The forum's other Jays fans must have missed the game or been at the dome.....because I noticed no one posted about the best and biggest Jays win of the season :D

My throat is ragged from yelling all game. HUGE win. 2-3 so far from the Angels.....proving we're still fighting and this will be a 4 team race in the AL East.

Their awful performances in Tamba Bay and Kansas City are still etched in my mind, but there's no doubting that these past two wins have been excellent. As long as they're still in the race, they're still in it.

On another note, I might check out this Sunday's game to hopefully grab those "Cat and Dog" McFarlane action figures.

I was at work

If only the Jays played amazing teams every night

Yeah, it is very perplexing how we seem to play to the level of our opponents. Very frustrating I'll say....Good thing we face Texas next instead of a last place team!

Glad that we were able to take one from Colorado... I can't believe we gave up two against those losers.

You lose 2 to Colorado and expect to do what against the Astros? Win... not likely.

Best home record in MLB says otherwise

and (as Larry Dierker pointed out) best home record in the National League since 1999.

The only game you have a chance of winning is tomorrow nights. Pedro Martinez vs. Zeke Astacio... yeah, that's a fair matchup.

:lol

Zeke pulls out the best performance in the history of "Astros Astacios" and somehow manages a win tonight...(ok, that may be a stretch, if we win it'll be a 8-7 game or something)

I am embarassed at what I witnessed at Dodger Stadium tonight. :lol Freel stole 5 bases, would've been six if it wasnt for Griffey flying out when he had the base stolen already. If Depodesta cant find a defensive replacement catcher before the end of the trading deadline the Dodgers might aswell mail it in for the rest of the season. I'm actually amazed more teams dont do what the Reds have been doing the whole series, cause it will be a cold day in hell before were able to stop the opposing teams running game. :lol Cant wait for the Cards to roll in and really embarass this team, maybe then Depodesta will actually do something.

UGH....<Takes off Dodger Jersey>

if Depodesta could, he would trade LoDuca away again, so don't count on anything

alot of teams have devalued speed and so they don't have any decent base thieves, but the teams that do just crush the Dodgers hard, when Ross was catching I think Pujols stole 3 bases including 3rd on the front end of a double steal

I realize that a catcher with a better arm isnt going to solve the problem, It's just that when your catcher cant throw a guy out on a pitch out. Well....That's just ridiculous! :lol

<Crowd Chants> PITCH OUT! PITCH OUT! PITCH OUT! :lol :lol :lol

:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol

Sosa's a fucking PUSSY.

He tries to fucking DROP KICK Rod Barajas at the plate...gets thrown out by a MILE...then pussies out when Barajas is about to PUMMEL his ass for spiking him in the arm with his cleats. DON'T START NONE WON'T BE NONE!

:lol no, but Barajas looked PISSED until Sosa pussied out and started looking like he was about to get crushed by his momma.

National recognition for Bidge and Bags? What kind of strange world is this??

.
19. Craig Biggio
He has more than 2,700 hits and should reach 3,000, but he doesn't have to get to that magic number. This guy has done everything on the field: hit for average (four times over .300), hit for power (six times with 20-plus homers, twice with 50-plus doubles), steal bases (as many as 50 in one season), draw walks (.400 on-base percentage four times), score runs, win Gold Gloves, change positions, hustle (one year he grounded into zero double plays while playing every game), stay healthy … well, everything except clean his helmet.

20. Jeff Bagwell
The inside of Bagwell's shoulder is a bigger mess than a postgame spread under attack from David Wells and David Ortiz. It's even possible his career might be over. I fear the nonthinking man's response will be: "Bagwell didn't hit 500 home runs, he played in the Steroid Era, he choked in the playoffs and he had that crazy batting stance, so I'm not voting for him."

Let's do a quick comparison of Bagwell to the post-World War II first basemen who have made the Hall, along with one who will:

BAGWELL VS. THE WORLD
Player H R HR RBI AVG OBP SLG SB OPS OPS+
Bagwell 2311 1517 449 1525 .297 .408 .541 202 .949 150
McGwire 1626 1167 583 1414 .263 .394 .588 12 .982 163
Murray 3255 1627 504 1917 .287 .359 .476 110 .836 129
Perez 2732 1272 379 1652 .279 .341 .463 49 .804 122
Stargell 2232 1195 475 1540 .282 .360 .529 17 .889 147
McCovey 2211 1229 521 1555 .270 .374 .515 26 .889 148
Killebrew 2086 1283 573 1584 .256 .376 .509 19 .884 143
Cepeda 2351 1131 379 1365 .297 .350 .499 142 .849 133

Bagwell is the best player of the bunch. Only McGwire tops him in adjusted OPS; only Murray can come close as a fielder; and none is in the same league as Bagwell as a base runner. Bagwell's 152 runs scored in 2000 ranks as the most in one season since 1950. He was such an alert, aggressive runner, he once led the majors in frequency of going from first to third on singles. He put up monster numbers despite spending most of his career in the Astrodome. Add it all up, and the ESPN Baseball Encyclopedia ranks him as the 21st best player (not including pitchers) of all time, entering the 2005 season.

Now, that's my case for Bagwell's enshrinement … I think I've persuaded the jury.

Cubs got pounded by the Diamondbacks today. What a joke! This means we have to win the next 3 games! At least the Nats lost!

I wanted to see Barajas kill him.

Holy fuck what's in the water in the DC/Baltimore area? First Sosa then Guillen tries to take Chipper Jones out at 3rd base.

Hmm.. Manny's out of Boston once his contract ends. He'll definitely finish this season with Boston. 4 years in a row he's said this.

Bad idea to talk like that in such a close battle for the AL East. Especially after the troubles Boston's been having trying to stay at top with a broken rotation. Manram's ramming his team into the ground by saying this stuff--not cool at all...

But we all know his Manny'isms would be 1000 times funnier if they were made at Shea. God, we can only hope *tears*

By the way, Bernie Williams has a helluva shot at making the Hall. He better just keep his cool and stop yelling at his bat like has been this season.

Go Yanks, who's pitching tomorrow? Abraham Lincoln? Woo!

No he's not. Nobody on the club takes a thing he says seriously. Every single year there's a week where Manny goes off on one of his bizarre tangents of behavior. This is that week. In 2002 he asked to ber traded and then called Larry Lucchino saying he didn't want to be traded. In 2003 there was the whole "Manny seen at hotel hanging with Enrique Wilson when he was supposed to be out ill" story. Last year there was the one week stretch out of the west coast where Manny disappeared form the lineup for like 4 straight games for no apparent reason. Once the trade deadline passes and Manny is still on the Red Sox, everyone will forget about this nonsense. The Red Sox aren't going to trade him in the middle of a pennant race because there is no way they will get equal value. They'll probably shop him again in the offseason though. We'll do a deal with the Mets in the offseason if it nets David Wright and Pedro. :D

God damn the Boobirds were out for Bootran. He grounds into a routine double play...except Mike Lamb boots it. Bases loaded with no outs and Mets only manage 1. Go Zeke.

Holy moly we beat Pedro. WTF.
Zeke with a 6IP 2R performance. BRAD FRIGGIN AUSMUS with the walkoff RBI single. WOO!

Astros TIED FOR THE MOTHERFUCKING WILDCARD! SUCK IT NATS!
