The Canadian channels (Sportsnet in particular) have been showing Euro league games, and the NHL Network has been showing mainly NCAA and classic ones. But man you'd have to be one MASSIVE Brendan Morrison fan to make watching that televised sedative worthwhile.
So you worried at all that Ovechkin has shown himself to be... a wee bit eccentric?
Sitting by himself on the bench between periods, constantly pointing to his name and the C on his chest in a way that Deion Sanders would decry as "too hotdog", and general oddness in interviews and on the ice have me thinking the Pens really might have won the 2004 draft by losing the lottery.
Hehe well Ovechkin would have to become flat out batshit insane, like Hannibal Lecter insane, before it starts to count against his unreal ability, but I'd say it's probably 50-50 right now whether he or Malkin will be the better NHLer in 5 years. And really that's good for the Pens just because it was so damn sad watching those sad sacks lose the lottery. It's probably way too early to even speculate about it, but I can imagine Ovechkin turning out a bit like Jagr - sure his talent and size will mean he's an elite player no matter what, but maybe in 10 years or so his little character quirks will make him less effective and valuable as a player than he should be.
