Let's not also forget that the pace was much faster in the 80s, which inflates Magic's stats well beyond what they would be now.
And that has nothing to do with the fact that Magic was the one pushing the pace for the Lakers? Or the fact that Lebron is a one-dimensional isolation player that takes way too long to score a bucket?

Accusations of trolling seems to be the new de-facto response when someone on the internet can't counter a reasonable argument.
That whole paragraph is unreasonable though. What logic can counter such an argument?

Don't forget, that Magic stepped up and played the center position in the Finals. If Bron can do everything Magic could, but better, why is he afraid to turn his back to the basket? Where's his hook shot? Post game?

Dude. Stop.

Can you hand check Lebron? No.
Could you get to the line as easily back then? No.
Was the league as diluted as it is today? No.
Was every pass within the last 10 seconds considered an assist? No.

Stats are far more inflated today than they've ever been.

1) In what way does Miami play better with Bosh? He doesn't rebound or defend nearly as well as Haslem, no one will debate that, and his offense, although much better, has been reduced to barely more than that of Big Z in Cleveland. He is easily a better scorer, but is he going to be asked to do that with Wade and Lebron? No. And even when both Wade and Lebron are off the court, Bosh isn't able to maintain the pace alone. Even against shitty teams.

2) :lol

Numbers don't matter. Empirical evidence is completely worthless! One guy is more valuable than the other simply because he's viewed as tough while the other is not. Really, your arguments couldn't possibly get any lazier from an intellectual standpoint.

Srsly, have you ever noticed that each time you post, everyone responds by dropping whatever we're talking about to just laugh at you instead?

you're playing great basketball right now. your play is doing the talking, why are you continuing to be an honest and insecure person? -_-

i have faith that in time wade and riley will turn him into a real man

The first thing i thought of when Lebron joined the Heat

How come players' stats didn't suddenly shoot up when hand-checking was eliminated? If anything, allowing zone defense has more than counteracted any advantage offensive players received through the elimination of hand-checking.

Also, let's not forget how Magic wilted in the playoffs while LeBron has carried his team to chip after chip.

Remember when LeBron won a chip in his rookie season playing Center while the best big man in the league was on the shelf?

Do you know who Mark Landsberger is?

Neither do I but he's a champion because of the efforts of Magic Johnson in 1980.

Oh god, where is this thread going?:lol

And DY, Bosh and Haslem are actually almost identical rebounders statistically. Don't know how you get that Haslem is a way better rebounder than Bosh.

Remember the post where I pointed out that Magic played on a stacked team from the get-go? Have you yet to realize that this is Bron's first stacked team?

Yes, LeBron is better than Magic ever was. LeBron can do everything Magic could, is a much better defender and finisher, and actually has a decent shot -- something Magic didn't acquire until the tail end of his career. Magic had the luxury of joining arguably the best center of all-time his rookie year and consistently playing with a team stacked all the way down the line-up.

It hasn't helped out team stats so much, but for superstars it's done wonders. Don't tell me that Lebron is being bugged by zone defense now...

"Leave Lebron alone! It wasn't his fault!"

Who was that 1979-80 team stacked with?

This will be good.

Um, really?

Best center of all-time, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Future DPoTY and multiple all-defensive team member, Michael Cooper.

Spencer Haywood, the player for which the term PF was coined.

Jamal Wilkes, 74-75 RoTY

And let's not forget Norm Nixon, top 10 in assists for multiple years WITH Magic Johnson on his team and 83-84 league leader in assists.

To be fair, The Captain for most of the playoffs and Jamal Wilkes is probably better than anything Lebron's had before this year. I wouldn't say they were stacked though.

Haslem has been a better rebounder than Bosh for years. He's never had a game where he's played more than 23 minutes and come out with 1 rebound. Bosh has had two such games this season.

Edit: found one... against Memphis back in the 06-07 season. Had to dig...

Al Jefferson thinks that's hilarious.

You're retarded if you cherry pick for specific games to support your argument

Bosh has never been the best pf at anything. Dirk, Duncan and Amare are better face up 4's than bosh.

Amare isn't even in the conversation. He's a different version of Bargnani with worse defense.

Kareem...what was his statline in the series clinching game?

Future DPoTY and multiple all-defensive team member, Michael Cooper.

:lol :lol :lol Was he DPoY in his 2nd year?

Spencer Haywood, the player for which the term PF was coined.

Which would be awesome if he averaged more than 7.4 points during the playoffs that year. You should have gone with Norm Nixon as your choice...

Jamal Wilkes, 74-75 RoTY

Sure, I'll give you Silk...he was certainly instrumental in their win in the Finals that year.

In that Final game, it was basically Magic and Wilkes vs. the Sixers.

Shaq got fined :lol

You've got your hands full with the rest of the NBA-age right now. Don't worry about me and pete.

Next on the troll list... Lebron: why doesn't he make his teammates better?

We're never gonna agree on the Haslem and Bosh rebounding argument (I think that they're more similar than one might perceive them to be, but its easy to fall into thinking that Haslem is obviously superior simply because he is such an outward hustle guy). As for your Lebron making other people better, I would definitely agree with you that he doesn't do much to make other players better outside of making 1 or 2 super flashy assists a game, but I would disagree with you that he makes other players worse.

Avery Johnson responded to LeBron James' controversial comments about contraction by saying the league might be better of without a team like the Miami Heat.

James said Thursday that he'd like to return to the days when teams had three or four stars and that contracting the likes of the Nets and Wolves might be a good start to achieving that.

"I disagree," Johnson told reporters. "Maybe the league would be better if we didn't have three stars on one team."

LeBron defended his comments on Monday, saying he never suggested the NBA eliminate teams and that he wasn't sure what the word "contraction" even meant.

Even Avery Johnson can troll Lebron.

Cherry picking games?

It was the biggest game of Magic's career (he was a fucking rookie!) up until that point and he took the game over.

Best player on the roster is out?

No problem--he went hard and played amazing...might I add for a Head Coach he didn't particularly like.

LeBron made a cameo appearance at the Finals...we think.

Yes, it is cherry picking. You simply cannot come to any sort of conclusion based on a sample size of 1 (such as Magic being better than LeBron or vice versa). I'm sorry that you're ignorant of stats.

You need to shut the fuck up. Really. Lebron isn't the best SF to ever play the game much less being better than Magic.

You are either trolling (horribly) or a moron.

It matters because this wasn't some 48 point that ultimately became a meaningless game. It was a TITLE CLINCHING GAME. In the Finals, on the biggest stage, without the best player, Magic got it done.

LeBron got SWEPT dude.

He has been knocked out every year he has played.

And before you bu-bu-but he had no help..Hakeem was surrounded by role players. No legit superstar along side him and he won.

Twice.

LeBron hasn't won a single Finals game as "the man".
