Dude that was the height of my love for the NBA- hardaway, mourning, dan majerle.... those years were the shit, even though the knicks pretty much owned us in the playoffs

That's a fantastic excuse.

It is. People aren't always born with a basketball attached to their nutsack. Some people come to sports at a later age. I never watched a single American Football game until a few years ago. Living overseas reduced my sport exposure to soccer and basketball. I could never claim to be a lifelong fan of any NFL team because I never even saw a game being played until I was in college.
Instead of belittling people who decide to jump in and follow a sport or team we should encourage more people to support basketball, regardless of who they back. I still dream of it returning to a MJ, Bird, Magic etc... era level of popularity. I would love that.

Its fine that you weren't into basketball until recently.

But don't start calling yourself a fan then. And definitely don't start acting like you know what you are talking about.

In all seriousness shouldn't Ryutaru be more made at Dan Gilbert right now? He owns the team and did a terrible job firing the coach and GM before Lebron even made a decision.

Would any good FAs have signed for the Cavs if Lebron didn't make a firm commitment to stay? And you are crazy to say that Lebron doesn't have any good skill sets. He has good vision, able to handle the ball, can penetrate to the lane, can hit mid range jumpers from time to time, also is good on D, and can rebound.
First off, Mike Brown was fired for being an idiot. If you think that Mike Brown didn't deserve to be fired, you've either a) never watched Cleveland play outside of ESPN highlight or b) you just don't know anything about basketball.

And yes, Cleveland was a contending team that had locked up HCA two years in a row with Lebron there - they were bringing in new guys to help that team every year. Shit town or not, guys wanted to come in for shot at winning a ring. A year before, they tried to land Ariza - couldn't work because Lebron wouldn't commit. Guys weren't eager to get traded their because Lebron couldn't guarantee them anything. Tom Izzo could be Cleveland's coach right now, but Lebron couldn't give him a straight answer either. The only reason Byron is there is because he just wanted a job again.

And I did not say that Lebron does not have great innate abilities and instincts for basketball, I said that he lacks of a developed skill game - please tell me why a guy Lebron's size has a post game that is inferior to Ben Wallace's

they're not joking, which is ridiculous- I'm a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge dolphin fan, and I rarely post in the NFL thread. In fact, i think I only started posting there 2 years ago.

The Dolphins are my favorite team, and I rarely post anything except for on FinHeaven.com. But that forum is so badly managed that it's an eyesore. So although it's the largest Dolphins community, it's also full of dumb threads.

Who am I? I'm the Crimson motherfucking Blur. I can say whatever I want.

Dude he likes a dozen teams at once. Literally calls himself a fan of all those teams. Hes not a fan. Its belittling to everyone else to call him one.

Why shouldn't people who haven't been into basketball for a long time be allowed to participate in talking about the sport? That's the dumbest fucking thing I have read yet on here. I have watched and played basketball for 20 years, and I have no problem with someone who started watching yesterday wanting to jump into the conversation.

Seriously dude, you need more attention at home or something cause you are one ornery motherfucker.

No, siddix's excuse on your behalf fell apart.

I'm not trying to speak on his behalf, he is a grown ass man and judging by his posts outside of this thread, is more than able to defend himself. I was pointing out what I feel is a foolish tendency to assume that someone who just started to support a team is band wagoner.

Such great but not so great memories. Those series' were incredible. I would love for that rivalry to begin again.

Can I say that about 19 year old basketball "fans"?

The Lakers have been absolutely comical in the 4'th quarter this season.

If we lose this game the Clips will have started a winning streak against our team. The god damn clippers.

Man I remember those days. Glued to the T.V. Going to the games and screaming "fuck you Juwan Howard" when the bullets were in town. Now he's in Miami! >.<

Loosing in the Eastern Conference Finals was the worst thing for me as a kid. That and the rape the Dolphins were handed by the Jags in 1999. Mark Royals 12 yard punt in NE to loose the game and keep up out of the playoffs with 8 pro-bowlers was also a low for me in Miami. :(

A-Rod left our high school for his junior year to another school that offered more "perks". Once our school was considered one of the most prestigious in the Florida sports world, he wanted to associate himself with it although he never stayed for 4 years.
Are you really that ignorant to how high school sports works for highly recruited athletes that go on to become big name pros? I don't want to believe so... Just gonna ignore this. (Get over it)
You'll have no argument from me there. But if you think about it, his prime-time "decision" raised millions for the boys and girls club. That being said, it was mishandled to the point of unprofessional. But nonetheless, it's just a business. Much the same as when a player is escorted off the premises once he is traded or released from a team. It's not personal.
Yes. I'm sure he didn't make millions on the side with his deal with ESPN that he made either. Nor did he rake in cash for plugging Vitamin Water and University of Phoenix at the same time. He did it for the kids.

This is why people are thinking you're willfully ignorant. The Boys & Girls club got some money, yeah, but enormous profits, the majority of the money, went elsewhere. Cmon man.
I don't understand why you're getting sensitive but I never said I wouldn't love for Lebron to work on his shooting and it's aggravating when he becomes LeBrick, but to say he hasn't improved at all? He's becoming a better passer and is now posting-up like I've never seen him do before.

When we were making our deep pushes into the playoffs in the 90s, and the Heat-Knicks games got tense, Miami was always the villain. I remember those games fondly, they were part of my childhood and I loved being hated.
Don't get it twisted, I'm one of the people that'd love for Miami to figure shit out and play some beautiful basketball. I'm also not a person who likes to walk around talking shit with their eyes closed.

Has he got faster? Bigger, stronger? Yes. His shooting has gone from terrible, to merely streaky - but please tell me one aspect of his game that's improved since Paul Silas' departure.

Oh, and the Hornets used to fuck up the Heat.

Hey, you can post in this thread. You can talk about the sport. Thats fine. We love rookies. But you have to earn respect. No one is going to listen to a drive-by poster who is talking out of his ass. Sorry.

Be here for a few years and we might listen to what you have to say.

I'm actually quite a nice guy. I just think its insulting that bandwagon fans think so highly of themselves and their lack of knowledge. Ignorance is ugly.

Oh I was one of the guys ripping Mike Brown week in and week out with his "NON" offense having ass. It was just give the ball to Lebron and let everyone else watch. And the players that he got over the years weren't that good. They were no where as good as the Orlando or Boston players.

And his skills could improve I'll agree with that. And he does need a post game like for real. But years of experience will give that to him. I suspect that if he had the chance to play for Phil Jackson, Lebron would be an even better player than he is this year or the other 7.

This really isn't new though,Gonesol will look like the best big for 20 games straight, then just disappear out of nowhere. He dosen't slowly decline or have bad games dude just totally disappears on occasions.

I will never ever forget me screaming at the top of my lungs "Weatherspoon?!?!?!" as he took that final shot and missed.

That Jags game is still probably the worst game I have ever seen. That ended Marino's career, it makes me want to throw up.

Am I about to give a dap to a Spurs fan after they swept my Cavs in the Finals?

I think so.
