This is a Yankee gift for Wells. It's "let score two quick, and then swing like shit at everything else he throws". They're hooking him up for all those wondeful years of service.

i refuse to read anything posted today because its likely to piss me off.

hopefully no one sweeps the sox/o's series while the yanks get to feast on the royals.

Name your quarter-ish season award winners....

MVP AL - A-Rod
MVP NL - Derek Lee
CY Young AL - Roy Halladay
CY Young NL - Dontrelle Willis

I dunno about giving the AL Cy Young to this point to Roy Halladay. I'd be more inclined to giving it over to Kenny Rogers or Erik Bedard, but both of them have such awesome freakin infields that it's actually weighing in on my decision. Roger Clemens would get fucked out of the Cy Young because of the fact that he plays for the Disastros.

I'd sooner give the AL MVP to Tino Martinez than to A-Rod as well. He was the catalyst behind the Yankees' long winning streak.

The White Sox collapse has begun. If the team doesn't start hitting they won't even win their division much less make the playoffs. I can't believe all the whiney White Sox fans on the radio complaining Frank Thomas is coming back to mess up the chemistry. Guess what! You can't win 2-1 and 3-2 games all year! The hitters need to step up eventually and Thomas is a guy who can drive in runs!

(Roy Halladay was scheduled to appear in this post, but he's busy paying homage to The Gambler..otherwise known as the best pitcher in the AL!

-Halladay

Ranks 1st in AL in W (8) • Ranks 1st in AL in IP (85.0)
• Ranks 2nd in AL in SO (59) • Ranks 3rd in AL in ERA (2.54)
• Ranks 1st in AL in WHIP (0.95) • Ranks 5th in AL in WPct (.800)
• Ranks 1st in AL in CG (4) • Ranks 2nd in AL in BAA (.219)

- Kenny Freakin' Rogers

• Ranks 4th in AL in W (6) • Ranks 9th in AL in IP (69.1)
• Ranks 1st in AL in ERA (1.69) • Ranks 10th in AL in WPct (.750)
• Ranks 8th in AL in CG (1)

Halladay has 9 less walks and 35 more strikeouts

I'm not pro or anti White Sox, but damn I'm hoping their starters get the horseshoe they have wedged up their collective ass removed ASAP. Seeing Garland get lit up like a string of cheap christmas lights was a good first step, but I can't wait till Buerle gets touched hard too. I think a road trip to Texas in August to get manhandled by what will be the Best Offense in the Majors by the end of the year (and yes, I have Teixeira, Young and Blalock in my keeper league so I'm teh bias) is just the thing.

Basically I'm just sick of the fluky buggers in my fantasy league acting like they're fucking Earl Weaver because they picked up Garland after his 3rd game. ;)

And Fifty said it all - how can any sane person say that anyone other than Halladay could be the AL Cy Young winner at this point?

My poor poor Stros...Its gotten to the point where I enjoy watching you suffer.

i only enjoy it when roger doesn't start nowadays...

another great start wasted

You like how our amazing pen came in and just gave up 4 quick runs...good times.

:lol make that 7 runs in the top of the 9th.

Franco gave up 3 runs and Russ Asspringer came in and tossed whiffle balls around and they lit him up for 4 quick runs.

And now the game has ended with another game where Roger pitched great, the O put up 0 runs and the pen imploded.

Final score was a lovely 9-0.

18-32....building championship teams is Mclanes goal.

It must suck to be a Stros fan.

Garner should have saw this coming and quit after the end of last year.

What pisses me off more than anything is the fact that Mclane took the Beltran shit till the last minute and didnt have a f-ing backup plan and ruined his chance of resigning Kent or anyone else.I can understand fully why he was so into getting the Giant-Mole to sign long term but jesus they didnt even have a backup plan to sign anyone else...instead they threw tons of money at Roger *who is still pitching great* for one year...FOR WHAT? so he can get dumb ass fans in their seats a few times a month when he pitches at home. How did he expect to win shit with the team they're fielding and with Bags and Biggio getting older.

Speaking of Bags,if this new surgery doesnt fix his f-ing shoulder...for the love of god just walk away so the Stros can take you off the books and get some talent.

what a fucking choke, how do you walk the 8 and 9 hitters?

and then weakass timo perez has the game winning hit. more luck for the sox

yeah, luck has gotten us the best record in baseball all year long. and that's also the same reason we've led our division since opening day, right?

Dempster! Dempster can close games! It's an amazing feeling to go into the 9th and actually think your closer will finish the game out for you!

BTW, the day I never thought in 2005 has arrived. THE CUBS ARE A GAME ABOVE .500!

Whats super wonderful about this season?

The fact that you get excited about being a game over .500 the same year the Stros are sucking huge amounts of butt.

That is true.

Whenever I feel bad about the Cubs season, I think about how pitifully bad it must be to be a stros fan and I feel much better. :D

Being a Dodgers fan is always such a constant battle my friends. I know as the year progresses we'll probably get hot and run off a bunch of wins in a row, but it's so painful to watch when they struggle.

After all the turmoil we've had to endure this year, it is going to be the sweetest world series victory ever!

Maybe know Jim Tracy will actually realize that Wilson Alvarez doesnt have what it takes to be a starter anymore. It's Scott Erickson all over again with this shit although we dont have anyone to fill in for Perez. Ledee shouldnt be in the starting line-up either, he needs to stay a pinch hitter where he actually contributes. Drew continues to play like $55 million dollars worth of ass at the plate. This team is cursed with injuries this year, Bradley might be down for a while and Perez is far from returning. =\...

only thing i don't particularly like is Willis. Although, it also depends on how high you took him. He has a bit of a history not playing as well in the second half of the year.
your RPs are outstanding though.

I picked him kinda high

I have a good feeling he'll continue his dominance

Big game tommorrow for the Cubs. If the Cubs can win tommorrow they'll finish the month 14-13. Would be a great way to bring some momentum into June as the Cubbies started the month 0-6.

I have to believe that you jinxed us!

No sport is more frustrating than baseball when your guys keep flying out..Such a depressing and helpless play.

No, I wasn't dead. Although the Stros aren't helping any. Then again, I had the exact lineup we currently have in MVP baseball...and I started the season 4-11. Nice. :(

I think that trading Gagne makes sense *if* you know you can't keep him forever. He's at his maximum trade value, they have an able closer ready to take the job and he's got a fat contract. Add a few injuries this year to make you sweat about a lingering elbow injury coming back to limit him and I could see the Dodgers doing it if they got a couple of good players back. I don't think it's necessarily a great idea, but you can see why the Dodgers might be thinking about it if they don't think they have the team to compete this year.

Out of curiousity, do the rumours mention a destination? I'd love to be able to tell my brother (who has had Gagne as one of his keepers for the last few years in our fantasy league) that he's going to end up in some hitters park in the AL to get bombed by good slugging teams. And yes I have Brazoban. ;)
