You aren't going to convince anyone. They need a team to hate. Kobe being a rapist and the Lakers being bullies isn't exciting anymore. Let them have it, I would never begrudge them their right to hate a team. It feels good when you see a team you hate get beaten, its important for them to have that. I used to hate the Jazz, Lakers, and Bulls for those very reasons. If I had time to follow the NBA as closely as I used to I still would probably. So while I will roll my eyes and call out their bullshit on occasion, I not only accept that they will continue to hate the heat, I don't hold it against them either. I would still give them a ride to the liquor store if they asked.
