Yes, thats all he did. Thats exactly it, oh how right you are. I now see the light, if i'm the miam owner i'd shoot riley in the head and install marino in there.

I see it now, the award should go to the bulls GM for signing boozer to a contender.

Or Kahn for NOT getting turner. Because, thats how we judge GM's, right, on their drafting?

Or maybe it should go to donnie for making the resurgent knicks live or die by amare.
I like how you mention that its by drafting that we judge GM's (as gaf likes to say "straw man") and then include 2 GM's by merit of moves in the offseason.

I like how you haven't added anything to the discussion apart bitchy snide remarks, its like conversing with a 13yo girl.

We don't get gortat & Pietrus if we don't have turk.

That reminds me, what did you think of the trade as a whole? I thought it was fantastic and pretty much fapped all night when I heard of it.

- No more Turk
- Finally obtained Gortat (I've wanted him since 08)
- Improved defense and especially, rebounding
- Have trade pieces to obtain a PF (if only there was one available)
- Cap flexibility and relief plus draft picks = positive outlook for future

Sucks losing Richardson but we knew he wouldn' t be here anyway. I'll still pretend in my head that we will snatch him back up after the season.

The sites that gave the suns a grade of B for the trade are about spot on. Vince is a former shell of him self, but it should be fun to see him along side nash for a while, and he's an expiring next year (it actually gets fun with the trades with him though, because he's technically on the books, you can trade him for his non-guranteed salary rate, so a max player).

People who thought turk was playing at his toronto level in phx, are just wrong. The guy was really trying here. He just didn't fit. And he could never fill that 4 spot reliably, it wasn't so bad when lopez was starting, but when he went down injured, it was a farce.

Gortat's good, and should be interesting to see what he can do. He was so happy in the presser. I don't know about pietrus, pietrus looked depressed as shit in the presser. Hopefully he breaks out of that funk and brings it, because i like him as a player.

So they basically traded expiring contracts with Orlando, and turned turk inot gortat and pietrus. Orland won in the vince/j-rich part, suns probably won the second half, and all the while didn't break up their cap releif next year.

You're confusing statement for championship. I'm not saying this is the only statement game either but if you can't admit that your first match against the media fueled hype machine, super power assemblance force expected to wing rings (not talking about GAF) isn't a statment game, well then you're already creating an excuse for your team. The players know what this game is and to not show up is inexcusable. They should have plenty of motivation, especially with Kobe's 'killer instinct' I don't care if it is an December game.

I'm sure the Lakers will take it seriously, I just find it silly that Lakers-age is all 'lolz december game' when you guys know it's bigger than that. I understand it being downplayed though as the Heat haven't quite lived up to expectations (lol media) despite the 12 game streak they had managed.

Since day one I have and many others of Lakers-Age have been consistent in not getting all hyped for any one individual game during the regular season. Why? Because its just that, the regular season. A game against the Kings isn't worth more wins than one against the Heat or Celtics. We know the quality of our team when it counts so why should we get all hyped up during the regular season? Thats for the 'fans' of teams who haven't been there, like the Heat. Let them get hyped and think of the game as a championship quality match.

I think Lakers fans learned after last year that for this cast of players- who many say is deeper and better than last years team- its all about the playoffs. If Heat-Age (lol) want to have an orgasm during the lead up to Christmas day, let 'em. Win or lose, wake me up when April arrives.

I think Heat age has been pretty consistent in just saying that this game with the Lakers, as with the Mavs game, is just important because its something of a metric for improvement since the beginning of the season. Thats pretty much it. No one's really made crazy predictions about the game, nor have I seen people orgasming over it. I do think people ARE allowed to be excited though, because its a nice matchup. Way more fun and interesting than watching Heat-Warriors or Heat-Sixers (sorry warriors/sixers age). Its the same reason we were excited for the Knicks game and the Mavs game, and even the Suns game tom

Yea, I know, I'm just giving Heat-age a difficult time. It should be a good match-up but at the end of the day, its just one game. Win or lose. But for someone who I recall (maybe it was another member of Suns-age) predicted a Suns sweep vs the Lakers in the playoffs last year, I'm not surprised he is trying to build it up.

No worries, its kinda par for the course around here.

Vince is merely part of the trade pieces or cap relief I mentioned. If we get him healed up, I think he'll be far better in our system than in Orlando. I'm not too worried about him because he won't be here much longer regardless.

I agree on Turk but it's still a fact that his contract is absurd and ties our hands when making future deals and he just didn't fit in our system. He was killing Dragic's production and wasn't producing much himself. He'll play much better in Orlando's system.

I think peaches will thrive in our system if he gets the minutes. I'm just praying he is motivated to play D. He'll be huge for us if he does.

You and I would go back and forth but I never said the Suns would sweep the Lakers! Certainly not seriously. I think it was the user that has Dudley as his avatar. Begins with a J..Jarxl? something like that.

Edit: I think it was actually Giri in jest and Jarxl? Was the one considering an avatar bet on something...maybe winning the series?

That shit might be 2000 all over again, though I think Wall might be better than Kenyon Martin. Still beyond that it's garbage. Turner sucking still blows my mind. I thought that guy was the next Grant Hill.

This upcoming draft is supposed to be worse? I don't really watch college so I'm not up on the players.

Pietrus is a good defender but he's dumb as hell, expect him to make a lot of stupid fouls. Also he's basically James Jones 2.0 on offense, he should do nicely on the Suns.

Brown Steps Down As Bobcats Coach

RealGM said:
Larry Brown is no longer the head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats.

Charlotte owner Michael Jordan said in a release Wednesday that in a mutual decision after Charlotte's disappointing 9-19 start that Brown has stepped down as coach.

Brown, 70, was in his third season as the team's coach.

No successor was immediately named and Jordan said a search would begin immediately.

The Bobcats do not play again until Monday.

Where the hell is DY? :lol :lol

Suns released Earl Barron?

someone please inform Donnie to re-sign him.

Phil Jackson Dislikes Expanded Christmas Day Schedule

Ever since he became an old man who's had hip replacement surgery and decided he'd rather just sit at home until the playoffs begin if he could?

He used to try and get out of coaching the All-Star game when he was much healthier. What makes you think he wants to wake up early and go to work on Christmas Day?

Can't say I blame him.

Gotta agree with Phil too about the Christians being made to entertain the masses at the orders of an evil, psychotic
and possibly pagan
, ruler. It's the Coliseum and lions all over again.

And that, Brandy and gentlemen, is the reason the Lakers are in cruise control and just don't give a fuck right now.

Where's Dy you ask. Hookers and blow must be involved somehow.

Cousins has way more upside than Z-Bo since he's a legit 7'0 with a huge wingspan. I still think Favors and Cousins can be top 5 centers in the NBA with the right coaching. Favors really needs to learn how to stay on the court and quit fouling though.

Wiz/Bulls game is going to be full of lols at this pace. I hope you like watching jump shots, bulls don't know what the paint is.

Which is why it doesn't matter if they don't win. I'm merely speaking of whether they show up or not. So they shouldn't play hard against Boston in the regular season either? If every good team thought "meh, I'll only get out of bed for the games that actually matter" this sport would be complete garbage.

We hate Boston though. We always get up for those games.

And funny enough, the statement you made applies to most teams in the league. They get up for some regular season games, but the season is long, so you don't get the same effort every night.

Shit, Vince Carter has made a career out of this for a few years.

But we'll see. I would not be surprised either way.

Edit: I think it was actually Giri in jest and Jarxl? Was the one considering an avatar bet on something...maybe winning the series?

He joked all through the series, and was treated accordingly.

Shit, I might watch G6 tonight.

Its fucking terrible right. Part of why the discrepancy between the good and bad teams this year is so large. Sucks most for teams (like the Clippers) who need to stock up on young talent as quick as possible to coincide with their core's development...

Favors' body is exactly the same as Dwight's: He has a frame that looks limitless, he'll be insanely huge by the time he's 21. Cousins is already 7'0, 290lbs with a 7'6 wingspan. Cousins is a center and Favors will end up as one. Dwight entered the league as a PF...
