Are you joking? Wade, Rondo and Rose are definitely in. Allen and Wall (though I doubt wall makes it since rose didn't in his first year) have a chance. Nelson has no chance based on his stats. bobcats are terrible right now so Jackson hasa no chance. Joe Johnson has been terrible this season and definitely has no chance.reilo said:So, which guys does Felton jump to make the ASG?
Allen
Wade
Rose
Rondo
Nelson
Wall
Johnson
Jackson
Like I said earlier... Felton has a good shot if the Knicks remain at .500.reilo said:So, which guys does Felton jump to make the ASG?
Allen- Didn't even get in last year.
Wade
Rose
Rondo
Nelson- He gets in one year and for some reason people expect him to be a regular? That was his only shot.
Wall- Rookies don't get into the ASG anymore.
Johnson- He has been playing like shit, where have you been?
Jackson- Plays for the Kitties and isn't even the best guard on his own team. Plus, DAT attitude problem.
Remind me again of the rule that says there have to be 4 PGs selected to attend the All Star Game?Gabyskra said:Knicks are 11th in the league in shot attempts per game.
Sure there are 5 better guards in the East. But not 3 better PGs THIS SEASON.
Nelson has no chance? 15PPG/7APG/49FG% in 29.9MPG means he has no chance? He's made the ASG with less! Joe Johnson has no chance? You think Joe fucking Johnson will stay at his current pace? Come on bro!charsace said:Are you joking? Wade, Rondo and Rose are definitely in. Allen and Wall (though I doubt wall makes it since rose didn't in his first year) have a chance. Donatas Motiejunas has established himself as one of the top big men scorers in Europe this year.
After somewhat surprisingly electing not to enter his name in the 2010 NBA draft, Motiejunas has taken Italy by storm in his second season with Benetton Treviso. He currently ranks as the 2nd best per-minute scorer in the Italian Lega A, and is doing so in spectacularly efficient fashion, shooting 66% from 2-point range and 46% from behind the arc.
Motiejunas unfortunately still struggles with the two very important areas that were pinpointed early on in his career as being major weaknesses: defense and rebounding. His defensive rebounding numbers have actually gotten worse this season, now down to a paltry 3.2 per-40 minutes, which ranks him dead last in the entire Italian league amongst both power forwards and centers.
No he didn't. Nelson made the all star game putting up 17 and 8 with like 40% from 3 before he got hurt that year. I remember because Mo Williams was shooting similar to him that year.reilo said:Nelson has no chance? 15PPG/7APG/49FG% in 29.9MPG means he has no chance? He's made the ASG with less! Where have you been. Joe Johnson is out 4 to 6 weeks. Unless he gets voted in, his chances are unlikely.reilo said:Joe Johnson has no chance? You think Joe fucking Johnson will stay at his current pace? Come on bro!
It took a couple of miracles and some gift-wrapping for Mo Williams to make it in on a 60-win team playing next to Lebron, and Felton is more of a sure-fire thing?

Jameer Nelson finished the season averaging 16.7PPG and 5.4APG. He didn't have a single month where he averaged 6APG or more. I'd argue that he's having his best year yet -- statistically at least.charsace said:No he didn't. Nelson made the all star game putting up 17 and 8 with like 40% from 3 before he got hurt that year. Joe Johnson is playing terrible this season and his going to miss a month due to surgery. He would have to go on a tear to make it.
He should be back in time to get in plenty of games before the reserve voting is tallied.ollin said:Where have you been. Joe Johnson is out 4 to 6 weeks. Unless he gets voted in, his chances are unlikely.
Considering that the only chance Felton will get in is through the coach's votes? Yeah, I'm sure as they're looking through their guard selection list, the one name that will stand out for them is Raymond Felton.Sharp said:reilo, I have nothing invested in Felton becoming an All Star, nor do I think it's guaranteed, but wouldn't you say a pretty good PG on a .500 team in a huge market like NY with good numbers would have at least as good a chance as an injured one in one of the worst sports cities in the world who was playing like crap for much of the season pre-ASG?

That quote should be a huge red flag to anybody still thinking the team has a chance in New Orleans.NBA commissioner David Stern announced on Monday that the league will proceed with the purchase of the New Orleans Hornets following Gary Chouest's decision not to acquire the interest of majority owner George Shinn. The league's takeover of the franchise is subject to the NBA Board of Governors' approval, which will likely come next week.
"George Shinn has been an exceptional owner for New Orleans and Gary Chouest has been extraordinarily supportive as a minority owner," Stern said in a statement released by the NBA. "However, in light of the uncertain economic situation in New Orleans and Louisiana, Gary has decided not to move forward with the purchase of George's majority interest although he was prepared to remain an investor in the team. In the absence of any viable purchaser seeking to own the Hornets in New Orleans, I recommended to the NBA Board of Governors that the best way to assure stability and the adequate funding of the franchise would be for the league to step in, and complete the transaction and assume control.

charsace said:The bottom line with these guys is that they hate that the knicks have had a bigger following than their teams even when their teams were doing better. During this decade some of you have gotten hyped draft picks and had Chris Bosh's, but the knicks still had a bigger following. The knicks have a lot of true fans and this just bothers you guys.
charsace said:So would you guys prefer it if we made a knicks discussion thread so that we can discuss the knicks since we are a bunch of assholes and you don't want to read about the knicks? You don't like knicks fans posting about the knicks in the NBA thread so might as well let us post our own thread.

And even then he's a liability on defense.
Knicks wouldn't have been any worse off re-signing Lee.
reilo said:To reiterate, the Suns in their prime had four All-NBA level players on their team (Nash, Johnson, Marion, Amare) in their prime and couldn't get to the finals.
How many other teams had a team that stacked? Boston? Lakers sure as hell didn't. Nobody is going to give Odom, Bynum, and Artest any All-NBA love today. Spurs? Not even them.
But nope, Felton and an aging Amare are the core to build around.
lol, thischarsace said:I've seen Marion play. He isn't as athletic as he used to be, but he knows how to move with out the ball, still scores around the basket, can still knock down the midrange and still has great rebounding instincts. He could be a 15 and 10 player if he was playing starter minutes.
Branduil said:Everything past 10 feet out is a complete crapshoot with Marion. His eFG% is 73% on inside shots, 33% on outside shots.

I'm sure Stern prefers that, and he's all powerful, but he'd have to be a hell of a salesman to get somebody to sign on to keep the team where there's little fan support and they're going to lose a bunch of money.thekad said:I think if Stern wanted the Hornets to move, they wouldn't have bought the team. Re-read my comment. It was specific to having number of players with All-NBA credentials in their prime playing together at the same time. I didn't say the Lakers nor Celtics were stacked. I said they didn't have four All-NBA players in their prime playing together. Which is true. Especially about the Celtics due to where their best players are in their career. I'm not saying they weren't stacked nor talented, just that their best players on their team weren't all put together during each and every one of their primes. That's the difference.giri said:Did all those guys play a full season together, ever? Those suns teams were ravaged with injuries. I think probably the only season they had together was probably amare`s rookie season?
There are plenty of stacked teams. But you're right, the celtics with all stars, ray allen, rajon rondo, paul pierce and kevin garnett aren't stacked either. Nor the lakers with (healthy) bynum, gasol, artest, kobe. Nope, not stacked either. What a silly comment. And any of those guys could make an all nba team, either all nba, or all defensive.
And then they ran into Spurs that put the breaks on some dynasty like laker teams also. Lets not try and re-write history here, that suns team ran into some historically strong teams in the mid 00's.
Just go back to the u23 lineup, it was much more entertaining.Adam Blade said:Anyone want a slightly used Chris Kaman? 11/7 on decentFG, only injured half a season each year, and with only 2 years left on his contract.36%
