smackdown episode. But while I did read spoilers, the end results of a few matches still bug me. R-Truth over Chris Jericho, for example.

I can also see Rey Mysterio winning at RR; not as simplistic as it may sound, because let's face it, Taker is battling injuries and rarely appears on shows. Mysterio can still pull out great feuds with guys like Chris Jericho, CM Punk, Ziggler, and others (sans Taker and Dave). I'm hoping for a Mysterio/Punk WM match; helps that it's been a rumor as well (hair vs. mask).

What the hell was Batista wearing?

Pink polo shirts and now this? I don't know him anymore.

Well he's still playing his Evolution role.

They turned a muscle head to a person who knows what to do with his power (HHH) and dress in style (Flair). When he cuts a promo at the start of a show, he's usually in a suit.

Jericho's likely getting punished for that incident with the Hurricane where they got into a fight. Hurricane got yanked from the Rumble.

Davey Richards re-signs with ROH, gets pulled from EVOLVE & Dragon Gate USA as a result;

Davey Richards Re-signs With ROH
Friday, January 29, 2010

(Bristol, PA- January 29, 2010) Ring of Honor is proud to announce that Davey Richards has signed a contract renewal.

After debuting for Ring of Honor on June 3, 2006 in East Windsor, CT, Richards has gone on to prove himself a standout in-ring performer and has taken wrestling by storm. He is a two time former ROH World Tag Team Champion (with Rocky Romero and Eddie Edwards), and had a standout year in 2009 with top shelf matches against a number of competitors, including the tremendous bout against KENTA at "Supercard of Honor IV", the brilliant contest with Bryan Danielson at "The Final Countdown Tour: Boston", and the excellent World Title match against Austin Aries at "Aries vs. Richards".

As part of The American Wolves, Richards and Eddie Edwards set the tone for tag team wrestling in 2009 with classic confrontations against Bryan Danielson and Tyler Black at "Tag Title Classic", and Kevin Steen and El Generico in Ladder War II at "Glory By Honor VIII", in addition to bringing the tag team art back to a National audience with several tremendous matches which aired exclusively on HDNet.

"Davey has been a tremendous asset to our company for several years," said ROH President Cary Silkin. "He's an exceptional talent and we look forward to seeing him compete in ROH for a long time to come."

Davey Richards is the first talent announced a gigantic weekend of action for Ring of Honor in Phoenix, AZ on March 26th and 27th. Richards will also be appearing in Philadelphia on February 5th and 6th, New York City on February 13th, Dearborn, MI on March 19th, and Mississauga, Ontario on March 20th, and will be a part of our debut in Charlotte, NC on April 3rd.

Please check ROHWrestling.com for more of Davey Richards’ upcoming appearances.

Sucks for EVOLVE, Davey being involved was a huge reason why I was paying attention (hell, i'm buying their first show just for Davey vs Ibushi...ok, TJP vs Sawa too), but I can only guess that signing himself up to an exclusive ROH contract means he'll be getting a huge push soon, either winning the new TV Title or the ROH World Heavyweight Championship.

Also, here's the results for ROH's debut show in L.A @ WrestleReunion IV; http://www.rohwrestling.com/MessageBoard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=50130

Sounds like a pretty good event (well, except for Zbyszko vs Scotty 2 Hotty, seriousley what the fuck were they doing on the show?) - can't wait to see Aries vs Liger or the main event, Jerry Lynn vs Kenny King sounds like it was pretty good too.

The incident happened after the Smackdown tapings, so he would've already been booked to lose. Though this isn't going to help him in the Rumble.

Oh snap, ROH sues Ric Flair o_O

http://www.pwinsider.com/article/44701/ring-of-honor-sues-ric-flair.html?p=1

Ring of Honor filed a lawsuit against Ric Flair this past Thursday in Bucks County, PA, alleging Flair owed the company over $40,000. The lawsuit stems from Flair failing to live up to his contracted obligations as the "ROH Ambassador" on ROH on HDNet tapings and ROH live events.

ROH's lawsuit alleged that Flair was originally signed to make five appearances at ROH house shows for $10,000 an appearance. Flair failed to appear at a scheduled ROH event on Montreal In July 2009 and has, to date, failed to return his $10,000 payment for that event.

The lawsuit also alleged that Flair only attended one ROH on HDNet Television Taping after coming to terms with the group to appear in an authority figure role. Flair appeared at one taping and at the next set, made a brief announcement to the live crowd that he was resigning the commission due to his relationship with WWE. The lawsuit noted that Flair was paid $35,000 for the TV appearances and only made one appearance.

At the time, the belief was Flair intended to use ROH as a place where his youngest son Reid could work. Those plans were stalled when Reid was arrested on several drug charges last year.

ROH officials declined to comment on the suit.

Didn't realise Flair was making quite so much for his pathetic appearances.

Well as the story comes out more and more, it seems like it was a harmless incident, I could be mistaken.

And if anything, I see Helms getting the brut of the abuse, I mean he is on ECW so he's just gonna job to Ryder, woo woo woo.

Anyhow, Jericho isn't gonna win the Rumble so the best is for his feud to start with Edge.

Pretty crappy list if you ask me. The fact that he includes the UFC is just bizarre.

The Observer has always devoted way too many pages to UFC. That was easily my least favorite part of the newsletter when I was a subscriber.

Dave Meltzer reports that there is talk within WWE of making RAW three-hours each week if TNA moves to Monday nights for good.

Apparently the USA Network is high on RAW going to three-hours but Vince and Stephanie McMahon are both said to be against it. Word is that this is something being talked about a lot among some in the company.

dear lord no

Pretty good match

/envy - what was the show like overall? The main event of RVD vs Hero vs Strong sounded amazing on paper.

Will there be a DVD of the show eventually?

Yeah, but PWG are usually the slowest at producing & releasing dvds on the indies - still waiting for them to release the Battle of LA shows from November.
