Seattle still owns the name and history of the Sonics, yeah?

It's not gonna happen unless Seattle changes its stance on funding an arena and does a whole lot of ass kissing. They're also probably not going to move a team anywhere without a private owner first being in place there.

Stern's said that his biggest mistake was moving the Grizzlies out of Vancouver, that might be a more likely destination in the Northwest.

Reminds me of the Spurs game, after that we won those 7 games so hopefully its the same situation.

You would hope, but it troubles me we couldn't maintain 48 minutes of focus for two of the best teams in the West.

contract years, how do they work?

Yep. This guy is 3 years of 3 piece suit time waiting to happen. He's gonna get a phat deal and he can't even pass a physical. Still, it might have made more sense to just ride out the contract year and take advantage of it rather than trade him for...I don't even remember what the Bobs got for him.

Seriously. People need to stop giving him so much props until he's doing this shit when his ass is no longer on the line.

Contract year players are the bane of the NBA.

We got rid of Okafor for him. That contract would've crippled us - I'm happy to just be back where we started... #1 fan Matt Carroll and some other bums taking up cap space doesn't even bother me anymore.

Matt Carroll, Eduardo Najera, and Erick Dampier.

Sure, as long as he only required to shit on guys like DeMarcus Nephews, he would be alright.

And yes, he did murder DAT ROTY DMC in the 4th, SamuraiX.

Didn't really matter considering this game was 36 minutes of garbage time.

Let me know when he shows up when it counts for something.

And Cousins winning the ROTY would be a crime against B-Griff. DMC has so fucking much to learn. GLAD WE HAVE A VETERAN BIG HERE TO TEACH HIMOWAIT

At first I was hyped to see if the Dust Chip would land us something nice. Then I saw that Larry had checked out in pre-season. I don't blame MJ at all for throwing his hand in on that one.

Matt Carroll AKA "Hammer" is a fan favorite (somehow) and Najera is Mr. Wonderful in the community so I can't really complain. All we need now is some dead and/or underage strippers to pile up in Larry Brown's office and the year will be a success.

Oi you got Slammin Sammy Dalembert.

and you gave us Hawes so shut the fuck up.

I don't care how shitty Sammy has been for yo u( told ya so) but Hawes is a crime against humanity.

I like Dalembert, but I had no idea the guy was 100% defense and -200% offense.

He's shooting a career low 38.5% from the field to start the season.

And yeah, enjoy Hawes. Honestly, I liked him, but this team would get no where
fuck you to whoever cracks a joke
with him as the #1 or #2 option.

Two billion in MS stock, he would probably build the arena himself, buy a team, and still have a pool of cash to go diving in.

"We got a lift from Cook in the fourth quarter," Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro said. "We weren't sharp offensively even though we scored over 100 points. It's hard when you give up 59 free throws."

"It was tough," Griffin said. "How many free throws did they shoot? That says it all right now. I won't say any more."

Che.

"I experienced Denver playing at home, at its finest," said Clippers rookie Blake Griffin , at his laconic best. "It's tough, man. How many free throws did they shoot?"

Reporters, in unison: "Fifty-nine."

Chris Kaman , who played in his first game in more than three weeks because of a sprained left ankle, had more disheartening information for Griffin.

Kaman: "To our 29."

Griffin: "You know, that says it all right there. Fifty-nine to 29."

Kaman: "What about Carmelo (Anthony) not having any fouls till..."

Griffin: "Whatever. I'm not going to say anything."

it was lackluster effort in the second half for us, and Dallas came to play... I am not taking too much from the loss except that they had an off night.. One loss in a long season. wake me up if we lose 3 or 4 in a row.

Also I really want an angry Blake Griffin in the league. That would be good times.

Coach Mike D'Antoni is getting into the groove. Last night, D'Antoni took a gamble with former 15th man Shawne Williams, who delivered 21 clutch minutes, scoring 13 points. He made three of four 3-pointers, including a monster trey in the fourth quarter that put the Knicks up 12 with 9:15 left and all but sealed it. Williams also had four rebounds.

D'Antoni lobbied to keep the smooth-as-silk Williams over Patrick Ewing Jr. at the end of training camp and, suddenly, Williams has solidified a rotation spot after making his Knicks debut last Sunday.

Williams, some coaches believe, is their best 3-point shooter.

"I should've done it [put him in the lineup] a few month ago," D'Antoni said. "I got up the courage [this week]."

How is a 3 that puts you up 12 with 9 minutes to go a 'monster shot' that 'all but seals it'?
:lol
Incompetent Post writer should said the eight 2nd quarter poijnts he had which kept the Knicks from being blown out early. NY Post is a rag, never forget.

Don't be shocked. It take courage/balls to insert a former cast off/bust ahead of what was to be believe a budding phenom in Randolph and Bill Walker. If i were a coach i would be iffy too.

I'm sure in practice he has always been lighting it up, but sometimes politics play a role.

I like two things:

1. He didn't get his team in trouble during the game by becoming visibly upset and getting a T (nor did the rest of the Clippers, for which I give them props, because I've seen a ton of teams melt down over far less), and
2. He is clearly really pissed off, which means he actually cares.

Way too many players seem totally disinterested in the results of the games.

Edit: 59 free throw attempts is not just the highest of this season... it's the highest since New York got 63 in 2006.

It’s easy enough to accidentally make a private message public, especially when you’re dealing with big fingers and a tiny phone.

But if a Blackberry mishap leads to you accidentally posting photos of your penis to your Twitter followers, at least have the good grace not to pretend your account was ‘hacked

Unfortunately, that’s exactly what Rasual Butler did when he sent out junk shots yesterday on Twitter.

Nobody in Vancouver remembers the Grizzlies.

CSNBullsInsider Sheed shows up during Thibs' post presser. Interrupts Thibs with "I need a job," then pokes head into Bulls locker room to yell "Scalabrine"

Honestly, I'd take Sheed if he was serious. Bulls need a big body to bang with the Howards/Oneals/Bynum's of the league, otherwise they're going to get destroyed down low. He's bigger and better on his feet than Asik for sure.

Crazy stat of the week: The Bulls have been down 12pts at some point during their last 9 games. Wtf is that? Rose seemed exhausted the last two games, and who can blame him when the team depends on him as much as they do. He expends a crazy amount of energy nightly. The last two nights were less than normal for him.

I honestly thing the Bulls should just make a big move. They're not competing with the Magic/Celtics as is. While I'm not necessarily saying Noah for Melo (about ready to do it if they toss back a big body), I would start seeing what it costs to get Stephen Jackson. He could bring character problems, but the team wouldn't be hurt with another tough guy in the locker room. He might gel really with w Noah. You probably give up Taj Gibson for him and some 1st rounders, but I think MJ still has love for the Bulls and would do the trade. Might take a little while though, until the Bobcats season's definitely done. (which in the East, means trade deadline MAYBE)

The other option being tossed around is Mayo (not really a fan) and Crawford, but with Joe Johnson injured now the Hawks need him more than ever. Either way, the team needs to make a move. There's something horribly inconsistent about the team, and the SG spot is one of the glaring holes. Trading Hinrich really hurts at times like these.

Wondering what's the deal with the hate for Vince Carter this season.

He seems to be playing a lot better than his first season with Orlando. His rebounding and assists are down, but his shooting percentages (besides FT) are all higher than his career averages.

But for $17 mil a season? Definitely no. Who else would the Magic pick up to replace him once his contract is up?

J-Rich on the Magic would be crazy.
