It was a friendship born in prison. A friendship based on murder, adultery and lies. A friendship that will be tested in a hail of gunfire in a small American town.

Friendship, NY. Coming this fall to AMC.

Stay safe NY gaf.

I'd watch that! It's like Shawshank Redemption, except no one is innocent.

Starring Jeff Tom Green and Vincent Pastore.

I hope they are caught alive, I really want to know how they evaded 800 police for 2 weeks. I'm thinking they are spending the day in the sewers and coming out at night & raiding fast food garbage dumpsters.

I just had a dream that one of the killers came to my parents house and robbed it. He figured out I informed the police at the end of the dream and was about to kill me

More news. Cops found their DNA in a burglarized cabin in Upstate New York. Still haven't caught them yet.

Second New York prison worker charged in breakout: police
A second New York prison employee was arrested on Wednesday for the escape of two convicted murderers who have eluded a massive police manhunt for almost three weeks, police said.

Clinton Correctional Facility officer Gene Palmer, 57, allegedly took frozen hamburger meat embedded with smuggled tools to the inmates, Richard Matt and David Sweat, CNN quoted Clinton County District Attorney Andrew Wylie as saying.

Wylie also said Palmer escorted the men into the catwalk area behind their cells to fix electrical breakers so the inmates could use hot plates to cook food. Authorities have said Matt and Sweat used the catwalks during their June 6 escape.

I'm shocked this story hasn't been more popular on gaf. It's crazy how they haven't been caught yet. It took under 2 days to catch the Boston Marathon bombers. These guys haven't been caught in nearly 3 weeks.

it really isn't.

The boston marathon bombers weren't career criminals. these two are.

We had an escape at one of our institutions years ago here in PA. That dude made it all the way to California, and only got himself caught because he was dumb enough to brag about the escape to the wrong people.

edit: here it is.

I just wonder what's the incentive, though.

99% of the time it's either sex or money. Definitely sex for the woman who got caught first. Dumpy, middle aged women are drawn to inmates like flies to shit. It's a chronic problem. I have stories I won't tell here that are just unbelievable.

Please share your stories if you can.

I can't believe that these women fall for these convicts because it's just a matter of time that they'll get caught. According to the NY Post, Mitchell had sex at least 100 times in the sewing shop storage closet with David Sweat.

Mitchell spent her jailhouse days giggling, chatting and showering gifts on convicted cop-killer David Sweat in the Clinton Correctional Facility workplace she was supposed to be supervising, said the former prisoner, Erik Jensen.

She would routinely end her shift by disappearing into the 8-foot-by-15-foot stockroom with the 35-year-old Sweat for at least a half-hour at a time, said Jensen.

“He was getting it on with her,” Jensen said. “Or she was doing sexual favors for him.”

Mitchell, 51, gave the other inmates an unlikely excuse for her storage-closet tête-à-têtes with Sweat — she said they were just counting the clothes made by each prisoner.

But no one was fooled.

CNN is reporting that law enforcement found them.

Richard Matt was shot by police and David Sweat is being chased by them.

Yooooo

"Multiple news sources: Police have shot, wounded 1 of 2 escaped convicts in upstate New York. http://t.co/kYkIpCJIH4"

Fuck yeah, finally. I feel like we get one of these every few years upstate and it gives a bizarre lingering tension that is a huge relief when it is gone.

Edit: Where did the shooting happen?

Word, I suspected all that hornell/alfred shit was false leads, perhaps even intentional. North and towards Canada always seemed like the logical movement. Western and STNY is getting you no where.

"Fatally" seems to have been added by the NYT, I don't see that anywhere else.

Cadyville is also like 2-3 hours from Malone, so that's a pretty huge distance.

Oh man one is dead? I don't know how to distinguish them other than "guy with big dick" and the guy who isn't that guy. Which got shot?

The New York State Police said in a statement on Friday that a law enforcement officer “spotted a man in a wooded area” in Malone. An officer then “shot and killed a man believed to be Clinton Correctional Facility escapee Richard Matt,” the statement said.

“A positive identification is still pending,” it said.

Sounds like this is Brazil or World War II USA. If I was in the U.S., I would be less afraid of these guys and more afraid of the police.

This is such a rural area that you'd have to live here to understand what it's like. The police presence has been a source of fascination and comfort for everyone here. (less so for relatives of law enforcement who worry for their safety, one inmate was a cop killer and the other dismembered his boss)

The only way they presented any danger to anyone was if two men fitting the description ran through the woods pretending to be the inmates. And you'd get poison ivy and be covered in bugbites and shit doing that, so it's not recommended.
