Owning the Stros again as usual. Stupid Cardinals.

Cubs have a winning record against the Stros and Cards this year. But can't beat the crap teams. How sad. Playing to the level of the competition.
 
God dammit, lose on a play at the plate...oh well, Willy would have made it :(
Magic # still 2 with 6 games remaining for the Astros/Phillies. Any combo of 2 Astros wins and Phillies Losses and we're good to go. woot!

Yanks 3 - Red Sox 0 = Yankees AL East champs
Yanks 2 - Red Sox 1 = Yankees AL East champs
Yanks 1 - Red Sox 2 = 1 Game Playoff at Yankee Stadium
Yanks 0 - Red Sox 3 = Red Sox AL East champs

Gonna be some great games this week.

I don't know which is more unlikely, the Phillies winning all 3, or the Astros losing 2 of the 3...

That's going to be tough for them to do, seeing as how the Red Sox are going to win the next three games to finish the season.

Anyone seen Cubsfan lately? he hasn't posted in this thread today for some reason. I can't think of the reason why.

Well... Giants season is over. This sucks. well not really, i've went to two games since barry's been back, and he hit it out in both. Incredible. Hope he comes back next year, I can see their outfield being very good. Barry Bonds, Randy Winn, and Moises Alou.

They just need a new third baseman; their infield defense is incredible though. Ah well, don't know who to root for anymore :(

Honestly, I'd love nothing else than to knock cleveland out of the play-offs...but I see us laying down for 'em.
None of our starters will go past 6 innings, we're gonna use our recent call-ups and Vizcaino out of our bullpen, gonna rest a lot of starters....

Plus:

The White Sox close the regular season with three games at Cleveland.

What does the series mean?

mother bastards. if cleveland sweeps or at least wins the series the loser of the yanks/sox might not make playoffs. ALL BECAUSE OF FUCKING TORONTO.

See, this is why I like you, Joe. Why you are a Yankees fan, you want both in the playoffs, because that means more Yankees/Red Sox baseball! The best fucking kind!
 
sorry to burst your bubble but im scared the yanks get swept and dont make the playoffs :D

i want boston as far away from the playoffs as possible. :lol

i guess deep down inside i'd like another yankees/sox series but im not sure i can handle it. theyre just so evenly matched you never know which way its gonna go, it makes me sick thinking about it.
 
So what happens if the Red Sox, Indians, and Yankees finish the season with the same record? I think this is highly likely. Boston will win 2 of 3 against the Yankees and Cleveland will win 2 of 3 against the White Sox. That would put all 3 teams at 95-67. Do the Red Sox and Yankees play a playoff game first for the division and then the loser plays Cleveland for the wild card?!

You got it. I imagine the games will be played on Monday and Tuesday respectively. That leaves no off day for the WC team.

And Deku, that article is nonsense. Derek Lowe pitched like a worthless sack of shit all year, and once he got into those big games he somehow remembered how to get outs. Anyone can win in October... except the Padres.
